Terrible, terrible, terrible! First thing inside the door were four large dogs laying in the only walkway to enter the place. (More on the dogs below) Entered the bar area and was handed menus and told to come up to the bar when we were ready to order. Prices were extremely expensive! I ordered a Coke and was told they are out of Coke syrup. I ordered fried chicken and was told they didn't have any chicken or four other dinners on the menu. They require that you pay when you order. I pulled the cash out to pay the bill and the barmaid said "Card Only". I jokingly said, "I figured this was still America here in Wyoming." She said, "This company owns three places, one in New Zealand and none of them accept cash. The bank is 45 minutes away and we don't have time to deal with cash."Ok, no big deal really, just would be nice to know in advance. Place was very dirty. Floor, tables and chairs all were dirty. Silverware was clean. Back to the dogs...I am a dog lover, but not in a restaurant and certainly not around my food. We watched these two dogs going from table to table begging for food and staring the customers down as they ate. The barmaid went to get ice in a large, clear ice bucket and sat it on the floor to fill it with a scoop from the ice machine. The large white dog walked over to the ice bucket and stuck it's head inside to sniff it in between scoops of ice. We watched the barmaid carry the ice over and pour it in the ice bin. The food was bland and stale. Probably left from last year but I have no proof of course. Ordered a chicken finger dinner for the wife and little girl. I ordered the fish and chips. (There were no chips with my fish) It was typical bar food, everything fried and clearly old. read more

Staying 8-9 miles down the road. Have eaten here 5-6 times for breakfast lunch and dinner. Everything has been good. Burgers are big and juicy bison burgers. Fries are great. Salads are big and tasty. Servers all very nice and extremely attentive Breakfast was fantastic - eggs- perfect, French toast and pancakes all delicious. Not sure about the 1 star reviews. Worst service I've had anywhere in recent memory. Stopped in for breakfast based on high Yelp rating. Waited 5 minutes before having to track an employee down and ask for a table. We were seated at a table with dirty dishes on it. Had to ask them to remove dirty dishes. Ordered drinks from a nice gal, received our coffee and water promptly (first and only good experience there). Waited almost 10 minutes, nobody came back to give menus or take our food order. Had to get up and track down older guy and tell him we'd like to order breakfast. His reply: "Ok, waddaya want?" We haven't seen a menu. "We don't have menus." He rattles off a very short list of options, and we order and go back to our table. 10 minutes later he comes to the table, "What did you guys order again?" We tell him. He eventually comes back with our food. Our drinks are empty by this point and nobody offers to refill them. Nobody checks on whether we need anything or how the food is (it's fine, nothing special. aside from burnt bacon). Nobody notices that I didn't even get a napkin, and nobody cares. Meanwhile the older guy keeps returning to the table behind us to flirt with young girls. We ate at several other restaurants in the area that ranged from decent to great. What a great find in the Jackson Hole area. We were staying in the Grand Tetons and were tired of the "lodge" over priced breakfast and used Yelp and took a gamble. Great history of the cute little building (original bullet holes in door) huge fluffy pancakes and awesome coffee. Hubby had a breakfast burrito that was huge and absolutely delicious. College Kids working there were super nice and fun to talk to. Just an overall good Wyoming vibe. Love it! read more

AKA Dog Food Cafe. I ordered the bison sirloin and received a road kill hamburger patty. Everything on the property is gross and customer service is completely lacking. Ironically, the only helpful employee in the whole cess pool is a gentleman that works in the cafe. All the others are rude and useless. If you want to go glamping, check out Under Canvas. This place is nothing like it and far from anything that could be considered relaxing. Heart6 should be renamed as dump6, which is a much more accurate description. read more

