This is my neighborhood BWW just a mile away and I used to come here weekly around a decade ago during college days with buddies. I have some fond memories here of good wings, solid service, and crazy sports moments. Those days are long gone with a slow and gradual decline in quality and service here since. Shame for such an excellent location and an iconic decor that still holds up, but this franchise clearly does not prioritize quality control and is coasting on the location and the name brand alone. The service used to be rather good, ironically when it was pretty slammed on the bogo days. To highlight the decline, I had a particularly strange experience with a server in the past year who dropped off my order with ranch instead of blue cheese. I called him over to point out the mistake and he just gave me a weird look and walked away without a word. Came back around 5 minutes later and simply just said "the system says it's blue cheese" before walking away again. Dude, the system says? My tongue says it's ranch. I felt like I was going insane so I had my friends try some and the unanimous decision was that it was indeed ranch. I had to flag him down again - my wings ice cold at this point - and practically beg him for blue cheese instead of the ranch. With a huff he left again and eventually came back with actual blue cheese. His service was otherwise decent enough, but for some reason an ounce of incorrect sauce was the hill to die on that day. Other than that, they started really skimping on the sauce. The wings are like half-covered now at best. Really disappointing when the sauce is the only saving grace for the chain at this point. My latest experience here was the last straw and what prompted this review: this past Thursday the 2nd, I ordered the bogo boneless 15 piece (30 total) for takeout and got 27. Not one, not two - 10% of my order missing. My roommate had already eaten his share of 10 and that's when we noticed the remaining amount looked rather light. Contacted BWW support on April 3rd and they said they would get back to me in 2-4 business days. Here we are on day 5 with nothing but crickets so here's my honest review. Tl;dr: I do not recommend this BWW. If you're craving wings on a budget go to Fire Wings. If you wanna splurge, hit up bb.q chicken. If you want a sports bar vibe with your wings, go to D&B. Rather than acknowledging the inconvenience or offering an explanation, I felt that my concerns were brushed aside entirely. While I understand there may be factors I am unaware of, it added to the perception that orders were not being handled fairly or in the order promised. I used to love BWW back in the day but boy did they go downhill.. A big group of my friends wanted to do an order pick up for 70 wings with fries & drinks. Why was our ENTIRE order wrong. We got the 70 wings but not a single flavor was correct. That aside, who cares about flavor choice. After finally being seated, no one even offered us water or came by to check on us. Honestly, this used to be the place! I've been here multiple times over the years and it's always been great - except this last time. We sat at a booth and noticed dripping, we thought okay - let's move booths except there were at least 5 booths that were out of order due the to rain. We were then sat at a table with some of thee most uncomfortable chairs - not to mention it was by a dirty bucket. A literally bucket with food in it that was catching water. Let's get to the food, you order through the app and they bring it to your table. I ordered first and then my friend did, by at least 10 minutes. And she got her food first. I waited 45 minutes for my food. That's absolutely ridiculous. And also, my wings compared to her wings were laughable. Hers looked like actual wings that you'd expect to get and mine looked like the bottom of the barrel ones. Also, our waitress was the worst. She never checked on us, never got us refills. Overall a solid experience at this Buffalo Wild Wings on Bristol Street in Santa Ana. We arrived at 9:30 PM and the food came out fresh, quick and delicious, the "pick 6 meal for two" is a great deal.
