Receipt of Jjambbong (spicy seafood noodles), and the wrong food (Jjajangmyun, black bean sauce noodles) they gave me

Terrible service, don't go! I ordered spicy seafood noodles on takeout app. For which the suggested wait time was 10 minutes. They gave me the wrong food after around 20 minutes, and refused to make the correction. I had to contact the customer service to cancel my order after 30 more minutes. Also, as a Korean restaurant the staffs there are non-Asian and have very limited English level. I wonder if they have the basic ability to read the English translations for Asian dishes and get to know customers' needs, especially for online orders. If you don't mind waiting and getting the wrong food, you might go there. Otherwise, please kindly consider somewhere else.

Underwhelmed by the jjajangmyun, especially based on the very positive reviews of it, but perhaps I caught them on an off-day. The noodles were cold and had minimal bounciness. Microwaving the noodles killed the ghost of any bouncy texture that might have lingered. The sauce was hot and very flavorful, though. Good amount of veggies and pork in the sauce, definitely not skimpy. I got my takeout order exceptionally fast, only waiting about 5 minutes. Large amount of sitting space inside, with a versatile atmosphere.

This place is still solid after many years. The quality and quantity is still great even with higher prices. My only complaint is the sad amount of panchan side dishes, they used to have more, now it's only the yellow radish and kimchi, but at least it's still free and refillable, some places charge now The best things here are Korean Chinese, jajangmyun and tangsooyuk are a must but everything is good.

Super local Korean spot that's been OG of union square for years. It's been a very long time since I've been at this joint and it does not disappoint. We were able to grab a table for two on a random Tuesday evening and were able to order quickly. We got the combo with jjiajang and tansooyuk and a stone pot bibimbap with kalbi The portions are still generous although their dishes have gone up with inflation over the years, still really damn good. tldr; expect tasty and delicious home-cooked style Korean meals, the kind of stuff that fuels childhood dreams

I stumbled onto this place while walking to a coffee shop and boy am I glad I took a chance. I had plan to order two full orders, but to my surprise, they had a combo of exactly what I wanted to order. I'm from Orange County, where we have the best Korean food, so I was surprised that this place was as good as it was. Hands-down the BEST jajangmyun I've had. The tangsooyuk was also great and I appreciate that the sauce was served on the side so that the pork was not soggy. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area.

My favorite Chinese Korean place in MA! I believe there was a change of management after the death of previous owner, my condolences to the family :( I think there was a little hiccup with tragedy but I assure you their food tastes great. jjajngmyeon and tangsuyuk are my go-to dish here. I heard people complaining about them not serving many ban chan (side dishes) for meals, however, that's how it is in Chinese Korean restaurants in Korea, people! You usually only get kimchi and danmooji (picked raddish) We paid a visit last weekend and had another great meal. I would recommend getting black noodles (you can also ask them to make it vegetarian!), jjambbong, fried pork with sweet and sour sauce, soon tofu stew, fried rice, and veggie pancake! Portion is also generous, hence giving 5 stars! 대박 강추!

Always quality and tasty Korean food every time I come. They recently changed management so they have an amazing deal for jajangmyun and jambong for half off! Both noodle dishes are so delicious! The noodles are perfectly cooked and chewy. The portion is generous, the flavor and sauce/broth is all on point. I've also tried the tofu soup, tangsuyook beef and ganpoong shrimp. The ganpoong is tangy, sweet and a little spicy. So good! Portions are large and definitely shareable. All highly recommend! The only downside is the location. It's hard to find parking in Union Square.

My friend and I came around 6h30 on a Saturday. They were very empty at the time but were slightly busier by the time we left. We ordered the jjajangmyeon, the topokki , and the kimchi jjigae. Jjajangmyeon was great - a rather large portion size actually- and the noodles and sauce were so delicious. I will note that there is barely any pork in the sauce though - it is mostly onions. The topokki was good - extremely spicy with a crazy amount of the pepper powder. Kimchi jjigae was also really yummy too - surprisingly less spicy that the topokki, with very well cooked and generous portions of cabbage, pork, tofu, and rice cakes. Price point was also surprisingly low too (especially in this economy?!) Overall super happy with my visit; I had high expectations since I love Chinese Korean food, and fortunately they exceeded all of them! Can't wait to come again and try their tangsuyook and ganjajang, too :)

We were in Somerville for a family event and walked around looking at different dining options when we came upon Buk Kyung. We wanted some simple comfort food so ordered the fried pork dumplings, shrimp shumai and pork fried rice. We enjoyed it all with the pork fried rice being our favorite. Service was thorough and friendly. We would return.

