Bowl
Ashli A.

This is my first time in Atlanta, and I was just looking for a quick bite while exploring downtown. The service was good, and I got a very large portion of protein, so no complaints there! It's located inside of "The Hub" and is one of the handful of restaurants that was open on a Sunday. Satisfied with my bowl, the service, and cleanliness of the place.

Teriyaki chicken and fried rice

This is inside Peachtree Center, on the same level as chick-fil-a. Limited street parking but plenty of paid parking in the parking garage. Food is very average - usually places like these would include some veggies too but not here. The meat was tender! But the teriyaki flavor was a bit too sweet for me as well as the noodles. I believe they have other locations are well. But I haven't been yet. If you are working in the area, this is a decent spot to get your cravings satisfied.

Grabbed a quick lunch here and thought it was good value. For $10 I got lo mein noodle, 2 veggies, 2 meats. I chose bulgolgi chicken and honey chicken. Didn't mind it all.

The Korean food scenes got my wife and I hungry every time! Having been to many of Atlanta's best Korean restaurants over the past decade, Stone Bowl is a clear notch above the rest. The side dishes are just simply better with robust authentic seasoning and unforgettable flavor that leaves you craving for more. The kimchi is spot on for spice but not overwhelming. The potatoes are to die for, cooked to perfection, tender and absorbent of all the nearby flavors. For the first time, we tried the Korean sushi roll (K-Pop Demon Hunters was calling) and it didn't disappoint. Stuffed with fresh cooked bulgogi and veggies, we ate it so fast we were left thinking of Korean sushi rolls had an edge over Japanese sushi rolls! And we also got the poached dumplings for the first time and almost went as fast as the sushi roll. The authentic style of poaching the dumpling made it taste homemade from grandma's kitchen. The sizzling plate of bulgogi was amazingly put down the gullet on top of everything else. Consistently on point and warms the tummy. Service is cordial, but somewhat aloof and distant at times because we would have loved an offer to refill our side dishes, but admittedly they are often busy and we don't go there to expect Michelin dining service levels. We come for the food. Awesome food. And Stone Bowl House will be seeing us again before long.

Despite this, the restaurant was vibrant on a rainy midweek day... Almost full to capacity with patrons. Happy my partner recommended this restaurant! I sat at the bar to place my to go order and was greeted promptly by the bartender. He brought me water and provided the QR code to order. The gentleman next to me was enjoying the Bimibap which looked very enticing, but due to the cold weather, I wanted something warm. Soup was not an option and was directed to the glass noodle dish. The glass noodles were of a sweet potato consistency and included several vegetables. I did not know that the bone marrow mentioned in the description would be an actual marrow, quite large that was discovered once I dug into my dish at home. The flavors exuded were right on point! The portion was also ample for a second meal. Will definitely return to sample the Bimibap on a warmer day and possibly some of the drinks offered. I truly enjoyed the waiting period at the bar, striking up conversation and viewing Misery which was being projected on the wall... A true horror classic. I enjoyed the atmosphere and menu offerings.

The menu feels a bit more streamlined than I remember from the original location, though the core dishes are still there. It will be interesting to see how the restaurant evolves under the current management. Regardless, the food consistently tastes authentic and well prepared. Service has always been pleasant and efficient during my visits, which makes the experience even better. Parking can occasionally be tricky since it's located in downtown Alpharetta, but there's a nearby free parking garage that makes it manageable. Overall, it's a solid go-to when you're craving Korean food in the area without needing to drive to neighboring cities.

The spicy jjamppong here tasted horrible. it was just noodles with 5 pieces of over cooked and old seafood in chili paste broth.... Second. The bibimbap? why would they serve it on a FLAT plate? it was so hard to mix the rice in it. Portion size of this dish was like kids menu. Not sure if they only focused on the aesthetics of the restaurant but there no need for you to waste money here.

This was a long time ago, maybe before Covid, and it's really sad to see that it went downhill since I've last been. Upon entering, I noticed we were the only customers. Strange, but maybe the late lunch, early dinner time is not busy here. We were sat down, but the service wasn't very friendly. Despite being the only people here, we felt rushed to order and go. I suppose the biggest reason I'm giving a 3 is because of the yellow croaker/corvina. I love, love, love when tofu houses give it, and when I saw it here... it was the biggest disappointment. It was old. Definitely not as fresh as some of the other offerings here, and honestly, of the menu items here, only the seafood pancake was anything truly worthwhile. While the galbi was well marinated, it was thin. The soft tofu soup was good, but I feel as though most tofu houses do it well, so it's expected.
