Located near the heart of the Buena Vista neighborhood is a small local grocery store with a lot of history. Buie's carries many local products as well as some healthier national brands. My wife heard about this place and we were in the area so, we thought we would check it out on a rainy Saturday afternoon. It was not very busy when we arrived. It is located in a building with several other establishments and has a nice size parking lot, we found parking easily. Shortly after walking in the back door and scanning through the "ready to cook and eat" frozen items we were greeted by a gentleman who asked if he could help us. We explained we had heard about them and had decided to stop in. We learned a good bit of information from him and he was very friendly and helpful Buie's is named after the historic Buie's Pharmacy which occupied the space decades ago. Wayne Buie, operated a pharmacy on the same site for many years. They are open everyday from 7am to 9pm and have a full espresso bar, 8 draft taps and wine by the glass They host weekly wine and beer tastings which we were told get very busy. Beer on Wednesday's and wine on Thursday's. They even have a fun Smoothi machine where you can make your own smoothies. And the popcicle and ice cream options for your kids (or yourself!) are endless. I purchased a discounted beer and we had to try a slice of the Banana Pudding Cheesecake by DJ's. It was delicious! They also have some Buie's merch and items such as succulents as well. The prices are higher than average (think Whole Foods pricing). But, they also have items you will likely not find many other places. Our only complaint was on many of the items we did not see pricing information and it felt a bit awkward to inquire with the employee. It would be helpful if the items had prices on them or at least on the cooler/freezer doors so you don't experience sticker shock when checking out. Very cool experience and a quaint and charming neighborhood market!

Great space and environment! The people, both customers and crew are really nice. We love the variety of unique products and local offerings. And of course the beer on tap doesn't hurt our feelings. It's becoming one of our favorite places to hang out

My haul: $25 for four craft beers and three slices of cheesecake. One beer already bit the dust at the time of this photo.

This store is exactly what I was looking for! I came upon it searching for a location to buy DJs cheesecake I had been hearing about on Facebook- and it is absolutely fabulous. That is just one of the many local brands that they carry. This is a pretty small store which carries some of your standard issue needs, they have a little coffee/drink cafe station but the real draw to me is that this is a trove for finding tons of local brands in one place. They have a huge amount of cold cases with things like chicken pies and other ready to heat and eat items I think we will try in the future. Also local sauces, some local produce, cases with local meats like Joyce Farms chicken. A big draw to me that I didn't anticipate- mark downs. I love to eat local, I love food in general and I live for a good deal. I will add this to my rotation of places I check for good mark downs- I scored some craft beers and even two of my cheesecake slices were 25% off. If you're interested in trying some local brands this is a great way to check them out in one place- it felt like an indoor farmers market kind of! Highly recommend this sweet little store.

Saw this little market mentioned in Our State magazine. After running a few errands on Stratford Road decided to check it out. There is a mini bar inside with several beer on tap. A nice wine selection and special beers in the cooler. They keep Joyce Farms meats and other specialty items and cheeses. Frozen meals from The Porch (Tex-Mex) and frozen ravioli. Picked up one to try. It's well worth a stop if you are in the area.

Best addition to the neighborhood in decades! This is the absolute greatest place for a great coffee, excellent beer, and any miscellaneous groceries you might need. It's a spacious place to have a drink (beer, wine, or great coffee), shop, or relax. We were able to pop in here on Christmas to grab a few last minute items and a coffee - perfect place. They have a great selection of cheeses, crackers, organic foods, anything you might need for a quick meal or appetizers. Their beer & wine selection is unparalleled - we found some amazing local brews and enjoyed walking up and trying new ones! Did I mention how good their coffee is too?! So smooth, rich, and with alternative milks. This is my favorite place in the neighborhood - welcome, Buie's!

Part of bar area and also shopping area.

This is a fun place to go to hang out with friends and get coffee (they have mochas, cider, cold brew, a bar area to drink it at). My friends and I ride bikes here on the weekends and it is very helpful because of how close it is to everyone's houses!

If you've never been or heard about their subs, they're definitely worth checking out. Made fresh, in front of you using premium ingredients, and made just how you want it, they give sub shops a lot to stand up to. After a quick review of the menu we ordered the Sweet Bo's Chicken Philly. The guy helping us in the deli didn't hold back, didn't skimp on the ingredients and made it perfectly cheesy even toasting it twice until it was exactly as we wanted. After checking out we decided to stop in to their small cafe area to eat quickly as we could see it was juicy and didn't want to make a mess eating it in the car. The sandwich was absolutely delicious with lots of chopped chicken, bell peppers, mushrooms and we switched from American cheese to provolone...it absolutely hit the spot and curbed our hanger. I'd never stoped at this public before, but would again, it was very well kept and clean, and I'd definitely get this sandwich again given the opportunity!

Their other olive selections - greek style, mixed with feta, and lemon based, plus their seasoned mushrooms are also delicious. On weekends, they usually have tastings which makes shopping much more fun. And as a perks member, I do get treats for my birthday, half birthday, and anniversary, as well as decent $2 ff $10 coupons occasionally. Service is always polite and speedy, which I appreciate. Bonus points to this location for having EV charging available. Can be nice to juice up while shopping.
