I purchased a newer used SUV from GMC Brooksville, driving home I realized I had a cracked windshield. WA told by GMC that my insurance would cover it - what! I then within a week started having ignition problems, I would hit the button to start the car and it would just continue to try to turn over but when you catch. They can't figure out what's wrong with it so I live with it. Then 2 months in not only the battery goes but the auxiliary battery so I call my salesperson they tell me to bring it up they will help did they help yep they took $7 off the bill and yes I mean $7. I will never use GMC in Brooksville again. I try to be fair when leaving reviews, but this experience with Buick GMC of Brooksville left me disappointed. Before visiting, I had both phone and email communication and was very clear that I didn't want to make an hour-long drive unless we were reasonably close on price. I was reassured that we were, especially given it was the last day of the month and quarter and that they would be willing to work with me. When I arrived, the person I had been communicating with wasn't even there, and the sales team had no awareness of our prior conversation. I had to explain everything again from the beginning. I also made it clear I wanted to discuss numbers before test driving to ensure we were aligned. The numbers presented were not close to what had been implied. The out-the-door price I expected to be around $62,000 was significantly higher. The sales manager even verbally suggested a lower number in person, only for that number to change again after I left, increasing by nearly $2,000. To their credit, everyone was polite, but the overall process felt disorganized and inconsistent. I understand negotiation is part of buying a vehicle, but clear communication and transparency matter, especially when someone is traveling a significant distance based on what they've been told. I took my car to Brooksville GMC to repair engine damage caused by a rodent. The Service Advisor didn't contact me with any updates for the first four days. I had to call in, wait on hold, be transferred to different departments, and had to leave voicemails. The advisor would tell me when the repairs would be complete. That would be followed up with another delay in the repairs being finished. (Parts being shipped, mechanics couldn't complete a repair, etc.) The final kick in the head came when I picked up the car. I was charged for several items I did not approve. Since my Advisor was unavailable, I spoke to another Advisor. He called my Advisor, and I was told the charges were correct. A Supervisor got involved. He was unwilling to discuss the extra charges. The bottom line is that I should just pay the bill. If it's on the invoice, then it's correct. There is no opportunity to question Brooksville GMC. Padding an invoice seems to be standard practice. Nobody at the dealership seemed surprised that a customer was complaining about over-charges. Obviously, enough new customers are coming in the doors that Brookville GMC can treat their customers poorly and expect they'll just suck it up. read more

Been doing research for over a year on the used Jag we wanted. Buick GMC Brooksville had it on their site, although it was priced at the extreme top of market value, which is over priced to begin with. When we asked questions, Kayce in their sales dept assured us the vehicle was in excellent condition because their "certified master technicians inspect every vehicle". When they couldn't answer basic questions we were told that they are GMC technicians so they don't know about Jags. Even when Joe their general sales manager took over they ignored basic questions and said we should pay to take it to Tampa Jag 41 miles away and inspect it. I'm writing this as we drive to Jacksonville to purchase a car from Jaguar Jacksonville where they answered every question and went out of their way to help. WTH Brooksville? Do NOT go there...the "small town" car shop is gone! The service department charged me for a part THEY BROKE. Did not call me to get authorization on anything. I found out at check out that i had to pay. He took it to his "manager" and they denied and said I had to pay for it. I have owned and operated vehicles for 40 years and never experienced a situation that was handled so poorly and without regard for the person paying for the repairs. I will never go back! Showed up for a 9am appointment at 8:50am On 06/26 for a recommended tire replacement. At 10:40 am the service rep informed me that the wrong size tires were ordered. Wasted gas, travel and waiting room time and didn't as much as a car wash or apology! Had bad experience with previous owners, figured I'd give the new ones a chance. Will not be returning. Don't sign anything digitally. Previously bought two new Buicks there but no consideration for Customer loyalty. Asked GM for a credit but basically told "you signed it, you own it". Given a $63 oil change as a goodwill gesture. Read and agree to all added items. Lost trust in sales department. I have been using This Location To Service my Buick since 2017. Donna on the Service department is always friendly and very knowledgeable. It was always easy to get in and out until a couple of years ago when this dealer was sold to a big conglomerate And this has changed things a little bit. BEWARE. This dealership engages in blatantly devious pricing practices on AutoTrader. They listed a truck I was interested in for around $54K (with no caveats suggesting additional costs), but once I contacted them to confirm the price, it magically rose to over $81K! When confronted with this discrepancy, they glibly referred to the (very) fine print on AutoTrader's site that allows for dealer uplifts. I am certain that AutoTrader's intent is not for dealers to hide such a huge number and suspect that these practices may also violate Florida's truth in advertising laws (TBD). Upon further inspection of their website, many of their vehicles are priced this way........no wonder the auto industry continues to suffer from bad reputations. read more