This is the first place where they served half/half option for jjajangmyun and jjambbong like they usually do back home in Korea. I appreciated the option for that because I love both and I would always have to choose! The ttangsuyuk was also pretty good and they gave a good amount too (we already ate a few before taking the pic). The employee was also SUPER friendly even though it was at night and the food came out fast as well. There is a lot of space in the place to sit and is clean as well. I would come back again if I'm in the area!

What I got: - Jambong Noodles ($14.92) - Shrimp Ganpoong ($25.99) - Not pictured but Jjajangmyun ($12.99) This place has a special place in my heart because Id go often when I was a kid but they recently changed ownership and currently have a great promotion going on - jambong and jjajang noodles are both around $8 each for limited time only!! The flavors of the noodles were great but i wish there were more veggies/toppings and the noodles were more chewy. The ganpoong shrimp also had really delicious sauce but I found the batter to be a little thick. If allstons far, i think its worth checking it out if youre craving korean chinese food.

Why did I not come here sooner?! Off to the side of charming Union Square, Buk Kyung is doing its best to stand out amongst the crowd but falls a bit short with the outside decor. However, don't be discouraged, grab that door handle (they provide free parking permits if you want to take your car and park to the side of the restaurant, adjacent to the Axe throwing place) and pop in. The inside is casual, and the atmosphere is typical of an unassuming family-owned restaurants: older guys hanging out, handful of younger, clearly sons or cousins of the older men, milling around and working the tables. The menu boasts pretty much anything you want in the Korean food group. My husband and I have been wanting dolsot bibimbap for a long time so we ordered that, and an appetizer of scallion pancake. We were offered two courses of kimchi in two ways (daikon and the traditional napa cabbage). Getting our food was a pretty quick process, getting our checks afterwards took quite a bit longer but it was also kind of nice to be sitting there in a sort of quietish, chill vibe of the restaurant-- it almost felt like hanging out at your Korean uncle's house. I know where I'm going when I need my Korean food fix next time!

We ordered thru Grub Hub and we were pleasantly surprised how awesome the food here was. We had the Tangsuyuk- highly recommend (very similar to Paiks noodle in CA and UT) The Bibimbap was perfectly made and I really enjoyed the Soft tofu stew. The deep flavor was just amazing. The ban chans were tasty too. Kimchi was perfect. We will definitely be ordering here again next time we come visit Boston. 4.5 solid stars for the food!

Is the restaurant closed either permanently or temporarily? I made transportation arrangements in advance to go on Tuesday only to find out too late they were closed. No response to my email, phone call asked for an access code.

According to the hours posted here on yelp (updated two weeks ago), they are close don Tuesdays.

Unless you wanna wait an hour or so, it's best to arrive 30min before they open to beat the rush. It's incredibly cramped and rushed inside, and you may need to share a table with others if you're a smaller party. Food is quite pricey but well worth it. We ordered the oysters (they've got a variety so you can choose), clam chowder, lobster roll, cioppino, and johnnycake. Oysters were fine, but the clam chowder was absolutely dismal. Not sure what happened, especially since it's so highly rated, but it was extremely watery and almost completely unseasoned. It could've definitely used salt at the very least. If I didn't know it was from Neptune, I'd have given it a 2/10. To my relief, the lobster roll was the total opposite. Succulent, juicy, heavenly. It was like being in Maine. The cioppino was also very good. The Johnnycake was an interesting but fun way to end the meal. It's a sweet pancake-like cornmeal covered in a syrupy glaze and topped with smoked bluefish paste, crème fraiche and caviar. I've never had anything like it. Nothing was super overpriced, but I personally prefer next door (Paulini's), which is much cheaper and while it isn't as good, it also doesn't require waiting in an hour in line. However, I think Neptune's is definitely worth a try as long as you're willing to wait in line.

