    Open mall
    Chris N.

I was excited to get a build a bear for the first time in honor of our recent miscarriage. It's Valentine's Day and it would have helped heal the heart. The mall opens at noon and they're closed. Finally called mall management and they said they'll be closed for two weeks until the end of the month. Which could only mean possible COVID OUTBREAK?! But there were NO SIGNS stating they'll be closed for that time period. Like people were standing by not knowing they were wasting their time. Bad business move. But FYI: the closest BAB is in Oakbrook.

A hidden gem! A guaranteed adventure awaits you every time you visit Treasures. Mike & his team…read moreare so much fun and their passion for games and family fun is evident. Share with them games your family loves and they know all about every game in the store and will give you recommendations for something else you'll enjoy. They have TONS of games you won't have heard of (and plenty of the ones you have but didn't know you needed) and are the perfect guides to finding your next Family Game Night fun. We never leave there without a smile and owe a lot of our game collection to them. They are the BEST!!!

The team is great at suggesting collaborative or competitive games for your friends and family--whatever your budget. The selection is always changing, so I pop in frequently to see what's new and to ask him to teach me how to play the game! When they don't have what I want in stock, they can often order it for me. This most recent visit we played *Oh My Pigeon* as I was seeking games that could be fairly easily explained to foreign visitors.

Treasures - Oh My Pigeon doesn't take a lot of time or space to play but packs in a good time. No poop. Flock to it.

She wouldn't give us a box to put the bottles in as we selected them. Made us use baskets so the glass bottles rolled around. Sat the baskets of bottles on counter so we could shop and load up new baskets with candy and novelties to make gift bags. She proceeded to tell us we needed to carry the baskets of pop bottles around with us while we shopped. Making our hands full. She couldn't put them on the open empty table behind the register because that was "her work area" and we couldn't put them to the side in the back out of the way because people could trip over it. There was 2 other people in the store...up front. Was told we could pay for the pop, leave and put in car, then come back and shop for more items. Nope... not coming back. You lost over $500 business this visit alone. We have been coming here for many years, hence knowing to come today for what we needed. Every time we've been here in the past, especially busy summer season and during festivals, the people working here were overly helpful, friendly and would always TAKE our full baskets and put on that table behind the counter so we could get empty ones and shop for more. They would give us 4 pack bottle holders or cartons to put pop bottles in as well. So I know everything out of her mouth was a lie. Will not be coming back. You need to review the work ethic and customer service skills with the people you hire. I'm one that never complains about things and chaos a lot up to "having a bad day" but this was ridiculous.

It brought me back memories of some candies I used to get back in the day. Very nostalgicread more

There's a little of something for everyone here. I usually see the same staff faces and they're always helpful and welcoming. If you're a collector at any level, definitely stop by. This place is exactly what's wrong with many collecting hobbies. Yea, the selection here is pretty…read moregood. That's mostly because the prices are terrible--worse than eBay and Facebook marketplace scalpers. Case in point: there's a pokemon illustrated set that just came out. It's $17. You can still get lucky at retailers and it'll be restocked. Here, just 2 days after launch, they're selling for $50. Just nuts. I guess it's clear this isn't a "card shop," it's a scalpers storefront. Don't go here looking for Lorcana--guessing the margins are too low. Except for their singles, which they sell for $2-4....crazy pricing for Lorcana. Anyways, i won't be back. Will have to continue my search for a card shop that's ethical and somewhat reasonable. --------- Edit in response to business reply: 1) i agree conversation could go a long way. But when your pricing on a brand new Pokémon set (which doesn't have a set market yet) is already 3x MSRP, what productive conversation can happen? It's just a straight up gouge. I'm not naive to expect to get everything at MSRP, but i think 3x markup 2 days post launch is unreasonable. 2) i did ask about Lorcana. I was told you "don't carry much" and "didn't have any right now." 3) you seem to be implying that you're aware prices are high and can then be negotiated lower. If that's how you want to do it that's your prerogative, just understand that's offputting for new customers. It's hard to want to establish a relationship and have a conversation when the first impression is being taken advantage of. And when your response to pricing questions is "well the hobby is thriving!" I don't think that's off base.
