Thanks to other YELP reviews, I went with Bug Crashers when I had evidence of termites in my master bedroom. This is one of the areas, similar to car repairs, where I feel very vulnerable because I could end up spending a lot of money for unnecessary repairs if the company representative is unethical. Fortunately, however, I found the opposite to be true with Tim and Emerson. They identified my problem as subterranean termites and, upon inspecting the rest of the house, found the only infestation was in a 10 foot area under the bedroom window. What a relief! And, the cost of repair was very reasonable. I was prepared to call in a second opinion if the findings and cost were not reasonable, but that was not necessary. I strongly recommend Bug Crashers to anyone needing an inspection or with an infestation. Great experience. After calling around and leaving messages for a bunch of places (none of whom called back), I talked to Tony. We needed to schedule for a Monday, the only day we could get the job done, but he told me they were booked. I said I needed to get back to him and figure out an alternative, and he called back 30 minutes later and said they could manage to add us in. Josh showed up, explained the process, and did the job quickly and efficiently. Definitely a great experience. Plus, I like the fact that they didn't have advertising for the business all over their truck; the last thing we wanted as a business was to "advertise" that we had a pest problem to all the neighbors. I had swarming termites and found Bug Crashers here on Yelp. Like others have commented, the reviews here are for real. These guys are great. I called and Tony came out to inspect and give me an estimate. The price was fair and Josh and Tim came out and did the spraying. They were very nice and provided an update on the condition under my house. Luckily there was no sign of damage. About 7 weeks later I saw droppings and like any homeowner, cringed at the thought that I might have dry termites. I called Tony and Josh came out and took a look. After about 5 minutes Josh said, "I think this is from crickets". OMG, what a relief. He even brought up pictures on his phone to show me the difference between cricket droppings and those of termites. He went under the house (which was going above and beyond, in my opinion) to check things out thoroughly and then sprayed some chemicals in the affected area telling me to keep an eye out for the next couple of weeks. I asked how much and he told me "nothing, this was my last stop for the day." I really didn't expect that, but it just shows how honest these guys are and that they really care about doing a good job and treating customers well. oh yeah, btw, it was crickets read more

No brainer: You can pay LOTS of money to 'Huge Insect Company' and you're lucky if you get a Tony or Tim... or hire Tony & Tim directly who decided to leave that Huge Insect company to start their own business they just opened & named Bug Crashers. I'm all about the skilled & honest 'little guy' giving it a shot (I think we all are) - small business, that's a cool thing about America. Well, these guys did it and have started out on the right foot in my opinion. They came to our house today and were very thorough. As well as the qualities in a business I look for (and in turn I will be loyal to when I need their services again): HONEST Professional Skilled Knowledgable Courteous Punctual, available, accomodating AFFORDABLE Free Inspection And they offer a lot of different options - GREEN options. Anyway, our Termite problem was identified. (Oh, and they didn't try to sell us on tenting or say we had worse problems than we actually did -). WHAT THEY DIDN'T know - is that we had our termite inspection/ control done when we bought the house 7 months ago. I called them in because this weekend I became aware of 2 areas: our side wood gate and our garage wall window area. Was I going to tell them that? Nope - I didn't know them yet and I wanted to see what they'd actually say. Today they said the entire house was clean - no termites. Awesome (I kind of knew that but was happy because I found someone honest). We did however have some minor termite activity in our side wood gate and our garage wall window area. I was concern that my home might have an infestation of termites. Five or more years had past since I last had the house inspected by anyone for pest. The gentleman that I would always call retired and now I found myself wondering whom I would be calling that would be reliable and honest. I believe I spoke to Tony who is the owner of this company, and he is a straight-up guy as I was hoping he would be. I was about to paint my house but someone advise me to have my house inspected for termites before I did so because I could end up shooting myself in the foot and costing myself more money in the long run. I was half expecting the next termite inspector to come and give me some astronomical estimate which required my house to be tented, but to my surprise he was straight up, honest and seemed like he knew his stuff. What won me over was when I was discussing with him about another estimate about attic insulation, he shared with me his expertise and gave me his opinion on which route I should take. To me he went above and beyond in informing me about that because although I did not initially intended for him to give me a recommendation, he did not want me to get ripped off. He was able to squeeze me in the following day and his guys were able to coordinate with my painters and still get the house painted in a timely manner. Overall he did a great job, give me a reasonable price, and for like so many of us who feel that we can be easily be taken advantage of, I am glad I chose him . Nice and easy experience with Bug Crashers! When they came by for an inspection, my window was from 9-11am. They arrived at 9:05. Awesome. Super quick inspection and I was enlightened to how much the termites had spread. These guys know what they're doing, and they estimated the time it would take to treat my problem locally was 2 hours. Actual time, 2 hours and 10 minutes. This includes cleanup and setup time. This is not a task any homeowner is "excited" to do, but we all know that from time to time it must be done. From the first phone call I made, to the day they sprayed BUG Crashers made the entire process smooth and easy. I called at least 5 other places who varied in cost, most of which were more than double the cost of these guys. Double?! It all started in July 2014. I came home one night to termites flying around my porch and my living room. I found Bugcrashers online and called the next day. Tony came within a few days, was very nice, and informed me that I have subterranean termites. Tim came a few days later and did a treatment where he determined the problem was coming from. He said it would take a few days to a few weeks before all termite activity stopped. So, I let that time pass, and the problem only grew worse. I still had hundreds of termites