Among the most special places on earth to us. This is an old school place with absolutely great milkshakes and food. The people working here are absolutely wonderful. This is an absolutely spectacular place untouched by time or Jackson Hole. Every time we go here, we buy apples to feed the horses (the staff cut them in slices to feed the horses which are located on the property). This is an absolutely spectacular place. The following is a summary of my breakfast experience at the Buffalo Valley Café: Atmosphere: Dirty and noisy. Not noisy with other patrons, but rather, noisy with obnoxious banter from the servers/employees. We were told to seat ourselves, but most tables were still waiting to be bussed while the wait staff loudly chatted amongst each other. Besides the filth, the cabin-ish feel was okay, with some moderately amusing knick-knacks and signs scattered throughout. Service: Terrible. Especially since there was an automatic 15% gratuity. Upon arriving for breakfast, we were told there was no coffee. Then we were told there was no hot tea. Coffee eventually showed up, but our server never bothered to ask if we wanted any. He never really bothered to ask us if we wanted anything. He took our drink order, food order, and then dropped off the "food". We never saw him again until it was time to pay. In the meanwhile we continued to listen to obnoxious banter from the wait staff about how "Folgers is the best part of waking up", as they drank their coffee while we went totally coffee-less. They were extremely loud and spent more time talking to each other than doing their jobs. I had to ask for maple syrup for pancakes. If I hadn't, there wouldn't have been any opportunity to ask for any. Also of note, we were never offered refills on our drinks or water. Food: Disgusting. "Hash browns" were frozen tater tots, greyed on the inside and greasy and oily out. I ordered the breakfast burrito and they put these disgusting tots inside the burrito. So you cut into the burrito and nasty tots just spill out. The eggs were rancid smelling and the cheese was "sweaty". A good name for their burrito would be "hobo" burrito. Just the worst thing I've ever eaten. The veggies were okay, but overcooked, not fresh, and quite oily. Pancakes were okay, but again, without asking for syrup I never would've received any. No butter was served with the cakes either. Overall: We only went here so we didn't have to drive all the way to Jackson. Save yourself the trouble and go to Jackson. I should've starved rather than wasting the $50 and time here on the breakfast my wife and I had. I felt bad before we went there after a rough night of camping, and I felt even worse after we left. Nauseous, disgusted, and broke. I am not exaggerating, this place is the worst breakfast restaurant I've ever had. Please go anywhere but here, do NOT trust the five star reviews. This place might get two or three stars on a good day, but my experience was a rock solid one. read more

Avoid it if you can. Horrible service! I felt like I was on the Twilight Zone watching the girl behind the counter treat people as if she was bi-polar. As soon as we got there I could sense she wasn't a great service provider because there was already a girl asking for something with a frustrated look on her face. We sat down after waiting to be helped for a couple minutes, only to find out (after I asked) from two ladies that seemed to work at the ranch whether we had to go up to the counter to order. They said "yes m'am". We went to the front to look at the menu and came back with our order. When I said I wanted a salad, the girl at the counter said "I'm not making salads right now.", I went back to the menu and came back with a new order. A chicken sandwich, non-apologetically she tells me "We don't have chicken right now" or something along those lines. I start walking away again to look at the menu again, but stop to ask her "What DO you have?". I was very annoyed by now, but kept my cool as I had nowhere else to choose from. She smirked and turned around as she mumbled something. I ended up selecting a Club sandwich. The food was good and the cost was ok for being out in the middle of nowhere, but I could not stop watching her after that and observed how she was rude to pretty much every patron. Not letting them know that they had to go to the entry to select off the menu or that all menu items were not available. She was offering guests one beer for now and one for later without telling them that each beer would cost them $4 each (I only know this because my brother-in-law accepted the beers only to feel bamboozled later). I saw so many people accept the offer of "Do you want a beer now and a second one later?" There was a man that appeared to be East Indian who seemed mild-mannered, but she was rude to him a couple times. After he got his food he went up to the counter for something and she raised her voice at him saying, "We're eco-friendly here and if you don't like it you can just leave!", the man began to walk away and she added, "And you don't have to come back". Another set of people apparently were charged for a Root Beer something and she didn't give it to them, but they seemed to think she had charged them for it. She ended up asking them to look up the transaction in their online banking while she looked on the register because I guess she didn't give them a receipt. She couldn't find it and just told them, "If I didn't give it to you, I'm certain I didn't charge you for it". I thought, "you charged us for our drinks and forgot to give them to us!". The guy who had been chit-chatting with her initially didn't seem so happy anymore. Another couple, after going through almost the same intro as me, ordered two meals to eat there and a third one to go and she said "Ok, I can do that but it'll be $5 extra." She wasn't kidding, apparently the to go boxes are very expensive in Wyoming. I also found out we were charged a dollar for each of our waters. The guy bringing out the food had the personality of Lurch from the Adams. At the end of the meal my brother-in-law noticed she automatically gave herself a tip on his receipt. Avoid this Cafe, especially if you see a petite girl, about late twenties to mid-thirties, long hair with bangs and glasses behind the counter by herself. She even had the audacity to say she loved her job too much to worry about a tip after she raised her voice at the East Indian patron. Buy food on the way in and don't expect to cook because conditions change and you may not be allowed to cook.A read more

