Date: September 2024 TLDR: Thai 5, your service and food are top-notch, but it's time to spruce up the ambiance. (khob khun) for the great experience! Service:5/5 I'm met some friends here for a birthday celebration on a Monday. We were immediately seen, giving water to start in the bartender/waiter was fast and attentive. Prices: 5/5 Prices were as expected in my opinion for what we received, I did get some sashimi as well as a signature role. Very filling and quite delicious to be frank . Ambiance: 3/5 This is where there's a clear loss of points. Unfortunately, this restaurant has one of those smells of I guess old food and old construction. I feel like Thai 5 needs an update and to close down for renovations. It's time to invest in a new and fresh look. Taste/Textures: 5/5 My food was delicious and my girlfriend ordered the lobster roll which had an amazing presentation. Definitely think that the waiters, chefs, and Bartender were really hard to create a quality environment for top-notch agent food in little five points. Value:5/5 Definitely left here with the feeling that I got what I paid for and would return.

Don't even think about it at Thai 5.

A small, funky little sushi spot. I stopped in for early dinner and was the only one there. The staff was prompt and friendly. I had a few sushi rolls. Prices were reasonable and the food was good. It wasn't the best sushi I've ever had but it did the trick. I'd return in the future.

We were greeted by a friendly host and our server was also very nice! The food came out nice and quick and it was delicious. We ordered sushi and also the Thai Basil ground chicken and rice. We will definitely come back again!

I only got dessert so I can't speak for some of these less than perfect reviews. The mango sticky rice was so yummy!! I was craving it after having 26thai's & am happy that I have Thai5 to go to instead (much more reasonable prices for more). Generous coconut cream as well. Will return soon!!

I tried Thai 5 and Sushi Bar both via Uber and in-person, and each time the food has been decent. Their hearty Wonton Soup is my favorite! It has hints of ginger and the ground chicken filling is flavorful. I also enjoyed their fresh sushis. The Green Curry, which has eggplant, bamboo shoots, bell peppers, and basil leaves, was spicy and tasted authentic. I also got chicken in the curry, which I wouldn't recommend doing; the meat was too hard. The Spicy Basil Fried Rice with Shrimp was not spicy, but the shrimp was cooked to perfection. And finally, I tried their Pad Thai twice, and both times it lacked seasoning, including salt. Overall, this restaurant is decent. If I had to order from here again, I'd probably just stick with the Wonton Soup and one of the sushi options.

Great restaurant overall the food was prepared quickly and it was hot and fresh. I will be back I just wish that they use more eco-friendly packaging. The service was great.

Not an authentic sushi place. Mostly rolls and Thai foods (I did not try Thai foods)

Service was solid, and my favorite cocktail so far is the Black Lava. I will swear by (not just vouch for) the truffle salmon appetizer, and my favorite hot option is the baked lobster tempura. Gotta keep it real for a moment...bringing a large group there can be a tad more complicated, so plan accordingly. I would recommend it more for intimate occasions and gatherings. That said, there are plenty of paid lots surrounding the restaurant if you can't find street parking, so at least that part is easy! I loved my experience, and I can't wait to return.

That said, locals recommended it, and I usually love sushi as a post-flight meal since it's light and fresh. The ambiance is dreamy, and I really appreciated the attentive service and bar seating. I ordered an avocado ball with caviar and spicy tuna, which was lovely and beautifully plated. I'd also seen a foodie Instagrammer mention their off-menu crispy rice rolls, so I gave those a try. Unfortunately, they fell a bit flat for me. I ended up adding a lot of soy sauce since they sincerely lacked flavor. When the bill came, I realized this probably wasn't the best choice for a quick, light meal. The prices were comparable to California, but the quality didn't quite match. That said, the person sitting next to me mentioned she visits often and felt that the night was a bit off, so I'd be open to giving it another try next time I'm in town.

The restaurant is beautiful, red velvet curtains, baroque flowered wallpaper. The service was excellent. They have a very nice wine, cocktail, and mocktail list. I had the purple rain, light and bubbly. My friend enjoyed her gingery King's Ransom. The menu is Chinese and Asian fusion, and a short list of sushi. Chinese is always meant to be shared. We had the miso truffle salmon and each of the steam buns to start. I thought the salmon was very good, I do not normally like capers, but liked the way they prepared them. The katsu was probably the best of the buns, nicely crispy. The tofu was good a well, with a nice kick, the young one in our group found it too spicy. I would not order the short rib again, it was fine, but I've had much better short rib. We then had the chicken satay, roti canai, and the miso cod. The chicken satay had good flavor, and paired well with the peanut sauce and pickles. I did find it a bit too fatty. The miso cod was perfectly cooked, and the flavor was just right. Note that it is a very small portion. The best dish was the roti, a yellow curry with chicken and veggies with two flaky peice of roti. So good. The star of the meal though was the mango sticky rice, with sorbet and small bits of mochi. This is one of the best versions I've ever had. Do not miss this dessert! The issue I had with our visit is we, a group of three, were seated by the door, which was also near the kitchen door. The seating felt cramped, and every few minutes one of the doors was slamming, which made it a less pleasant experience. There were also several other tables open that we could have been seated at instead.

The staff was pretty accommodating with dietary restrictions. To be frank, it's just not worth the money. You barely get enough food to be satiated and it's very mid quality. I'd honestly prefer Muchachos food than this pop up behind it. Everything's a small plate. I get that the focus is on the cocktails but why have dinner even offered then? The cocktails are a bit too experimental. I liked maybe 2/4. For what you're paying ($95 pp) I would expect most of the meal to be good. Dessert was pretty much something I could get anywhere.
