This reminds me of the sunsets in the Golf of Mexico

I'm Tourn between writing a positive or negative review. On the one hand, I don't know much about golf courses, and this may be a normal thing. But on the other hand, I didn't like some of the attitude I got from other members and/or employees when I was here as a guest doing a round of golf a couple of years back. It's a nice course to walk around, secluded and out in the middle of nowhere, with plenty of space and usually not busy. The parking lot is a little iffy, and there are parts that look like they're being worked on, construction wise. All in all, it's a good golf course, but at $40 a round (or thereabouts), it better be! Still, it's far from the most expensive course in town.

Buffalo Tournament Club is a great golf course, but I'm rating it at 4 stars just because it was kind of dry in some spots the couple times that I've played there. The rest of the course played nice and I enjoyed my rounds though. They have a really nice snack shack too.

I'd give this course negative stars if I could. I've played there more than a handful of times over the years and only kept going back because it's close to my house and you could play nine holes in the evening hours for relatively cheap around 20-30$. Yesterday was the last time I'll ever play there. I had a tee time around 6 and when I payed, I told them I was just wanted to play nine holes. They told me they didn't have a nine hole rate anymore and charged me $48 dollars. I voiced my displeasure, but it wasn't the kid who was workings fault, it's just his summer job. So we stop at the starter and he tells us to go to number 10. He also told us that there was a league off the front AND prior to that they had another league do a shotgun start. I could see the 10th tee box and there were 3 carts. I asked the starter how many groups that was and he said one, it's a group of 5 "they're here every week and play quickly..". To say the least no one played quickly and what course allows this? You think with all the other stupid rules this place has they wouldn't allow a group of 5 hacks to go off together. Anyways, After waiting every hole, we finally made it to 18 where the group of five in front of us were waiting for the group ahead of them. Next thing I know, there's nine (yes nine!!) guys on the tee box all getting ready to tee off (picture attached). We were told to play as many holes as we could, so we drove to a different hole and played until it was dark. We ended up playing a total of 12 holes. I don't know who is running this place, but they're doing an abysmal job. First the breathalyzer rule to start the season and now this BS. If there's leagues, that's fine, don't book public tee times during that time of the week. I understand they're probably trying to recoup money for that stupid restaurant they put in, but don't purposely charge me full price knowing the course is packed with leagues and only giving me time to barely play nine holes, while charging me for 18. Not to mention, you think you'd do all you could to continue to drum up business and have people go to the course and new restaurant, but instead management's policies are turning people away. And lastly, the course is a dog track. I'd rather go to any of the way nicer, better managed courses in the area that don't have ridiculous rules and rates.

The fairways and rough.

When it was time for me to pick a location for my wedding, I happened to remember Fox Valley and my husband loved it, so we booked it! At first, I was a little frustrated with them. I'm a last minute planner, so we were lucky enough to book Fox Valley just under a year before our wedding. The first event planner went out on maternity leave and then decided not to return to work (completely understandable). Then, we were assigned a new planner and she quit and no one told us! I found out by sending her an email and getting a rejection email back. Finally, we got Nancy and she was the saving grace! After running into so many bumps in the beginning, Nancy really put us at ease. Her primary role was to help us figure out what happens at Fox Valley like the food, table settings, centerpieces and chair covers. She was kind enough to go a step further and offer recommendations for the best florist, DJ and more! Our wedding was October 28, 2017, so it was right around Halloween. I really wanted that fall feel, so I asked if there was a way that we could have Southern Tier Pumking on tap, and unfortunately the answer was a no. BUT, Nancy ordered a bunch of bottled Pumking and we had more than enough to last us all night. The food was perfect. The staff was so friendly. The view is beautiful and I truly cannot think of anything to complain about no matter how hard I try. I loved my wedding day so much that wish I could relive it every year! Thank you, thank you, thank you to the Fox Valley Staff for making our wedding day so perfect.

Great course to play on however our Father's Day was almost ruined when a worker came to tell us we…read moreneed to play faster!! Now let me set the stage, we were behind a 3 some and every time we got to the next hole we needed to wait for them to finish. (Rightfully so as they were booked back to back) A gentleman rolled up when we were on hole 4, just finishing up, and proceeded to tell us to play faster, when I told him that we needed to wait every time we got to a hole for the gentlemen ahead of us to finish he was rude and told us we needed to just play faster and he said there was a hole between us and the next Players. We proceeded to finish that hole and got to hole 5 - a PAR 3 130 Yards!!! We finished that quickly and proceeded to hole 6 where we ended up waiting to once again play again!!! There was a twosome behind us that never caught up and had to wait for us so if we were delaying the game I think it would have been apparent if they were continuously waiting for us! I don't think this is acceptable behavior and will most likely never return! I get it's a busy day but as a worker know your audience, know what's happening and don't be rude to customers who have paid a good penny to play a round with 4 people on Father's Day!!! There are many many other courses to play that will appreciate business!!
