I stopped into my neighborhood Thai restaurant for dinner one evening, and EAV Thai and Sushi continues to be a go to. This place is always a vibe. The music is consistently good, and the lighting and overall ambience are easily a 10 out of 10. They also serve some of the best cocktails I have had at a Thai restaurant. I started with the spring rolls, which are always delicious and a solid appetizer choice. For my drink, I ordered the lychee martini, which never disappoints and is perfectly balanced. This visit, I decided to try something different and ordered the Pad See U. It was absolutely amazing. The food arrived hot, well seasoned, and the portion size was generous. I love East Atlanta Village. And this is one of the reasons why! The service is outstanding. I've been to this location on two separate occasions and the people have been friendly and inviting. The shrimp rolls were divine. Flaky, crispy and flavorful. The shrimp was succulent and delicious - so much so I got 2 orders. The sweet chili sauce was the icing on the cake. The calamari were delightful, loved the flavor and the crunch again served with that heavenly sweet chili sauce. We also got an order of Spring rolls. The coconut Shrimp Soup is creamy and rich. They serve up a generous portion packed with Shrimp and mushrooms. The lime juice takes this dish to the next level. Let's get to the star of the show, the sushi. I ordered the double Shrimp Roll, Monster Roll, Beauty on the Beach and the Yellowtail. I love to see how creative a Chef is willing to get and the flavors they chose to mix, all three of these were unlike anything I've had. A delicate balance of savory, sweet, and tangy flavors. Super appetizing. Typical I like my Yellowtail sliced thinner but overall, it was a quality piece of fish. Now for the drinks. The margaritas are legendary, so that's the only drink I get when I come here. And the Margarita are Top 2 and they aren't number 2. Caution yourself, these drinks are no joke but absolutely delicious. You can also get them flavored, but nothing beats the original. Let's talk about EAV That & Sushi real quick. I've never really been a Thai food eater. I'll eat it if that's what the majority wants but I've never been the one to have to have it. Baby listen, EAV That & Sushi has me in a choke hold as the food is AMAZNG!!!! We were in the area as Shaunie said it is one of her favorite places to go, as such, we went. Walking in, the ambiance is really low key and has a great feel to it. It's perfect for friends, dates, or even alone. After we walked in we were able to be seated immediately. Continuing to take in the ambiance, the feel was so chill. There was a game on each television and the music was playing in the background. Yep, I'm here for all of this. Upon taking our seats, I ordered a sweet tea and began to scroll the menu. Taking a moment to take in the menu as there are an abundance of options, I decided on the Spring Rolls as an Appetizer and Pad Thai as my Main Course. Clearly I played it safe. From seating us to taking out drink and food orders, our waiter was super nice. He was professional, very educated on the menu offerings and kept a smile the entire time. Not to mention, we weren't his only table yet he was on top of his game and provided top tier service. Once my food came I was immediately drawn into the aroma. The Thai Spices mixed with the Sweet smells of the sauce made me extra happy inside. LoL. The Spring Rolls were good. They were crunchy loo Upon first bite I almost melted. Whew! I have NEVER in all my years had a Pad Thai this amazing. I'm talking about perfectly cooked noodles. Optimum noodle to meat to sauce ratio. And best of all, the peanuts were coated in the sauce and not only acted as the extra layer of texture, but their flavor profile was enhanced which allowed the dish to have a multi-flavor blend of sweet, salty, and nutty. All those great reviews and nobody mentioned how slow they are.....I got off work at 7:00 called my order in by 7:04 got there around 7:27 and my order still wasn't ready. No sweat, I saw the restaurant was full and, didn't have a problem waiting a little bit longer. So I went ahead and paid for my order while I watched the hawks get the brakes beat off of them by the by knicks lol. Then the nice gentleman at the bar updated me that my food wouldn't be ready for another 20 minutes. Which would extend my wait time to over an hour! I had to politely ask for a refund because that is unacceptable. I called in my order before I got there smh! Sad to say I don't think I'll be returning :( read more

Decent place if you're in the area and want a chill vibe and some sushi. My sushi roll which I forgot to take a picture of was delicious as well as the wings. I wasn't a fan of the calamari. My cousin ordered fried rice and we never got it. I also didn't like my espresso martini which I ordered before I ended up going with the lychee, and the lychee martini wasn't amazing either. I won't rush to return but if I'm just in the area I would probably try again it's decent if you need food on your stomach for alcohol. read more

I've been craving sushi and I'm so glad that I finally got some. I ordered via delivery and I won't lie, some of the older reviews almost scared me off but sometimes you just have to try a place for yourself, and I'm glad that I did! I'm usually an adventurous eater, especially when it comes to sushi because I love a great roll or some sashimi, but as I'm unable to eat raw fish currently, I kept it simple. After indecisively checking out multiple sushi restaurant options for almost an hour, I went with EAV based on the details listed on the menu that allowed me to clearly note if the roll was raw vs. cooked, the roll options (I don't love tempura-only options) and their prices. I decided to go with a basic California roll (which I haven't had since I was like, 5 lol) and their spider roll which includes crab and veggies. I called EAV prior to checking out to confirm that 3 of my initial choices were cooked, and the woman who answered the phone was so kind and patient. I'm so glad that I did call as one roll I was considering was raw. When my rolls made it to my door, they were still in perfect condition and beautifully prepped. In the 'special request' section of my delivery order, I asked for extra ginger and wasabi. I always swear that restaurants don't read those but they did! The rolls were portioned well and packed with crab and veggies. The rice was also perfectly cooked, moist and sticky. I don't think I've scarfed down sushi rolls so quickly in my life, they really didn't stand a chance! I'm so glad that I took the time out to try them for myself! read more

Whoever coined the rather disrespectful term "hole in the wall" failed to account for rather delicious food being cooked in less than stellar establishments. This is one of those places. A small restaurant with lots of charm and appeal. The decor was nice, the service was great and the food was some of the best Thai food I've eaten in a while. The drinks were on point and STRONG...OMG! LOL We had a large party of 40 for a birthday dinner. Hector and the rest of the staff handled our party with ease, and they were very efficient and attentive. I was very impressed with the service. Not sure why they're called jumbo though. The sushi was pretty good too. I forget which roll I had but it was fresh and tasted great. Got to eat off my friend's plate who ordered the Ginger Red Snapper and I will make sure to order this every time I come back here. I preferred his dish over my sweet and sour chicken.