Needing to get my 2024 GMC truck serviced. And the sarcasm coming just through the phone line from the receptions to the advisor. I finally got to speak with. Is any indication of the type of service that I would receive! Most definitely would rather drive/ tow to any other dealership. After calling multiple times, cause the day before not receiving a return call from my voicemail left. I wanted to speak with a person. Asking the receptionist if anybody was working in service at 8:45. Was wrong on my part.. to be explained they are 6 cars deep and only 4 staff member. Okay, I was more thinking maybe no one was picking up the phone for maybe they didn't start till 9:00! But I was educated. Transferred again to service. No answer, I didn't leave a message. Got a call from an advisor saying "returning a call to this number". I explained my situations ( please understand the tone of negative, just radiating through the phone) my energy was starting to match. When I say that my dash lights up like a Xmas tree all lights coming on. She says there are 16 lights. I need to know which to know where to send you. At that point I didn't fully understand they would have a different mechanic, for each light! When only having four people to answer a phone. I politely wrapped up the call with, I wouldn't be bringing my truck to you. First impressions are something they need to have a handbook, refresher class in at this dealership. read more

I've been a long time Buick customer and purchased/leased many Buicks. My last Buick was a lease which just expired. With the current high new car costs and high interest rates I decided to purchase my car that went to end of lease. My lease contract stated the fixed buyout price and that there were NO additional dealer fees. When going over the contract to purchase my car there was a $999 dealer fee. I asked why. Their response was they don't honor contracts from Rick Mathews Buick who leased me the car. I don't how the new owner, Buick GMC Brooksville can just decide not to honor contracts from Rick Mathews Buick. I was sent to Brooksville GMC Buick by Crystal Chrysler down the road. I have a Pacifica I love with less than 7,000 miles and tires that require nitrogen instead of air. Crystal Chrysler no longer carries nitrogen to fill their customers' tires!!!!! The service department at Brooksville Buick took care of me immediately and wouldn't let me pay them for the nitrogen or their service. Took a Lexus RX 350 into the Rick Matthews collision center with a front left fender that some nice person ran into and decided to depart the parking lot. Anyway, their was no insurance company involved. From the time I walked into their offices of Rick Matthews I was treated with the upmost respect and dignity. The receptionist was so kind and pleasant. She immediately got me in front of Bryan Heter the assistant manager and estimator. Another super friendly and knowledgeable person. We walked the car together and he than took me through the entire repair process and cost estimate. Today, after dropping the vehicle off this past Monday morning I received a call that the vehicle would be ready at 3:00 PM. Pick-up was also a pleasant experience and the vehicle looked brand new. I would like first to start off by saying Tim the salesman is by far the best in the business and super easy to deal with! He's been excellent to me and my family. I would highly recommend doing business with him! Now the reason why I'm leaving this 1 star review is because of the experience I've had here at the service department at Rick Matthews. I few months back I took my truck in for a oil change and had my A/c fixed on my 2017 Sierra Denali. With that being said I went home and flew out for Texas for work. At the time my Wife was driving my truck. She told me often that there was noise coming from the engine compartment and I told her i would check it when I got home. So I got home and open the hood to find a half can of "Throttle body cleaner" laying in my engine bay. Which is "Highly Flammable" I Can't imagine what if the bottle that was left by a mechanic rolled into my fan or belts. Or even the can itself blew up, with my Fiancé and my 5 month in the truck. So today 12/22/20 I took my truck in for a oil change and new tires and to tell the service department about this issue. I talked to the service manger about this issue and it was like talking to a wall. The way he treated this matter is just unbelievable. Never apologized, nothing. He told me the "highly Flammable" "can was not going to explode anyways" He never seemed concerned about my family or my safety at all. I'm a loyal customer and easy to go with. But when you put my fiancé, myself, and my 5month old at risk there's is no way I'm returning. I'm NEVER dealing them again. read more

