I was in a mood for a Summertime cocktail on a patio. Well, I guess everyone in Carmel was feeling the same because every place was packed. I have never been to BuffaLouie's and since they had a patio I thought it was a good time to try it. I was seated right away. The cocktail list looked good but I was really craving an Aperol Spritz. My waiter was very friendly. He said they could make any cocktail. So I did indeed order an Aperol Spritz. I will have to say it was a good Aperol Spritz. I ended up ordering the chicken tenders and tater tots. I always appreciate it it when tots are an option. The tenders were pretty standard. But I did really enjoy my tots. We stopped into this Indiana themed sports bar for the wing's special on Mondays. (Boneless Wings are 99 cents on Mondays.) We also ordered curly fries. The bar is loaded with Indiana team photos and memorabilia. TV monitors were playing various sport reruns when we visited. A couple of people were seated and seemed to be remotely working. The dining area and outdoor patio are clean and welcoming. We waited for service and no one came out, so we went next door to their carry-out counter. The food was delivered to us outside fairly quickly. The wings were and fries were hot! The fries were very good. The "wings" seemed made from frozen nuggets. They were ok. I'd return to try a meal from their full menu. I'm guessing that the bar is hoping on game day. There is free parking in a dedicated lot behind the building. Our first time visiting BuffaLouie's in Carmel. It is on Main Street in Carmel. Inside dining is not abundant, but there's great patio seating in back. There's also limited parking in back as well. So plan accordingly with regards to timing of your visit and be prepared to walk a block... which really isn't that bad. We ordered the Loaded Curly Fries for $6.99 as an appetizer. It was thin cut fries smothered in sweet barbecue sauce, melted cheddar, bacon and ranch. They were good but messy. We also ordered a dozen of traditional wings. We got half with Medium Sauce and half with Memphis Q dry rub. The cost was $24.99. The Medium Sauce was VERY similar in taste to the Medium Sauce at BW3. We really liked this since that's our favorite sauce. The wings here were much smaller than those at BW3. Their wings are on sale on Tuesday for 99cents a traditional wing. At BW3 you get 15 traditional wings for about $21. But on Tuesday you get 30 wings for that price. So, BW3 is cheaper by $9 to $10. The Memphis dry rub was a bit salty for our taste. We probably won't order it again. But, as mentioned, we loved the medium sauce!! That we definitely would get again! We also ordered the 5 Tender Basket for $15.99 It came with two sauces and your choice of curly fries or tater tot's. We were curious and asked about the burgers. Each one that was served looked delicious. They run $14.99 and are served a la carte ,., no fries or sides included. We went for a Pacers Watch Party. They have plenty of flat screen TVs. All were turned on to the Pacers game AND they had the sound on!!! Loved the sound ... pet peeve is a restaurant blasting music when a local sporting event is on their TVs. Thank you, BuffaLouie's! I considered giving this place three stars, but their average food comes in very small portions and is very expensive. Mixed drinks are "Dahmer" expensive. You know, costs you an arm and a leg. :) The food was average. I had the Pot Roast sandwich. It was ok, but it was very small. I recommend you get the tater tots over the fries. Just so you know.....the Muldoon's restaurant is right across the street. There, for the same price, the sandwiches are twice the size of BuffaLouie's, they taste great, and you get chips or cottage cheese with your sandwich at no charge. Sides at BuffaLouie's cost extra. Just saying. Know the competition. My wife had the buffalo chicken sandwich. She said it was ok, but it was pressed chicken parts covered in a spicy sauce and not a real chicken breast. The staff were very nice and helpful which made the experience better. I always want restaurants to survive, but they should serve "great" food at a "reasonable" price so you come back. Pretty simple concept I think. Parking in the Carmel Arts District is always a challenge. We might come back again, but only after the sting of this visit subsides. There was a young lady outside cleaning the windows and when I walked in she immediately stopped to come in and wait on me. I told her she could finish doing what she was doing because I was undecided. She insisted that it wasn't a problem and stayed and answered all my questions. I decided on honey garlic wings, fries, and a sweet tea. . The honey garlic wings had excellent flavor and the sweet tea was good. The fries lacked flavor and tasted stale. BuffaLouie's is a hidden spot! I have been living here for 5 years and never knew this place existed! The atmosphere is full of energy and feels like a true hometown spot, especially with all the incredible IU sports memorabilia covering the walls. t's like a walk through Hoosiers history while you enjoy your meal. The waitresses were extremely attentive and made sure we were taken care of the entire time without ever feeling rushed. You can tell they really care about the customer experience. The food was fantastic, but what really stood out was how welcoming and fun the whole environment was. As an IU Alum, I was excited to hear BuffaLouie's was opening a location in Carmel. We were finally able to try it over the weekend, ordering take out for 5 people. We all got different types of chicken sandwiches, which only come as a sandwich requiring you to get sides a la carte. So for sides, we got an order of french fries, tater tots and fried pickles to pass around. Food was ready rather quickly. Packaged well, but one side of sauce was missing (granted it was the only sauce we asked for on the side). My Sweet Lou crispy chicken sandwich was pretty good and the sauce was just as I remembered. The bacon was quite a let down though -- very fatty and mushy. Others got a couple grilled chicken sandwich varieties and they were rather average. The major let down, however, were the sides. The fried pickles were soggy with absolutely zero crunch to them. Almost like they were set out to thaw and then thrown in the fryer wet from the melted ice. The fries were less than luke warm with lots of small end pieces. I was also a bit surprised that the $12-14 sandwiches don't automatically come with a side. And while we're on the topic of price, $18 for 10 chicken wings seems laughably expensive. Overall, I'm glad we tried it, but the take-out experience was quite a let down. We had previously stopped by during a college football Saturday and the place was popping (with a long wait), so maybe the in-person experience would be much better. read more

