I enjoyed my meal here quite a bit! The service was good and the restaurant wasn't crowded on a Thursday night. The bulgogi was quite good. I also got a Soulongtang. As the menu suggests, the soulongtang is not seasoned and you'll have to season it yourself. I did but I still found it wasn't that flavorful. It's quite rich and I liked the noodles though. Seoul Soulongtang is a solid option for when you're craving Korean comfort food. Perfect for when you're feeling under the weather or after a great night out. I ordered the dolsot bimbimbap with beef and my fiance ordered the soulongtang + LA galbi combo. Both were excellent choices and scratched the itch! While the galbi didn't come in a huge portion, it was cooked well and like I said, it satisfied our craving for now. Everything was flavored accordingly and I have no complaints about the food. After recently moving to Boston, we asked around for some good Korean restaurants and Seoul Soulongtang came up the most so we went to check it out this weekend. We ordered the spicy kalbitang + jaeyook bokkum combo and also got a mul naengmyeon. The best part of the meal was without a doubt the mul naengmyeon. Even before adding in vinegar and mustard, the broth was pretty tasty, there was a lot of radish and a decent amount of meat. A perfect refreshing dish for the summer and something I'd come back for. The jaeyook bokkum dish wasn't bad, a bit oily for my taste. Overall I'd order it again but wouldn't seek it out like I would for the naengmyeon. The least favorite dish was the spicy kalbitang - wouldn't say it's bad but felt like the broth lacked depth and in comparison to the two other dishes, it just wasn't nearly as good. For a quick Sunday lunch, I decided on Korean soup to shake off the dreary spring weather. Entering at 11:45, I received a table immediately; the establishment had less than one quarter occupancy. I put in my order for the spicy galbitang ($17.95). Immediately after, the server set the table with side dishesband a bowl of white rice. The five today included cabbage kimchi, radish kimchi, fish cake, pickled onion and some other root vegetables, and fried tofu. The cabbage kimchi seemed under fermented. The galbitang arrived just as I was finishing up the banchan. It was barely spicy, and some of the gochujang hadn't yet dissolved. I found a few paste chunks. The soup also tasted underwhelming, with insufficiently concentrated stock. The beef rib pieces were also sparse with the meat. Conveniently located near Harvard Ave green line stop, this place is a gem. They offer delicious combos if you're indecisive. Parking can be tough as limited metered spots. Food came out super fast! The daikon brings out the sweetness to the kalbi tang dish. Stingy on the noodles so it would be nice if I can order extra side noodles. Love the marinate on the kalbi meal. I have been on a Korean cold noodle kick. In a heat wave, nothing hits the spot like a big bowl of noodles with chunks of ice floating in the broth. (I should learn how to make this at home.) After scouring Yelp for a place in Boston that serves these cold noodles, I landed on Seoul Soulongtang in Brighton. Be sure to come around 6 even on weekdays or be prepared for a bit of a wait - we came a little after six and nabbed the last table for two; after we finished, we opened the door to find a long line outside. The menu features a bunch of other soups and dishes but I only had eyes for the last page of cold noodles. Broth: light, fragrant, condiments of salt and yellow mustard and vinegar provided. Noodles: nice and springy, they provide a pair of scissors to snip snip into more manageable bites. Standard garnishes of pickled radish, green onions, thinly sliced beef and cucumber, and half a hardboiled egg. Banchan: good selection and they give free refills. They also offer combo meals of noodles + galbi, which may be a good option for two people who aren't super hungry. It gets a little loud inside with people talking and someone manning the massive frying counter but nothing too bad. The service was not exactly friendly but very efficient and our food came out quickly. Reasonably priced family restaurant with delicious food and solid portion sizes. We went as a group of five on a Friday at around 8:15pm and had a 10-20 minute wait to get seated. I got the kalbitang, which had a good amount of beef ribs, white radish, and noodles in the warm, hearty stew. We also got the bossam and kimchi pancake to share. The bossam came with a good amount of pork belly, sauces, and delicious radish kimchi to go with it. The kimchi pancake was doughy and chewy, but I couldn't tell the difference between it and a regular seafood pancake. The only unfortunate part of our visit was that their grill was closed by the time that we got there, even though we had called ahead to hear that it didn't close until 8:30pm. A bunch of items were also sold out, though we were luckily still able to find non-beef dishes for a member of our party that doesn't eat beef. He didn't give checks to other tables before ours, but decided to give one to us. When I asked him why, he said there was no reason. Bruh, get a life! My friends and I use to love to come here but the quality of food has gone down and the ban chan is sub par. They compensate the plate with half veggies instead of meat. The utensil they gave us for the pancake was soaking wet and somehow came last when it is supposed to be an appetizer. For some reason they always want to seat us next to the restroom area. As the weather gets colder, the desire to have a hearty hot bowl of soup begins to build up in a matter of seconds every single hour I'm awake. It's a fiend that has to be constantly fed and/or suppressed less it unleashes wrathful hell on everything around it. That's how this establishment made it to one of my lists of must-visits during the colder months. They serve a rather unique broth for those new to this particular style of Korean soups - really hearty but really clean, seemingly flavorless but also bold once enough salt is introduced. My introduction to the dish Seolleongtang took place almost two decades ago. I was sick - very sick - and had absolutely no appetite (an obvious recipe for further disaster). A close friend's grandmother found out and made a large pot's worth of this broth and "demanded" that she force me to consume a lot of it. I still laugh when I think about it especially my friend's facial expressions when she showed up with it. Long story short, she didn't need much effort to convince me. The clean scent was enough for me to be willing try it; the gentle but hearty contrast was enough for me to keep going until most of the pot was gone. It sure got me up and well again overnight and made me a permanent fan of this potent broth. Seolleongtang is pretty much the same almost everywhere except for the spice condiments that they offer with it. As I prefer mine just with sea salt, I'm just happy whenever there is a place that serves a decent portion of it whenever the weather is cold. If you've never had this soup before, I'd definitely recommend it to nourish your soul. My only tip is...don't hesitate to keep adding salt until the flavor pops for you. read more

They specialize in soulongtang - for the newbies like me, this is an ox/beef bone soup with brisket. It's typically seasoned to taste at the table, so every table has a vat of salt and pepper and the dish comes with fresh scallions. Very cozy and homey dish for a cold night. The banchan were pretty basic but tasted good (radish and cabbage kimchi, fish tofu, plus another one or two that can't remember). We also tried their vegetable pajeon which was mediocre imo, a not crispy enough. However their bulgogi, bibimbap, jeyook bokum, and japchae were solid.