I would give zero stars if an option! Worst Experience We took our Hummer H3 to the collision center as they are an authorized GM dealer and were on the approved repair shops our insurance company provided us. Upon dropping it off the technician was rude and said that some of the items we wanted check were no way related to the accident. (even though they were not an issue prior to the accident). We explained that our insurance company had opened a claim and they could discuss with them, but we wanted everything checked out as we had just replaced the transmission and alternator prior to the accident and wanted to be ensured that everything was okay. That does NOT seem like an abnormal request. We also had a TPM error message and did not know what that meant, but it came on literally as soon as the accident happened. The technician treated my husband like he was scum. He seemed put out that we were asking to have our vehicle repaired saying "It's not really even that bad". Regardless of how bad it was, someone hit us, and we should not have to live with ANY damage, especially something not caused by us. Fast forward to a week later, we go to pick our vehicle up. The low tire light was one when my husband picked up the vehicle and he got out to look at the tires, finding a nail. He mentioned it to a technician who said yes and took it back to the technician who worked on the vehicle. The original technician, Brian, threw a thorn at my husband and said, "It's a F#*@ing thorn, not a nail." When my husband asked why the low tire light was on, he said it was because the sensor was bad on the TPM. My husband pushed for some clarification and he said, "You have been giving me "S@&T since you dropped off your truck". My husband got a general manager who took the truck back to be fixed. At this point, my husband caved and paid the fee to have the sensors replaced to confirm this was the issue. Once the front two were done, the back one ironically quick working. When my husband was speaking to the general manger, he had to leave to deal with a more pressing issue. The truck is now home and leaking transmission fluid all over our driveway- clearly, they did NOT check the transmission as promised. They also do NOT know how to repair a vehicle as the fender is not even clipped on. We have reported all of this to our insurance company but want to make sure nobody else makes this same mistake. read more

Service sucks I bought a new terrain 21 from Rivard. I had a issue only 600 miles screen quit working, so I took it to Rick and they wouldn't give me a loaner. I spent several hours at Rick Matthews today talking to a sales rep about buying a used car. When I asked for the paperwork that they wanted me to sign right then and there I asked for the paperwork to look over and review overnight . The sales rep abruptly removed the paperwork with the only explanation of "they don't provide the paperwork". I was told"I could come back the next day and sign it." It was a substantial sum of money and they made me feel as though there was something not on the up and up . Why would they not allow time to review it? Needless to say, I won't be returning because I found this to not be customer friendly. Don't waste your time if you aren't prepared to sign immediately. read more

Since I ended up not purchasing a vehicle from this dealership, I feel that their web site and their initial email was very misleading.  It clearly states on both the "cash price" as well as the "selling price" that this truck is selling for $81,960 as well as the sticker price on the truck.  I remember talking with someone and don't recall the context of the conversation, but I certainly would remember if a $15,000 adjustment had been mentioned.  After driving for 3 hours to see this truck, I was really impressed and really wanted this truck.  But after our salesperson's presentation of the numbers and the dealership adding $15,000 in adjustments for "fair market value" I felt very duped and very disappointed.  Your web site has no mention of this "adjustment".  I was totally prepared to purchase this truck today, but I felt that this dealership was just trying to take advantage of me and wasting 6 hours of my day.  Very disappointed in this dealership!  I would have gladly paid the sticker price on this truck...... read more