The wings were scrawny - I like my wings crispy so a little extra fry does render them, but these wings are not big. The sauces - Volcano was tasty and has a good zing and a decent amount of heat. The Lucifer didn't live up to the name - probably the same base but needed to be a lot spicier to call jt "Lucifer". Fries had zero seasoning, were undercooked and greasy. This is an awesome spot located in the heart of a trendy section of Carmel. You will find a public parking lot with 3 hour parking in the back and street parking is also available. You can enter the restaurant from the front or back door. The place has a very nice fenced in patio in the back with a bunch of tables and chairs with heaters. Inside, you will find a small bar area with seating. The dining area is modest and there are televisions all over the place. It makes an awesome sports bar. The restaurant is decorated with IU and Indiana memorabilia. What really sets this place apart from other places that I have visited is its staff. They are awesome. They were very welcoming, friendly and attentive. The best I have experienced in a long time. The restaurant is known for their wings, but they also serve salads, chicken tenders, burgers, chicken sandwiches and subs. I ordered 10 wings (5 Rasta Jerk/5 Honey Garlic with a side of fries. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food and the place was busy. My food was fresh and hot. It was also delicious. I liked the Rasta Jerk the best, but it was close though. I cannot stress enough that I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. I am really high on this place and highly recommend it. They have some delicious food and you would be hard pressed to find better service. I was excited to see Buffa Louies open near Indy since it's such a Bloomington staple. The wings were just as I remembered. I went with hot buffalo, hot garlic, and Rasta jerk and all had unique and delicious flavors. Visited BuffaLouies for lunch today. I really wanted to like it but they fell short of my expectations. First off, our waitress Grace was very nice and pleasant. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Salad with hot garlic crispy chicken toppings. There were more croutons than chicken on my salad and the chicken present barely had any hot garlic sauce coating. I've had much better Buffalo Chicken salads for less at both Chilis and District Tap. If I do give them a second try, I will be ordering something different . I always loved the South Bend Chocolate Company that used to be in this space, but apparently I was the only one who loved it, since they abandoned this location. The wings were not bad. Not spectacular, but not bad. I found them to be a little on the small-ish side. I like my restaurant wings to be bigger and plumper than what I can make at home. Half of my order was drumsticks, and half were wings. The drums were particularly small. Service: We sat at the bar in the back of the restaurant. Service was a little slow. They forgot our order of fries entirely, and there were no napkins or paper towels remaining on any of the rolls at the bar. I shouldn't have to beg for napkins at a wing joint. Things can get messy very quickly. Ambiance: It's a prime location in the heart of Main Street in downtown Carmel. It was, however, very loud inside. When the background noise in a restaurant averages 80+ decibels, you end up communicating with your spouse (sitting next to you) using a series of hand signals and even text messages. It wasn't horrible, but be prepared to yell if you come during prime dinner hours. We showed up on Saturday to try the new place! We didn't realize IU was playing, but we were quoted a 30 minute wait. We saw multiple people clearly saving tables.. (an 8 top with 2 people sitting at it). So we were prepared there was going to be a huge bottleneck in the kitchen. We ended up having to wait an hour. Upon getting seated, we had a great waitress who seemed a bit overwhelmed. Understandable. We ordered the loaded fries and 20 boneless wings. Our food actually came relatively quick, which was nice. The loaded fries were odd. It was clearly 2 different fries- one were seasoned and in an s shape, the other were unseasoned and curly fries. We weren't really sure if this was done on purpose or not. They were fine, lukewarm. The wings were good. We liked the sauce - buffalo TNT, and hot Q bbq. For a $50 meal, I'm not 100% sure if it was worth it. read more

