Hello, This message is to inform you of my negative experience with your company today. I scheduled a visit and fumigation for today 4/7 (this was also coordinated with my apartment property management group). I set aside time for this appointment from 9am-11am, I have a regular 9-5 job so I had to coordinate time off for this visit. I checked in with your team at 9:30am for an eta, and hour later at 10:30am I was informed I would need to reschedule the appointment due to an access issue which your team knew since 9:01am. My issue here is 2 parts, one I was not given the courtesy of informing me the appointment would be canceled (which your team knew for an hour and a half). So I wasted my time off and I wasn't given the courtesy early on that the appointment was canceled or needed to be rescheduled. My 2nd issue is that there was no access issue as the technician stated because I was able to access my apartment without a problem. After talking with your staffing about how unprofessional this was, at 10:50 I was told the technician was on route, (so the access issue was not a problem?). So I canceled my already canceled appointment, I wasn't going to waste more of my time. Then to top it off, my apartment property management group told me that if I reschedule and cancel the appointment when the tech is on route, I would need to pay a trip fee. How ridiculous and absurd that I should be responsible for your teams lack of communication, accountability, and unprofessionalism. Instead of taking the opportunity to correct a negative experience your team doubled down. I would need to take time out of my day and job, to accommodate your team again, which has already proven they are unreliable and will point the finger at the customer. Terrible customer service, a complete lack of respect for your customer's time, and simply unreasonable. read more

We have a pretty had mouse infestation. To the point where we saw 4-5 mice in the kitchen one night. We had a company come by that gave us a quote for $5700. But, that included inspection, repair of holes, setting traps, cleaning rodent waste, sanitizing, checking and resetting traps weekly til mice are gone. They even gave a lifetime warranty. They were so thorough, they spent 2 hours doing the inspection. Hydrex? They came by and looked for maybe 20 minutes. Only on the outside of the house. Never came inside. Never went into the crawl space. Didn't go into the attic. Then they said they could repair holes and set traps and we would be responsible for cleaning and resetting traps.. unbelievable. It's like they didn't want business at all. Was a complete waste of our time. The owner before us is the one that recommended them because they used them here before but obviously they didn't get rid of the problem nor do they do what is needed. Completely lazy and ridiculous. We don't mind paying for quality work but this was much less than normal work. read more

I Worked with Jorge for rats in attic he is very respectful but i had a frustrating experience with this pest control company. Initially, they provided a good estimate, but the work they did was subpar and felt rushed. Despite my repeated requests for them to address the issues, they were unhelpful. Now I'm left with damage to my stucco, and other companies are unwilling to fix the mess. I tried to reach out to Scot, but our conversation was rushed, and he ended the call without offering any assistance. David responded very quickly and Cesar the technician was great! Right after the recent earthquake I found a flying cockroach in my kitchen!! Never ever have I had this issue! Cesar came and sprayed assuring me it will work since I was doubtful and freaked out over the size of this roach. Sure enough I found it dead on its back the next morning!! I can sleep at night and make coffee without this cockroach flying into my face like it almost did which had me screaming like a baby. I probably scared the heck out of the cockroach and neighbors with my screaming. Cesar stated that it wasn't the type to infest indoors so it must have somehow crawled up the pipes. The spray also helped my ant issue. I definitely would recommend this place. Family owned business which I am also supportive of as well. I contacted Hydrex Pest Control due to Gopher activity in my yard. Then came and treated holes in my front yard. Subsequently, new gopher activity happened. I re-contacted Hydrex. A technician named Alex came. He treated the new Gopher areas in both my front & back yards. I'm very pleased with this company. Alex was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. They were fine for termites, but they sub contract out the Wood Repair and that was a disaster (the wood repair guys never showed up and I wasted an entire day waiting because they claimed a "flat tire" when I called to see why they were late and said that they would be there in the next couple of hours but then never showed up). Hydrex tried to remedy the situation by offering me a discount off the wood repair but I was over it and didn't want to waste another day waiting, and decided to have my general contractor handle it instead. For Termites: They came out to do an inspection while I was in escrow, and everything went smoothly there. I scheduled for termite tenting the day after escrow closed, and my agent left a note with his phone number and a location where they could find a key to get in. They called me saying that no one was there and that they would leave in 15 minutes and have to reschedule if no one showed up to let them in (!). Luckily my agent was able to send his assistant out to remedy the situation, but it was a bit of an unnecessary fire drill. That being said, everything else went smoothly with the tenting and it was done and the tent removed on schedule. Note that any coupons you find on angie's list apply to PEST control only, not to termite tenting. This might be a better company for pest control than termites. read more

