Okay this spot is SO CUTE. Located in downtown Winston-Salem, it was one of the only coffee shops open at 7am in the area. I came in desperate for a quick hit of caffeine. I got an ube iced latte and then a raspberry and cream cheese danish. Both were absolutely delightful and came out relatively quickly. This is a great place to stop in if you're in the area. If I had the time, it also looked like a good spot to do some teleworking. They have large windows that look out onto downtown, and it lets in a lot of natural light. read more

Cool little coffee shop that is much larger than expected. Walking in the size of it caught me off-guard. Nice countet space with bakery items displayed, a cooler with cold beverages, and inside & patio seating. Friendly & helpful staff who stayed busy preparing drink orders for a steady flow of customers. We (party of 4 plus one child) had different types of drinks, some hot, some cold and shared a desert. My selection was a Chai Latte, not bad, maybe a little hotter would have been better. My wife ordered a drip coffee, which they made a fresh pot for her. Which was nice. Sadly, this one was a miss for me. I did my homework and saw that the magical latte was a fan favorite.... but unfortunately, it just tasted like cinnamon water to me. I like my lattes sweet, creamy and smooth. This one missed the mark on all 3. The display case for the baked goods was lackluster as well. Everything looked small and like it was just taken out of the freezer to defrost on the plate. If you're gonna have bakery in your name - I would step up your game a little bit. We just moved to the area for a travel work position and decided to stop here after lunch. I ordered two macarons (mimosa and chocolate). The mimosa was light and flavorful without being overpowering. It was a subtle flavor but pleasant. The chocolate was exactly what you'd expect from a chocolate macaron, which was good. It had a rich chocolate flavor but wasn't too heavy. I did walk with it on a warm day, so it began to melt a bit. But overall, it was still enjoyable. My fiancé ordered the ginger cookie. He liked it. It has a crust of sugar on top and had a nice ginger taste. The texture was soft but didn't fall apart easily. The server at the cash register was helpful. We asked what the Santiago dessert was, and he explained thoroughly. He also asked if the macarons could be in the same box instead of assuming. We didn't stay in long enough to get a vibe necessarily, but everyone sitting inside seemed to be at ease and enjoying their time. We will return to try more. read more

What a tasty treat! We got a broccoli and cauliflower quiche slice and a strawberry danish. Both were great. A little savory and a little bit of sweet. There was plenty of seating and the space felt roomy and bright, plus a cute little Art-o-Mat in the corner! We had to heat up our own quiche, which seemed a little weird, but atleast they did have a microwave and heating suggestions. My wife and I stopped in for a small bite while we were in Winston delivering art to a gallery, and decided to grab a small bite. Did a quick yelp search, and found Camino wasn't too far from where we were. We walked over and found it clustered in a nice area with several restaurants we've visited in the past. There was a short line, and only one person taking/making orders behind the counter. I couldn't figure out what the other two were doing, but he was able to keep the line moving fairly fast. We ordered a slice of quiche and a Danish to share. We asked for the quiche to have to have there, and the Danish to go, so asked to have it heated. They said they couldn't heat any food, but pointed us in to the microwave in the dining area which was a bit odd to me. Otherwise, the food was tasty. They've got a good bit of a seating inside with a laid back, relaxed feel. They've got some art on the walls, assuming from local artists for sale. They also have a small patio out front on the sidewalk. We did need to use the bathroom before leaving, which are locked, and you need to ask the staff for code to use them, which isn't something we're used to. read more

