Decided to give Hard Count a try after 2 years...Tuesday 6:00pm, 3/4 full. Started out shaky... 5…read moreminutes after seated no sign of a server. Wife complained and the manager, Jeanette, came and took our drink orders. Still no server...Not to worry, Jeanette became our server and was great. They were short staffed. Food was great and appreciated the great service.

Went there for Saturday brunch. We had a reservation, but it didn't seem necessary (they thought…read moreso, too, I got an email halfway through brunch that the reservation was canceled). The waitstaff were all very kind and attentive. The food felt very overpriced for what we received. The brunch fruit bowl I received consisted of four thin slices of strawberry (not even one strawberry), two pineapple chunks and no more than 15 blueberries. The ham and eggs Benedict was borderline flavorless and the egg white was cold and runny. I love a good poached egg, but it was more liquid than poached. The tequila sunrise was musky and the flavor of the tequila overwhelmed the rest of the drink. I really wanted to like this place! However, I spent $35 on a pretty pitiful brunch meal. The restaurant seating area and decor were all nice. The bathroom had no music and is small and cramped (you can't get paper towels without either blocking the door or a stall). The people were kind and attentive enough that I probably would try it again? Maybe Sunday brunch or a different meal entirely.

We tried the BBQ wings, Lemon Zest wings, and the Mushroom Melt burger. The Mushroom Melt burger…read morewas delicious and definitely the highlight of our meal. The wings were decent, but they were pretty standard. I've had better wings elsewhere, and these could have used a more balanced and flavorful seasoning. The burger is what I'd recommend trying if you're visiting.

I really hate changing my review from a year ago, but things have gone downhill. I heard there was…read morean ownership change, which could explain it. The food is still good, but service is terrible. We went a week ago and the AC was broken, so it was hot and miserable...but there were no signs. Our waitress just happened to mention it and also said they were low on ice. The waitress was nice enough, but soooooo slow. A few times I thought she forgot about us. Getting our bar drinks took forever. At one point we were waiting for something and she was a few tables down just chatting it up with other customers. She stayed at that table for at least 5 minutes which feels like forever when you're waiting for something. We went several times in the first several months after they opened and loved it. We went a few months ago and the service was bad, but we were hoping it was just a bad night so we decided to give them another chance. It was even worse. We will not be going back and I don't think it's going to stay in business if this is how it's being run.

First time in... Stop by for a quick lunch. My selection was the blackened chicken, Caesar salad…read moreand a unsweetened iced tea. The salad itself was average fare - I apologies. I took a picture, but it disappeared... The salad was tossed in a very large amount of Caesar dressing, too much for my taste and took away from the overall taste of the salad. The chicken was ordered to be blackened, but it was void of any taste other than the Caesar dressing. This place has tons of food options, I will definitely be back, but will make another food choice. The reason I am definitely coming back is because of the service. Presley gave outstanding service from the moment. I sat down to the time I was leaving the restaurant. Very friendly, attentive without being suffocating and really added to my visit The tea was a disappointment, too weak - hardly had any color to it... The place had lots of energy and a great vibe. I can only imagine what it be like on a game day... Definitely a place to check out and try some of their bar food and cold beer plenty of taps with a good variety of choices

There were approximately six parties in the entire restaurant and my drink went dry a couple times. We ordered the simplest things on the menu and while they were good, I just feel like they need to stop hiring kids that just don or get service. The food is good when it comes out, but asking if things are ok and walking away before getting an answer is not good. This is my 5th time here, and this is the only complaint I have. The service is shabby. Food is great... service is why I'm keeping it at 3 stars for now. I'll come back next month.

Overall, a great first experience here. We went to watch the Peach Bowl. Small crowd at kick-off…read morethat grew as the day wore on. Mostly Sun City residents but some young customers too. There are a number of large screen TVs throughout. You can also play shuffleboard here. The menu comes down to pub grub, but they have many sandwiches and pizzas to choose from as well as hot dogs and burgers. We'd like to have seen more in the way of apps and sides to order, though. Spinach pizza, recommended by our first waitress who also tends bar, was out of this world. Easily in the top 5 pizzas I've had lifetime. Thin crust was cooked perfectly and packed with fresh spinach, olives, and red onions. Our Mexican martinis were generous and spot on. As the game went into the second half we ordered a side of plain fries, which, while inexpensive, were a bit burnt and merely an adequate serving. We should have ordered two servings to share but found it harder than expected to pin our waiter down on the size of a single order. Another quibble was the service. Initially, our bartender took care of everything and she was outstanding. She handed off to a younger male server who was fairly inattentive unless we gestured for him. Then again, other patrons were ordering more drinks by the single rather than a round, so it was a busy day. They and their sister restaurant Mulligan's both charge a service fee for credit cards, so be ready for that nick. But, all in all, I could not have envisioned a better experience for what we had in mind. Definitely a keeper that has a good blend between restaurant and bar atmosphere. Highly recommended! P.S. You might think the place has something to do with baseball given the slightly off name but it appears to be about a beloved dog. There are also some clear ties to the Iowa State Cyclones visible on the walls.