Herbert did my Subterranean termite work and he was patient to explain everything. The tenting crew was efficient and fast. Make sure you're there to let them in! The back wall of my garage actually borders my neighbor, so I had to arrange for their permission to put up the tent. There was no problem. The service was prompt and very good, but the technician talked too much and in an effort to sell the service, he recommended that the fumigation be done every two weeks, he scared my new tenant so much that he walked away from our year lease. But when I moved to West Hills the people covering that area came and sprayed all over my pets water bowl and when I was on paternity leave they did well but after my wife said they never came although I always found a bill in my mailbox. They were only spraying my front yard and not even knocking to come into the courtyard or back yard. Then when my wife called them they were sarcastic and rude on top of not doing their job. Hydrex doesn't really give a darn about their customers that they have had for over 10 years. I recently had our house tented. It went okay...besides the broken landscape lighting and wrecked landscape. That is expected. However, they refused to reimburse or work with us at all on the costs associated with having to schedule this twice, which was their fault!!!! Here is the bad news. We had been scheduled to tent 4 weeks ago, but they canceled literally at the last minute. My pets were boarded and we were on a plane so that we would be out of the house when I received a text that they had to cancel. The gas company wasn't able to get on the property to shut off the gas. I was told by Hydrex that I wasn't responsible for this from the beginning. Hydrex had my house and gate key. I wasn't the one on record for the gas company to notify if there was an issue. Gas company refused to return to my house that same day. The Hydrex rep was late to the property! We immediately rescheduled for 2 weeks out. Incurring another round of costs for boarding our pets, and this time for a hotel. They literally didn't even consider giving us a break. We have been using them every other month for pest control for over 10 years, but I'm done with them! read more

(Please note that my low rating only applies to Hydrex's treatment of FLEAS... they might be brilliant at killing other pests.) THE SHORT REVIEW: After two sprayings of chemicals so toxic, they made me sick, we still had a flea infestation. We finally called Fleabusters, who solved the problem. THE LONG REVIEW: A raccoon broke into our apartment building's crawlspace and infested the building with fleas (even though we're all super clean, have hardwood floors and no pets). We tried everything: 3 flea bombs, Insect Growth Regulator spray, sticky flea traps, vacuuming with a flea collar in the bag. Nothing worked, so our landlord hired Hydrex Pest Control because their quote was lower than other pest companies and they offered a 30-day guarantee. The guy came out and (I guess) sprayed our apartments and the one crawlspace we showed him. We came back the next day and the fleas were still there. After a few days, they were as bad as ever AND we had poisonous floors. So the guy came back and sprayed inside again. Same deal... floors we couldn't touch and tons of fleas. He told us he might have to come back several more times. I called Hydrex (admittedly not on my greatest form) and the lady said, "Ma'am, we're a control solution... not a cure." In other words, they could cut down the number of fleas but they couldn't get rid of them. Um, thanks, but I can pretty much do that myself. Our landlord was awesome and agreed to pay for Fleabusters to come out. Unlike poisons, which stop working after a while (the fleas build a resistance), Fleabusters uses a patented powder that kills fleas by drying them up. It's non-toxic and you can actually watch the guy do the job. First, Joel (FANTASTIC guy) gave me a mini-lesson on fleas and the Fleabusters process. Then he hunted all over our building for crawlspaces. He found four, including one we didn't even know was open. He pumped tons of powder into them, which billowed out of connected holes in the walls & floors and flushed out a bunch of gasping roaches, who quickly died. Bonus! Next, he spent two hours spreading the powder into our baseboards, the wells of our furniture and into the cracks in our hardwood floors. He warned us that it could take a couple of weeks to start working, but we've only seen two live fleas since he powdered. The best part: Fleabusters offers a one-year guarantee. That covers next year's flea season, too! I know I sound like I'm trying to sell something, but my goal is to stop you from making the same mistake we did. If we'd skipped Hydrex (and this applies to Orkin, Dewey and all the others) and gone straight for Fleabusters, we would've saved $300, fixed our problem 2-3 weeks earlier and saved days of coughing and washing clothes, dishes and sticky, toxic floors. Btw, if money is an issue, I understand that Fleabusters sells its powder online. You can't really pump it into crawlspaces like they did, but you can DIY in your house. Good luck! read more

Great folk! I needed a job done right away regarding spiders, ants, etc. in student housing I own down at the University of Southern California. Called them, talked to Millie in Customer Service she understood that I needed someone ASAP (when other organizations wanted to do an estimate next week and then come out the following week. NEVER US THIS UNLICENSED COMPANY!! Albert came with a spray apparatus and when he realized that nothing was taken out from the cupboards since no one notified me to do so, he promptly left and returned with a tube of roach gel. I asked if he could at least spray behind the fridge and stove, he told me to move them...even though I'm disabled, and never offered to help me move them. He never sprayed. Instead, he went around dabbing the gel WITH HIS BARE HANDS (I even offered him gloves...he refused) in corners and crevaces which took all of 3 minutes. I asked for a follow up to spray and I insisted he bring his LICENSE, since the main office refused to fax it or even tell me over the phone. He cancelled the follow up claiming I was "trouble". read more

After 20 years of having my house serviced by Hydrex every month Inside and outdoor i just found the bill stuck in the main door. The technician did not even bother to ring the bell, talk to the staff and have the inside treated. I called for explanation and they said we'll call you back. Never to hear. So I persisted and was told that we had to leave the house for few hours. We have a good size house on 3 floors. The basement is always been serviced and doors are then closed. The rooms that are serviced in the rest of the house are always closed after. So I cancelled their services. The receptionist is the rudest person you can come across. read more
