Stopped by for lunch a couple weeks ago and everything was great! All the ladies working were super attentive and the chicken salad salad was pretty good too! Will definitely be back!

Great environment and great service. The milkshakes were delicious!! The burgers were not fresh, but it still ate!

Three meat hashbrown

Atmosphere: Choate's Family Diner is an unassuming small building. It isn't a big retro, shiny diner, but it does look like a small-town diner. Inside are plenty of booths, tables, and a full-length bar. Idaho doesn't have a mask mandate, and I was the only one wearing a mask, including staff. Coffee: The coffee at Choate's Family Diner was good. It wasn't anything unusual, but it was brewed hot and fresh. Food: Choate's Family Diner menu has everything you expect a greasy spoon, no-frills diner to have. There are plenty of omelets, steak, and eggs, and sandwich options too. If you're looking for a healthier option, you probably won't find it at Choate's Family Diner.  I was craving steak and eggs, so I decided to order that. It came with eggs (I chose scrambled), steak (I wanted rare), toast (sourdough bread), and hashbrowns or fried potatoes (I chose fried potatoes). The entire meal was excellent. Everything was cooked as asked. The steak was one of the better diner steaks I've had. Choate's Family Diner is also known for its meat lovers hashbrowns and I got a half order that. I can't even imagine what a full order was like! The three meats hash comes with green peppers, onion, shredded cheese, ham, bacon, and sausage.  If you stop at Choate's Family Diner, I highly recommend it as it was delicious. Service: The hostess was friendly and our food was ready when we ordered it. Would I Come Back? I liked Choate's Family Diner and it is the stereotypical greasy spoon diner. If you're ever in Twin Falls and Jerome, Id, I recommend it.

We enjoyed our first visit to Choate's. The waitresses were very professional and kind. The food was good. We ordered Burgers (Avocado & a cheeseburger) and a BLT. All were cooked well. For our sides we got tater tots, homemade potato chips and munchers (based off the description of our server - it is like a jalapeño popper with just enough spice, but not too much heat) which were fried to perfection and very tasty. To top it off, we shared a piece of chocolate cream pie a la mode and were pleasantly surprised that the ice cream was soft ice cream. The decor is super cute, like a 50's diner. I love the turquoise and white booths which resemble upholster seats of a 1950's car.

Finger Steaks

Came here after driving from West Yellowstone for a late lunch/early dinner. Ordered the finger steaks which were actually really good. The inside of the diner was very 50s/60s themed and was fun to look at.

Wonderful people and food. This place offers drive up ordering and inside pickup. Old school diner.

A good place for breakfast. Lunch is ok but sometimes seating is an issue. The service is always good as well as the food

Great omelettes! Kind of a 50's diner and great service! And some local man bought our breakfast!

Long wait (pre-COVID), subpar food that's overpriced. Nice and attentive staff though

When I checked into my hotel in Idaho Falls, I asked the front desk where I should eat. One person…read morerecommended a spot next door, but the woman checking me in quietly leaned in and said, "Go to Milner's Gate. It's better food." That was enough for me. From the name, I expected a standard pub feel. Instead, the space is open, modern, and clearly put together with care. I sat at the bar as a solo diner and asked what I should order. The bartender asked how hungry I was and told me to get the ramen. I hesitated, thinking I might need something else alongside it, but I'm glad I listened. The Beef Short Rib Ramen Bowl delivered. The short ribs were tender and rich, the broth savory with depth from garlic, ginger, and chili. The jammy egg was perfect, and the pickled Fresno peppers balanced the bowl well. One bowl was more than enough. I also had a couple cocktails, and they were spot on. This is a place I would absolutely come back to and bring people with me. If you're in Idaho Falls and want something that goes beyond standard brewery fare, Milner's Gate is worth it.

As of late, my experiences in Twin Falls restaurants had not been good, but last night at Milners…read moreGate, I had a revelation !!! Cauliflower crust pizza, and short rib Ramen were absolutely better than expected, we will return for both. I wasn't expecting much in way of service, but was gleefully surprised at the attention and professionalism of our waiter. Had to do a double take on the price of my martini, I thought it was happy hour. I was surprised when I was told no that's the accurate price, Grey Goose vodka martini, and no extra charge for olives..... unlike another local restaurant which I will not name. I will go back to Milner's gate, I will become a regular !
