My daughter and I came in for our appointment and from start to end it could of not felt so racist and filled with microaggressions, the tech was some blonde who was nothing but cold and and short with my daughter. The tech talked to my daughter in such a tone it felt so uneasy which come to find out my gut feeling was right! Reason being is when we got to looking at glasses the manager John could of not been so cold and rude! He said under his breath that my daughter and I were "being too picky" and that he "cant do this because he is getting annoyed" after hearing that I decided to pay extra close attention to him and the level of microaggressions the manger displaced to my daughter and I was just plane disgusting! I just received a great Christmas gift--the gift of sight--and it's all thanks to our wonderful…read moreoptometrist, Dr. Schwartz, at Albertville eye care! Last November, during my annual eye exam, he caught a microscopic abnormality in my left optic nerve--before he had even dilated my eyes. After months of tests and ruling out other things, the doctors at the U of M determined that it's an optic nerve sheath meningioma (tumor). Thanks to Dr. Schwartz's expertise, it was caught before any vision loss (the doctors were shocked as it's rarely detected before the patient has symptoms). After radiation treatments and my follow-up MRI yesterday, I am so thankful that the tumor shrank a little and I only have very minor vision loss. This would not have been possible without Dr. Schwartz and I will never be able to thank him enough for blessing our family with not only top-notch, hometown care, but for saving my eyesight (and more). While I didn't plan to share this much on a public page, I couldn't explain how awesome Dr. Schwartz is without sharing some of my experience. I highly recommend him, as does our whole family. Thank you so much, Dr. Schwartz! :) I posted this review on some other local pages last November about my visit then: "It's so wonderful to be able to get top-notch care without leaving the STMA community. He did more tests and was patient and understanding and laughed with me while I researched it on the Mayo Clinic and WebMD wesbites.