Hello to all that read reviews, this is the second time I'm writing an unsatisfactory review on Rick Matthews Buick GMC located in Brooksville, FL Back in 7/31/2018 my review was regarding sales tactics based on false advertisement. Mailers sent to people homes stating that they want your car, with claims to pay up to $4000 above Black value. They wasted my time with false hopes. This dealership and there representative have no respect and it's clear in order to get customer to there dealer, they need to lie. Several weeks ago I contact Mr. Rick Matthew's the owner, and told them to remove my contact information from there mailing list and explained for the reasons. A couple of weeks afterward I get a voicemail from a representative soliciting for a car deal. And just yesterday I just got another mailer advertising and wanting my trade. Where does this stop, getting these false advertisement. People beware don't be naive. A good deal is when they pay you what you want on your trade, when you dictate your monthly payment you want, and finally they except your first offer on the car you want to buy. They have no respect for senior citizen and disable Vietnam veterans. My advice shop first, go online, avoid sitting in a dealership for 3 to 5 hours. read more

Do not buy here. The sales group with the finance group are dishonest and deceptive. Negotiate a price and they up charge you without any discussion or approval of the charge. They up charged me almost $1400 plus this Extra profit amount of $599/95 which I told them I would not pay. If a dealer can't price their cars with a profit, then they have no business being a dealer. My wife and I wondered why the total finance amount was so high so did reverse math and found the charge. The sales man denied it but then stated oh yes, we need to schedule in for pin striping but there was a pin strip on it when I bought it. I learned something new today-if you are going to buy a new vehicle, before signing papers, go to the most popular restaurant near the dealership and speak to anyone you can to get feedback about that dealership so that you will not be in the predicament that I am in. My name is George Green and I went to Texas Roadhouse on Cortez Blvd(SR50) in Brooksville today after picking up a new truck that I purchased at Rick Matthews GMC/Buick not even 2 weeks ago that is damaged-both bumpers are crooked, there are paint issues, and the bed is now crooked-because of Rick Matthews GMC/Buick. They slanted the bed to make to the rear bumper look even and now the bed is not in line with the cab. (Less than 2 wks old) a 2019 GMC SIERRA 2500HD DURAMAX. Anyway the point of my story is that I spoke to 3 different people about the problems I am having and all 3 had a friend or family member that had nothing but negative things to say about Rick Matthews GMC/Buick. I have also spoke to Tommy the Service Manager and asked him for a copy of the full Disclosure of the truck from it being built to it being delivered. He said that he did not know how to get that, I hope he has not been in the car business that long. He also actually told me that because it's a cheaper truck(which I paid $53,000 for) that the steel stamped bumpers are not forged exact and that the more expensive trucks with molded bumpers (which by the way-I see lots of Denalis with steel bumpers that are straight that are $30 to $60,000 more. If the bumpers were straight on my truck it would have been a more expensive truck. Those were his EXACT words. He also said that we do not build them, we just sell them. Well then Rick Matthews GMC, I guess you should make it a point to sell a better quality product or at least provide a Disclaimer stating that the cheaper $53,000 trucks have crooked bumpers. Anybody who wants to comment on this I will be more than willing to send pics to friends, family, or employees because I know you will all put your Likes and Positive comments on this, which are BS. I have been asking for a week now to speak to a GMC Rep and have been getting the run-around by Denise who is their Customer Relations Rep. As of tomorrow I will be putting in a claim with GMC Corporate and taking the truck to another body shop to have them tell me that the bed has been moved because you can see where the bolts were moved from the factory application. The body shop at Rick Matthews does not want to realign the bed. I am following the steps that my lawyer has told me to do. I also asked Denise to get me in contact with someone higher up even Rick Mattews himself and still no phone call. There are 3 more things to do-BBB, Facebook, and Twitter.