The sauce was very buttery/oily but lacked depth in flavor imo. It was greasy, mushy and bland at the same time. Octopus itself was pretty good. Lobster pasta: enjoyable overall but the lobster tasted rubbery/overcooked. It might be better if they just toss the lobsters in towards the end instead of cooking it so much. The lobster meat portion was very generous. Overall, I was not disappointed, but also I wasn't super impressed.

Given the small restaurant / just a few tables, the kitchen was highly efficient and brought the food out quick. It was fun to watch our dinner cooked as we were seated next to the kitchen. The aglio olio is something I could eat regularly. The ground calamari was unique and it was loaded with sautéed garlic. The best! I probably wouldn't order the Alfredo again personally but the kids liked it. Overall a great experience on a hot day. We were in and out fairly quick. Service was solid.

The staff was friendly and answered all our questions. They provided recommendations and offered suggestions. We sat at a window table and were able to see out at the boats. We walked into a simple counter-service space with limited indoor seating, the kind of place that feels more like a grab-and-go stop than a sit-down lunch spot. Even with its small footprint, there was a steady stream of customers coming in for one of the signature sandwiches, and the energy of the room stayed practical and focused on getting orders out efficiently. The lobster roll is the clear standout. We ordered one and found it generously filled with lobster meat, making it feel substantial compared to many other lobster rolls around the city. Whether you choose it hot with butter or cold with mayo, the focus stays on the lobster itself rather than overwhelming it with extra ingredients. The toasted roll added just enough texture without taking away from the filling. Although the lobster roll gets most of the attention, the rest of the menu offers plenty of options if seafood is not what you are looking for. There are oversized sandwiches, soups like clam chowder, and classic sides that make it easy to find something for different tastes. The portions are generous overall, making the prices feel reasonable considering the amount of food you receive. The service was quick and efficient, which fits the fast-paced counter-service concept. The staff moved through orders with speed, and the food came out without much delay. The biggest thing to keep in mind is the limited seating, especially during lunch hours or peak tourist seasons in the North End. If the dining area is full, taking your food to go or finding a nearby outdoor spot can be a better option. Overall, Pauli's is a great stop if you are looking for a satisfying lobster roll without an overly formal seafood restaurant experience. The generous portions, straightforward menu, and convenient location make it an easy place to visit while exploring the North End, especially if lobster rolls are at the top of your list.

For over $100, you would expect the lobster fra diavolo to be fresh, but it was a huge let down. Severely overcooked and tough, but worst of all, not fresh! It stank of sulfur and tasted bitter which raises concerns about food safety. The other components of the dish were equally underwhelming--overcooked shrimp, tiny mussels and clams, and way-too-thin sauce. The calamari was the best part of the dish. The side of bread didn't taste fresh baked, and the Caesar salad was basic. I am giving stars based solely on location, service, and concept. The plating was beautiful and the vibe was romantic, but sadly the food fell majorly flat.

It was Jack Abbey beer... pint came 3/4 full as left a large head on beer and better for establishment pours 12-14 oz in a 16 oz glass.. Beer was warm... bad demerit again Ordered steak tips which came with three large tips on a bed of mashed potatoes, spinach . It had some sour hot nasty pepper garnish.. I wanted roasted red or green peppers with the tips instead. Steak tips were just ok and needed a marinate or side of a dipping bbq sauce or mushroom sauce or anything. Spinach, mashed potatoes needed more butter or garlic flavoring... fresh tasting but bland. Needs more steak tips too for the price tag. It was a nice bar vibe for drinks. The chicken wing lollipops I saw for an appetizer looked tasty. I left hungry for more steak tips and wanted a charcoal char on my tips . I wanted my spinach on the side with a garlic oil next to sone grilled oil drizzled roasted peppers . I don't consider these some of Boston best but certainly not the worst .

Cool 'garage doors' that open up in the nice weather. A lot of places in Boston have these.