I wanted some real espresso and found this adorable coffee house and bakery. The staff is super friendly and the cashier suggested the gluten free apple pie muffin and the orange cranberry loaf. I had been to the other Camino bakery location in Winston-Salem, but I have never been to this one. This last weekend I visited with a friend and I ordered an oat milk latte with magic and maple syrup. It was absolutely delicious! Service was quick, kind, and my drink was hot I could definitely see this being a great place to come and spend a few hours working on a laptop while sipping on a delicious drink or enjoying a tasty pastry. There is also a lot of outdoor seating that offers an exciting view of the street and sidewalk that makes for great people watching. Though I preferr the vibe of the Camino bakery on Brookstown Avenue, today I decided to go back into this location where I used to hang out after church. The barista was very kind and helpful offering me many different pastries. Though I was tempted to try the almond croissant I declined. Of course I ordered my usual coffee, which is an oat milk Mocha latte with a little cinnamon powder blended in to the espresso. It was absolutely positively delicious! I could really taste the richness and boldness of the espresso and it wasn't too sweet at all! That is the problem at a lot of Coffee houses. They put much too much of the syrup in and it's always too sweet but here they make all of the syrups and the chocolate one is not too sweet at all. The espresso has the best flavor and texture. There was also music playing in the background that was beautiful. Although it was a little pricey at eight dollars and change, I am thankful that I didn't have to pay for it as the Panamanian man who helped me paid for it! read more

I like to come to Camino for morning and afternoon caffeine breaks. The matcha latte is made perfectly. Skip adding a syrup and add it yourself after the drink is made. Overall, there were options for everyone and so many different latte flavors and pastry options- sweet and savory! Pro: We loved the latte flavors we got (magical and Persian). They tasted great and were not too sweet. They were also very accommodating when I asked for 2% and were able to make it out of the options they had (half whole and half skim). Con: My 12 ounce latte somehow came out to be more expensive than my fiancé's 16 ounce latte. Would I go back? Yes definitely! After two visits I needed to make a review. I am in love with this little cafe and definitely need to keep coming to try more items on their menu. First time I got their summer strawberry matcha they make the strawberry sauce in house and it's authentic matcha. Completely delicious drink. Now visit number 2 was today I tried their Peachy Maté from their summer menu. My husband got an iced Americano and a slice of tiramisu. I didn't try either of his things don't like tiramisu and I don't like unsweetened coffee. He says they were both well made. This place is women owned they have a cute sign in the bathroom. All the staff I have interacted with have been nice and polite. They also have daily specials and rotating cake menu. Definitely will be back to explore more of their menu. This bakery was a nice hidden gem in the heart of downtown Winston-Salem. The agenda for the visit was to get a nice hot chocolate and a dessert while completing coursework in a quiet setting. Love that it's walkable during nice weather and plenty of seating (including tables with chess/checker boards) both inside and outside. Cute little bakery in a cute little town. I didn't have the appetite to try any of their pastries, but they all looked delicious. I had a slice of the four-cheese quiche and a cafe mocha. Both were average. The quiche is kept at fridge temperatures in their display case, and that's how it's served. I asked the clerk if she could heat it up, but she just pointed me to the microwave and made me do it myself. Of course, I didn't put enough time on it, so when I got on the road, I realized it was still cold. Otherwise, it tasted good. My mocha had solid particles at the bottom, which I assume were from powdered chocolate. But anyway, not a great texture when those get into your mouth. I did like the latte art though. read more

Love them, love the vibe, love the service. I've eaten their stuff at a number of workplace events, but hadn't come in as often. Brought some friends from PA who are gluten free, and we were all genuinely impressed at the range of options. Happy to have a spot in High Point where we can get their breads but for the best sweets head to their 4th St spot in Winston! A clean, spacious seating area and friendly service too off the experience! My only frustration is when dining in not being served on a proper plate or with a proper coffee cup. This is your go to coffee shop in downtown Winston Salem. I love the new renovated look. Still a place where people sit with laptops, or meet with friends or just pick up and go. The service is great and the line moves quick. They have some fabulous Pastries and desserts. Some savory bites as well. Their coffee is good and the menu changes seasonally. I love their specials. I really liked this little downtown spot. It was more like a dessert or breakfast cafe, but offers great coffee and tea options, wine and beer. It's clean and modern inside. The servers were very nice and the young guy even gave me a suggestion for a gluten free treat. That treat, death by chocolate brownie was tasty, as was my husband's slice of cheesecake (though it was a bit on the heavy/dense side. The vibe of this downtown location is very cool.