in my living room nightly (they were attracted to the the light from the lamp), and termites swarming all over my porch nightly. VERY LONG STORY SHORT... over the course of two years, Bug Crashers did multiple treatments on my house-- both for subterranean termites and even tenting my house for drywood termites. One night, as I was sitting in my living room, I heard a loud boom in my front yard. I went outside to discover that my front yard tree had fallen onto my neighbor's car. I called a tree service the next day to remove the tree, and before I could even say anything, the tree guy said, "Well, no wonder the tree fell; it's infested with termites." He showed me, and they were everywhere. I called Bugcrashers again, and Tim said it must be the tree from where the termites have been coming this whole time. That really annoyed me because at this point, I had paid them $1800 to treat my house several times, and yet no one ever bothered to inspect the tree that is literally right outside of my front porch (the porch that is infested with termites nightly). Anyway, Tim and his colleague treated around the tree and assured me that this must have been where the problem was stemming from for all of these years-- since the problem had never been eradicated even after multiple treatments of my house. Tony seems like a nice guy, yet, every time I contact him to tell him the termites are still here, he says things like, "That's impossible. We've treated everywhere..." Actually, it's quite possible because I am staring at them flying around my living room as I type this. I have, at this point, asked every neighbor surrounding me if they have this issue, as well, because Tony suggested maybe they're coming from a neighbor (which didn't make sense, when they are in my house). Anyway, it's now over three years later, and lots of money later, and nothing has changed. The issue has never been remedied-- nor even reduced. It is literally as if I have never had one treatment-- when the company has done multiple treatments. It became impossible to get a hold of anyone after a while. No one would return my calls, texts, or emails. Perhaps, they were getting sick of me. I'm just sick of termites in my house-- nightly. I cannot express how stressed these years of dealing with this has caused me. This company took a lot of money from me and never solved the problem and then they feign shock and disbelief when I tell them that I still have termites. The guys are nice, but the problem has never been solved, and I am out a lot of money and have experienced so much stress and anxiety over having a living room full of termites every night--only imagining the damage that has been done to my house. The only reason I kept calling them instead of going to a new company is because I had already paid so much money, which they would not reimburse, but they continued to come out to "fix" the problem, which was never fixed-- until they stopped returning my calls and emails altogether. Now, I have no choice but to call a new company and pay lots more money and hope the problem is solved. Additionally, it took over one year of my constantly emailing, calling, and texting to request a receipt of their services before they finally furnished me with one, and the receipt did not accurately reflect all of the treatments that they had done on my house, so now when I have different companies come out for quotes, I cannot tell them the locations of all of the treatments that were done. read more

I was about to do a painting job and the painter noticed an area of wood damage and suspected termite. I was concerned and called bug crashers. I asked them for a termite inspection and got a quick response. Josh showed up exactly on time and was very professional. He did a thorough job inspecting all areas from the outside of the house, the wood damage area the painter pointed out, the garage and the attic. These guys are the BEST!!! I was given a used toddler bed which brought bed bugs into my home. I tossed the mattress the day the bed was given to us but had NO IDEA the bugs lived in the plastic frame too. About a week later my little one started getting these mysterious bumps. After 3 weeks and 4 doctors later, I saw a bug on her bed frame when I was routinely checking on her in the middle of the night. Finally I knew what was wrong with my child and boy was it was traumatizing!! Anyway, tried the at home bombs and the next night I found another bug in the middle of the night. Ahhhh horrible. I got on YELP and found these guys. I called and spoke with Tony who was very nice. He explained the process and what needed to be done. He also quoted me a much lower price than what I was expecting to have to pay; $350 LESS than the other quotes I got!! He also followed up with a very detailed e-mail outlining exactly what needed to be done before they showed up to spray. Tim was scheduled to come out on the Saturday following my phone call to Tony. When we spoke that morning, he let me know he was running a couple hours behind. I understand things don't always go as planned and I wasn't sleeping at home anymore so I let him know if he had to reschedule that I would understand but hoped he could still make it. He told me he would do his best but said if he couldn't make it he would come out the next day, which was Sunday. I was shocked that he even offered that and asked him to follow up with me a couple hours later just to let me know how he was doing. He got back to me before I had asked and let me know he was on his way, from the Valley and let me point out that my home is in Long Beach. It would have been really easy for him to bail on me considering how behind he was and how far away he was and the fact that I already told him if he needed to reschedule it would be ok but he was committed to showing up that day and I really appreciated it. When he got there he answered the million questions I had, assured me he would be thorough and get the problem taken care of. He also charged me $50 LESS than what I was quoted on the phone, knowing what I had been quoted by Tony. He was very nice, very thorough (he actually found egg sacs on the back of a frame hanging on the wall in my living room and the back of a table leg in another part of my home) and he explained the steps I needed to take so I would not be transferring this problem to my new home. When he was all done I asked him if he was able to go home and end his work day and he said he had one more appointment back in the Valley. Again, utter shock. He so easily could have cancelled on me to save himself a lot of time, traffic headaches, and gas but he was committed to keeping my appointment. I am soooooo thankful. They will be coming back in the next week or so for their follow up spray which is included within the price I already paid. These guys are seriously the best. They always answer their phones, they are very honest, very thorough, and priced so people can actually afford to deal with the unexpected nightmare at hand.