I was excited to try because my boyfriend went to IU and so when he saw they opened a location in Carmel, we figured we should give it a try. We came in on a Thursday night and the place was dead, maybe only one other couple there. Our food came out so quick, almost too quick? It was hot though so no issues there. I enjoyed the fried pickles a lot and the fries were pretty good as well! The buffalo chicken salad was ok. There were some wilted leaves in the lettuce and the chicken was just so much breading, no chicken really. The ranch was also so thick, definitely was not drizzling over the salad haha. Our bill was over $70. The Louis lemonade came in the tiniest cup for $11 so definitely would recommend getting a beer and not a cocktail! Wanted to love it but probably won't be back. read more

The flavor was very good, but I should have gotten the traditional wings, which is on me, but that does mean I need to return. I will say I waited quite a while. I tried BuffaLouie's, and it was fine. It made me want to go to Bloomington though. BuffaLouie's is such a unique, independent spot. It kind of felt out of place in Carmel. Like the Bloomington location, they did a great job hanging pictures and paraphernalia related to IU and Indiana. The service was terrific. They get an A+. The food was alright. I ordered a meatball sub, which was pretty good. It was big enough that you don't need a side with it. I also ordered fried cheesecake, which was kind of dull. I wouldn't recommend that for dessert. It took a little bit longer than I thought it would to bring out the food, but they were pretty busy. If you order a soda, you get to take a home a BuffaLouie's souvenir cup, which is neat. There is a parking lot behind BuffaLouie's that offers free 3 hour parking. If the lot is full, you'll have a hard time finding parking around there because BuffaLouie's is in the heart of the Carmel Arts District. read more

I visited Buffalouie's with my dad & uncle shortly after St. Patrick's Day (hence the green ranch). We went for an early dinner around 4pm and were the only table in the restaurant. Our waitress was friendly, but nothing in particular stood out. For apps, we ordered onion rings and tater tots- they were crispy and hot. I ordered boneless wings (mild buffalo/garlic parm) and the others ordered traditional wings (memphis dry rub/hot buffalo). We enjoyed the flavor & spice levels of the sauces, but all agreed that the wings are small for the price point. Carrots/celery are an extra charge. I think that the wings at Fat Dan's and Ale Emporium are a better bang for your buck. My boyfriend, an IU grad, thinks that the Bloomington location is better. Overall- food was a bummer but the staff was phenomenal! Hamilton County had us on the quest to earn a Tenderloin Tuesday T-shirt. No fault of their own, they are on the list and don't even HAVE TENDERLOINS! So we pivot, get a $3 Tuesday draft domestic and an order of wings. (Tuesday wing special $1) Our server, Annie F, was bubbly, patient and friendly. Sadly, the wings were RIDICULOUS. Tiiiiiinyyy wingyyyy. For one dollar a piece they were ridiculous. Greatest servers and hostess around -- the staff at Buffalouie's are always awesome. But I'm officially going on strike for bigger wings. I shared my concern with the GM and I do hope my voice was heard, but honestly I felt a bit rushed off the phone after explaining the issue. I'm not looking for free food, and I totally understand he was probably busy -- I just wanted to give real feedback from a loyal customer. Right now I'm spending about $2.00 per wing, including a few sticks of carrots and celery, and for that price I'd really expect a little more meat on the bones for their signature item. I had never been to Buffalo Louis but was excited to see a new place opening up just down the street from me. I ordered the honey bbq wings and onion rings. The food came out super quickly, our server was really pleasant, and the food was really good. The wings tasted fresh, and I appreciated that they had more meat and less breading than somewhere like Buffalo Wild Wings. The sauce was interesting but in a good way with lots of flavor. We got seated righted away, and while it's definitely a sports bar atmosphere with lots of noise, I found it to be pleasant and can't wait to enjoy the outdoor seating. BuffaLouie's claims that they have the "worlds best wings". That's a big claim. The world is pretty large. Also, I haven't wings from all over the world, so I really wouldn't know. I will say that they were very good, fresh for sure and not drowning in sauce. Also a consistent size portion for each wing. However, I would proceed with caution here. A side is not necessarily included with an entree neither is a drink. This is why I recommend just being aware of what the total cost of your order is, it definitely seemed to add up quickly, too quickly. BuffaLouie's is conveniently located downtown near some other restaurants where for about the same cost I could more than wings, burgers, fries and drinks and have more than fast food options. The server was attentive but it was that bill that might make me think again about paying a premium price for fast food. If I really had to have fast food though I would say that BuffaLouie's might actually have a run at the worlds best wings. read more

Servers were all dressed up for the holiday so it was a fun atmosphere. There is plenty of parking in the back of the restaurant but I'm sure on weekends that can get crowded. The food was good. The loaded fries were my absolute favorite I might just get those and only those next visit! The traditional wings my husband and I got were underwhelming for me. They were dry and small with very little sauce. I might try the boneless next time because those looked better. All in all though I recommend!
