He got someone out that day and within 24 hours they were 90% gone! We have them out quarterly per his recommendation and we've been pretty much ant/spider free for the last 6 months. During my initial inspection, I was told that this company includes an indefinite warranty. That my house would be inspected yearly for termites and spot treated if any were found. That sounded too good to be true, and it was. Such a warranty is offered but for $35 a month. Ultimately the rate I was quoted was competitive with everyone else, just not the amazing deal the inspector made it sound like. So I went ahead rather than spending more time shopping around. I was also told that only AFTER fumigation would a thorough inspection happen looking for damage. I was told later that this inspection should have happened initially, however they sent someone else out to inspect for damage, but he clarified that such inspections are really only for exterior damage, so not really very thorough. We have a carport that we decided not to include because the inspector said there was no evidence of termites there. Since fumigating the carport would have killed all the plants around it, we decided not to. But when the second inspector came to, as he put it, "clean up the other guy's mess" he found some pretty obvious evidence of termites in our carport. He said a lot of other disparaging things about the first inspector, who had clearly told us MANY things that were not true. So it would seem that Cal-Termites is not really concerned with customers getting incorrect information from their inspector/salespeople. I contacted the company explaining all of this, asking that they spot-treat our carport free of charge. But rather than hearing from management or anything, I and then received a call directly from the original inspector disputing what he had told me (as if he could clearly remember this inspection from over 2 months ago) and accusing me of "telling his boss" on him. The call felt entirely inappropriate and I'm still not clear if he was told to call me, or if he just found out about my complaint and called to intimidate me. Looking at a copy of the original inspection, there were no details or diagrams like in the second and no indication of termites in the carport. I pointed this out to the company along with letting them know about my concern over an angry employee contacting me about my complaint. The company offered to spot treat for a discounted price of $200. Insisting that this was a fair remedy for all of the incorrect information and uncomfortable phone call I'd received. A discount for sure, but still more than what it would have cost to fumigate the carport had I known there were termites there. read more

Termite treatment was completed as described and technician Luis was professional and respected the property, keeping his work area organized and clean. Luis was knowledgable and answered my questions with positive attitude, he helped assuage my anxiety about losing my house to termites. I haven't seen any new activity since treatment. The carpenter Jose finished replacing the damaged rafter tail this morning as scheduled. Jose was also great to work with as he addressed the repairs as if he was a pro. Not recommended. They spent 2.5 hours at my house to put in a few screens, and look around. They misses several holes which can be seen from the basement looking out due to sunlight coming out. They would not go into the basement. Said they just look around the outside. But obviously, they missed things and would not listen to suggestions. I spent a bunch of money and got some screens and traps. Got cats and that solved my mice problem, and are better looking. read more

We did a termite inspection and fumigation through Cal Termite, but Socal Fumigation owned by Rick Rodriguez is the name of the company that came out to do our fumigation. At no point in the process did anyone warn us about the potential of burglary during termite tenting (probably aside from some small print clause in the contract and instructions about removing valuables). They didn't tell us that all our windows would be left cracked open and that the house is not secured in any way during the fumigation. Rick mentioned to us--after the robbery--that of the 3000 or so homes he fumigates a year, he probably gets about 30 robberies. Even 1% risk is not acceptable if you are the one being robbed... CUSTOMERS SHOULD KNOW THIS. Unfortunately, during the first night of fumigation, the tent was cut open and our house was robbed. I learned later that these robberies are increasingly common. It is negligent (and frankly a little suspicious) that a company would not give owners an opportunity to be fully informed about the possibility of being robbed and take precautions to prevent it. This should be a best practice! Even better customer service would be to offer suggestions, or have security cameras or private security as an added service. The company proceeded to charge us the normal rate for the work as if nothing had happened. No one even reached out afterwards aside from doing the bare minimum to appear cooperative with the police. (I should add that I've used Cal Termite in the past for other pest issues and had no problem. This is why I was a return customer. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend them after this experience.) read more

I had a very poor experience with this company. They hired subcontractors to tent my house who damaged my roof tiles; unfortunately, no one took responsibility, leaving me with a $1,000 repair bill. While the subcontractors should have been more careful or declined the job, the primary company failed to oversee them. To make matters worse, a year later, I discovered an unauthorized charge on my credit card for a service never discussed. It is deeply concerning that they retained my payment info and are charging it without consent. Proceed with extreme caution when you sign anything ane especially if you have a tile roof. read more

Company does not apparently provide their technicians with the boot covers that are disposable and cheap to provide or he just did not use them on laziness. Either way the dirtiest boots were tracked in all over my house and my kitchen mat is destroyed, plastic trash bags were thrown on my kitchen island left there, my bedroom had a earring box knocked over and left That way, a jewelry box was knocked on the floor left there. He Cut flowers off my plumeria tree that finally bloomed, left rope tied around my tree didn't take it off after tent was removed he Left it there tied on my tree, my garden bed was trampled all over. I now have to pull them out and replant , the bedroom curtain was pulled aside and not pulled back. A Lampshade was bumped and left crooked. nothing was cleaned up. A professional company should provide their technicians with throw away cover booties if they're going to enter a home no matter what company it is. I've never seen that where companies don't. If a worker comes into a residence, it is common courtesy if you knock something over or damage it, put it back the way you left the house not trash place and leave it that way and say Tuff your problem. Whether it was Edgar being a bad employee or lazy or he wasn't trained properly or provided with the right way to do a job I don't know, but you should not have technicians that make a person's home, dirty and knock things over and not put it back the way they found it. read more
