I took my daughter a few days ago for her birthday. When I walked in nobody greeted us . Then when we were all done and ready to pay no one was at the register but I did hear a lot of laughter and talking in the back I was waiting for 5 minutes. The staff looked miserable to be working there. Not as magical as I hoped. I won't be coming back to this location. I would like to see the staff more happy and talkative towards the kids. read more

I had the best experience I was trying to get to any kind Pokémon stuff animal "last minute Christmas shopping" for my little brother, I had a good time here at build a bear I got one for my brother i got myself 1 too. I haven't done this since I was a kid, the staff was great and wonderful help me it was fun doing the singing part for the heart and the birth certificate. I went to get 3 of my older build a bears restuffed and the lady who took care of them for me (Toni) was AMAZING! She's so sweet and took her time making sure both the restuffing and restitching were done with care. She was also very easy to talk to; nothing felt awkward or forced. 10/10 would recommend going and having Toni help you out! My experience was great!! read more

I was excited to get a build a bear for the first time in honor of our recent miscarriage. It's Valentine's Day and it would have helped heal the heart. The mall opens at noon and they're closed. Finally called mall management and they said they'll be closed for two weeks until the end of the month. Which could only mean possible COVID OUTBREAK?! But there were NO SIGNS stating they'll be closed for that time period. Like people were standing by not knowing they were wasting their time. Bad business move. Before my son was born and up until he was a year old we went once a month to this place, to create bears for him. In total we had a few dozen, and eventually got rid of them all. They are no quality bear toys, the material is too thin, they have the wrong feel no matter how much you stuff them, and I can not stand the lines and noise. You pay anywhere from $15-30 for a bear, then you have to pay another $2-10 to dress it. I prefer the quality of Vermont Teddy Bear Co. Of course, there is a mobile Bear lady who comes to the house and does the same thing for parties, that seems like it would be a better b-day fit, no general public to contend with. read more

The child has a hand in creating the bear and choosing the outfits, but some of these bears' outfits are more expensive than some of my kids' outfits. Each year the company sends my daughter a $5 giftcard for her birthday, and it's a good opportunity to reinforce the lesson of not spending more than you have. The employees are very nice. read more

This place is really great for kids! They have creative bears to make, and cool oufits to choose from! It's a really good place to take the kids if your in the mall! Not as cheap as other toy stores, but its defenitly worth it! read more

Excellent location. Mary, one of the employees there went out of the way for my son to make sure he had the bear he wanted when his favorite one was discontinued. She happened to have one in her personal collection at home and gave it to us! We will always remember that and come back whenever we have the chance. I went with friends and my daughter after the big promotion and went in to use our coupon. The store was a bit busy, even for a weekday but no big deal. Your employees working the Bear station were doing a great job! My problem was your store manager, Juan. Being a retail manager myself I was completely appalled by how he was treating myself and other customers. For one, no hello, no smile nothing friendly. I didn't know he was the store manager at the time. We waited quite a long time in line and I was not able to find anybody to answer my coupon question, so I had to wait in line regardless. Juan continued to give special exceptions to MANY customers in front of me. So when I got up to the register I asked about my coupon, heard he made exceptions for other customers and just wondered. He didn't let me use the coupon, and it was fine. It was how he spoke to me and I could see he clearly didn't even listen to me. When I said I didn't want the items he still rang them up anyways. He was short with all his words with me and abruptly replying with "mhmm" "mhmm" and ZERO eye contact. He then proceeded to tell me that the customers in front of me took the extra time to do certain things with their membership and that's why he gave them the exception. So in other words, your SM Juan told and showed me my time as a Build a Bear customer was totally worthless. After his poor communication and me feeling pretty frustrated I asked who the store manager was and he said it was him. I purchased a little clothing item regardless because I wanted his information and proof of my terrible experience. He shoved me off! No thank you, nothing. I was still trying to ask him a question and WAS ignored. I couldn't even believe how he acted. Like I said, I have been a retail manager for over 10 years and never in my store would somebody on my team treat a customer so abruptly and push them off. I am completely disgusted that that's how the Fox Valley Mall store manager represents himself and his team. I will never support that store again and would hope that your company as whole doesn't promote that kind of customer service. Again, I am totally disgusted with Juan's actions and words. I could almost understand if he was a new employee in training with zero customer service skills. Never in my life have I had a store manager just ignore me. I was so disappointed in Juan's actions and I have not forgotten. I did go to BABWCares.com and gave my feedback minutes after leaving that store, emailed your company that day and never a single response. Two months later and not a single apology. It would of simply been resolved had Juan just said, "I'm sorry." My hope is that Juan can receive the help he needs from his District Manager and not single customer gets treated the way I was treated by Juan because he defiantly ruined the BAB experience for my family. My daughter had her 6th birthday party in Build a Bear located in Fox Valley mall. The whole process of choosing and booking the party was effortless allowing for easy changes. People working in the shop were super nice. Cristina was our party leader. She kept kids busy and entertained. We had 23$ per person package and they made sure we got our money worth. They could choose a bear up to 16$ and an outfit on the hanger where some of them were 18$. They had a bogo promo in the store so maybe it had something to do with it. Having a party there is like buying in bulk, you get a lot of discounts and coupons. Overall the party was a huge success and everybody was very happy. Who wouldn't like the birthday party where not only the birthday person gets gifts?! read more