Don't do it!!!!!! Maybe this place was once good. It was the worst place I ever ate. Dirty. Tables not clean. But was waiting for the food that was reported on Yelp. Holy cow. I thought I was on candid camera. First. They had no beer. The guy said they ran out. The menu had half the items with x in black marker. Not available. The menu promised Wyoming beer battered trout for fish and chips. I received Mrs Paul's fish sticks with French fries from yesterday. My husbands hamburger was horrible and same soggy fries. Very charming little cowboy roadside restaurant near Grand Teton N.P. We were staying at Heart Six ranch and enjoyed 3 breakfast meals at Buffalo Valley Café. Don was an awesome host! He is a great guy and was always there to refill our coffee. The food was also great! I would recommend this place if you are looking for a filling breakfast or lunch. We were lucky to accidentally find this place and really enjoyed the food. A young man by the name of Bryce was our server ( from Massachusetts for the summer ) . He was delightful to talk to and took great care of us. I could hear the chef cooking our food and when it came out it was nice and hot, absolutely fresh and hit the spot. Got recommendation from friend and visited on trip to Tetons in 2016. Had great burgers and shakes and definitely was a hit for our family. Went back this summer when in the area and hoped to have a similar positive experience...and we were not disappointed! Everything was as good as we remembered! - great burgers and fries. Most filthy place I have ever eaten. Service was the worst I ever had. When arriving with my family we entered to no clean tables and only two tables taken. We sat down, no one wiped our table, the waiter came to get our order with no menu given. It took 15 minutes to get a menu. We all wanted water I was the only one to get water. The plates where covered in greasy finger prints. And at the end of it all the waiter added gratuity to our bill for two meals-I split mine with my 3 year old. There was three of us. Worst meal ever. Great local place and local flavor. We came in here hungry after a full day of exploring Yellowstone. We tried the ribeye steak and buffalo burger - both were great and cooked to order. We had not been here since we worked in Grand Teton National Park in 2011. Then it was a favorite of ours for breakfast and lunch. Boy, has it changed. Sunday, we arrived for breakfast and were seated at a dirty table right away. However, it was another ten minutes before anyone came to clean the table and ask for drinks. Another ten minutes for a waitress to toke our order. Then the real wait began. Some 50 minutes later we got our order. No one had spoken to us about the delay. What I ordered was two eggs over easy, hashbrowns, bacon and a biscuit. What I got was two greasy eggs medium to well done (way overcooked) TATER TOTS and a dry biscuits (had to ask for butter). Also didn't get the juice we ordered until we reminded the waitress of this. I stated this was not what I expected at all especially tater tots instead of hash browns. Her only comment was she would comp our $2.00 juice. Needless to say, I ate very little. Then when the bill comes they automatically add 15% tip. Neither the waitress or the cook deserved anything!!! Gratuities should be based on service and good food. None of which we received.We will NOT return and have stopped recommending this place to anyone. The owners should be ashamed but then again they probably are relying on the tourists who stop only once. Sad, we used to love this place!! read more

On a whirlwind trip to Wyoming for a destination wedding we stopped for lunch at the Buffalo Valley Cafe. It is in a simple structure and serves basic food and does it well. Much better and more reasonably priced than Jackson. We had a fresh salad with chicken and the Beverly Hills sandwich. Both were great and at a great price. We were worried when we first pulled up and saw the Bud Light sign. After a great day of hiking in the Grand Tetons with three 10 year olds, we were wanting a decent beer and good food. We were happy to see that Pako's IPA was in the house and knew all would be ok. We were the only people in the place and Don, our cook and waiter attended to us promptly. Don suggested the Buffalo valley burger, which was amazing and the sweet potato fries were tasty. Don was great to our kids and, like pro suggested curly fries, which they agreed were the best.
