February and the weather is finally releasing winter a bit. Lunch on a Friday, downstairs in the bar (10 tvs), very cozy, not busy at 11:30 (I mean, we got a parking place by the door!). Server is the bartender, casual and welcoming. There's plenty of offerings on the menu but we both went with burgers with me getting the Angus burger and RRR getting a smashburger. Both burgers were quite good as was my coleslaw and his waffle fries. The coleslaw has lots of black pepper which I was able to tolerate, unusual. All in all a nice beefy winter lunch. read more

Honestly the worst dinner I've had in a long time. I can't believe this place is owned by the same people who run divvy, which is 1000% better in every aspect. Our waitress was nice but inattentive. We were there over an hour and only got one water refill after flagging her down. The Brussels sprouts were okay in flavor but hadn't been properly trimmed and were under cooked. When ordering them off the appetizer menu, we asked for there to be a delay so we could finish them before receiving our entrees. There was about 2 minutes between receiving the appetizer and entrees coming out, which was disappointing. The pot roast was 80% fat and while the mashed potatoes were good, the broccoli was raw, sitting in water, with no seasoning. With no gravy or au jus (surprising for pot roast), the meat was not tender. My husband, who will eat just about anything and is rarely critical about any food, said his chicken florentine was very dry and his broccoli was also raw and unseasoned. He also said this place tasted like the worst cooks in America show opened a restaurant. The crème brûlée was pretty good, it's a mini for $5, the only saving grace for a second star. I told our waitress about the food experience but other than replacing the broccoli with equally bad broccoli, nothing was done, not even an apology, and she was MIA for most of our visit, despite the restaurant not being busy...at all. Honestly, I have no idea how this place stays open. The concept is cool, but there's a lot of "stuff" all around that's collecting dust, and with food this bad, it's not worth your time, money, or calories. read more

I went to Woody's in Carmel with family and had a really enjoyable experience. We started by ordering the Parmesan Brussels sprouts which were crispy and well-seasoned. The baked goat cheese appetizer was also excellent, warm and creamy on toasted bread. At the end we combined some of the leftover goat cheese with the Brussels sprouts and the combination was absolutely fantastic. For the main course I had the mini Sloppy Joes with sweet potato fries. They were hearty, savory and very satisfying. To finish the desserts were small but full-flavored, a perfect way to end the meal. The crème brûlée was especially delightful with a perfectly caramelized top and just the right amount of sweetness. read more

I met a couple friends here for Devour week. The parking is limited and I was surprised to get an open spot. There is plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. We were there early so it wasn't busy. I had a Mango Mockarita, House Salad, Pot Roast, and Vanilla Blondie. The pot roast was really hearty and full of flavor. I was full and took my dessert home to enjoy later. The different levels of this restaurant are super cool! Has outside seating and a bar area with tables that both have open seating so you don't need a reservation. Then, upstairs a reservation is recommended. We had Brussel sprouts and fried mushrooms as appetizers. The brussel sprouts were AMAZING! The fried mushrooms were good but we have had better. The Cajun tots were also a table pleaser as several chose them as their side. We have the chicken florentine, grilled chicken sandwich, vegetable stir fry, and the crispy chicken. Popped in here for a nightcap after dinner with friends because they are open late and not super packed. A nice, lowkey spot to hang with a small group (plenty of space downstairs). It is also in walking distance from so many other drink and food spots, so it could be a great initial meeting spot to figure out what to do for the evening or a great spot for a nightcap. Our server was really sweet, made sure we always had water, and checked on us frequently to see if we needed anything else. The staff upstairs were also really friendly and let us know that seating was downstairs, but when we left we could exit through the covered patio and didn't have to come all the way upstairs/go back down the front steps. read more

I was greeted at the main door with a smile and a beautiful welcome. I was then directed to the bathroom. The bathroom was dated and brought me back to memories from my childhood that made me smile. This was my first time here so I was a little confused about seating but eventually found where to sit. Bella was our server and she was great. We went for the devour menu. They didnt have any vegetarian options but I was able to find something else on the menu. The blueberry mocktail was AMAZING. The sprouts was a decent sized portion for it to be a side. We visited on a Saturday in mid-May. Hoping to sit on the patio, we found the wait was too long for how hungry we were, so we decided to head upstairs to the library area. As soon as we walked in, we were met with a cloud of smoke--it smelled like something was burning. We sat down, ordered our drinks, and discussed whether we wanted to stay. Initially, we thought we could tolerate the smoke as it seemed to be dissipating. However, after about five minutes of looking at the menu, it worsened again. We politely asked the waiter if we could pay for our sodas and leave. He was apologetic and understanding, especially since some people in our group were having a hard time with the smell. We're hoping this was just a fluke, but I'm not in a hurry to return anytime soon. read more

I've been to Woodys twice and have had a good experience both times. The first time was the middle of summer when the patio was open. Our server was very kind, a man that said he has been there for a long long time. I got the filet medallions that were very good! They come with a horseradish sauce on them that makes the flavor come together in my opinion. I also had the draft root beer which was delicious and refreshing on the hot summer day. From my memory you can only get it refilled twice or three times- but worth it. The second time I went I got the same entree and the Brussel sprouts. Those I don't recommend as much only because they are drowning in sauce, but the flavor itself is good. Just would be better if there was less sauce overpowering the dish. The interior of this place is different and historical. There isn't a ton of space though which surprised me. Overall I would return to get the filet medallions with the horseradish sauce- it has become a favorite of mine read more

The service was slow at times but overall they took very good care of us. They have variety of items on the menu and it took me a while to decide what to get. We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday and appreciated they could accommodate a large reservation a few days prior to the date needed. They allowed us to bring in our own cake (just needed to sign a waiver) There are plenty of fun drink options here and an extensive menu. I appreciated all the gluten free options they offer too. Service was fine - it's hard taking care of a large group when we all arrived at different times too. No points off there. I just feel like this town had more to offer. read more

Service has been at all levels but mostly favorable. We had a private room one of our visits with a larger party and the server was one of the best we've had anywhere around! I frequently order the Bison Meatloaf as I find it absolutely delicious. Most recently introduced two friends to it and they were similarly praising!
