The owner/server was incredibly rude and short with us. Which is surprising for the most expensive Indian restaurant in the whole area, bar none. The portions are small, the prices very high and the food isn't much better than you would find at any other local restaurant, despite the exorbitant cost. The owner wouldn't make any changes for our meal and put a 20% tip for our party when we had less than six people. Who does that? Most places only charge that when you have six or more and even then it's rarely done unless you've 8 or more people. We have been hearing about Coriander for quite a while now so last night we decided to go for dinner. We made reservations prior to coming as there were four of us. We visited immediately on our arrival. The restaurant was clean and well lighted, and the staff was polite and attentive. As one of the members of our group as a gluten allergy, we were advised to stay away from most of the appetizers which we did. (even though most of them they have a GF label next to them on the menu) We decided to have our dinner family style, which is traditional what to do at most Indian restaurants so we ordered the Grilled Tandoori Chicken, A Grilled Chicken Kabab, Chicken Biryani, Chana Daal and the Lamb Vindaloo (we were warned ahead of time that this would be spicy and let me tell you it did not disappoint .... It was pure which would be definitely not something to get for the faint of heart and stomach! However, it was spot on and delicious!) Their Naans were large fresh and delicious! I must say that the prices were fair, and the portions were not stingy. They did not have the typical Indian fare that is served in most Indian restaurants but the menu was extensive and interesting. This was our second time dining at Coriander, and I'm glad we gave it another try--it was a much better experience than our first visit. My husband and I shared two appetizers, two entrées, and dessert: aloo gobi, lamb bhuna (a little spicy but in a good way), chicken tikka masala, garlic rosemary naan, and kheer. The restaurant was clean, including the restroom, and although there were only two servers handling about 80% capacity, they did a great job keeping things running smoothly. I tried out Coriander last week and I tried to order via telephone. They have an answering machine that asks you to click 1 for a link to text to your phone to order online, 2 for reservations, and 3 to speak to someone. Since I had a question, I had hit 3 and it automatically sent me to "sorry no one is available to pick up your call so we have sent a link to your phone". This was during open hours so it's a little annoying that there is no one there to speak to. I placed my order online and went in to pick it up. The restaurant was quiet during lunch - also close to their opening time. There wasn't any staff up front or visible. I walked towards the back until someone came over to assist me. I went ahead and picked up my food and to my pleasant surprise they threw in a free drink for me! I brought the food home and it was delicious. I was hoping for a lunch portion but they didn't have that on the menu so I ordered a regular chicken tikka masala with regular naan bread on the side. It was over $20 and it was enough to split into 2-3 meals. I thought the food was great and exactly what I was in the mood for. I just ordered 2 dinners through Door Dash from one of my favorite places . I ordered the same dish I typically order when we visit the restaurant. I ordered chicken pasanda with No heat for myself & lamb pasanda w/ mild heat for my mister . My entree was SO spicy hot I could not finish my meal & my misters was especially hot & spicy that he did not enjoy his either ! I brought some plain yogurt to the table & added it to our dishes to cut the heat level but to no avail . This is quite unfortunate as we were so looking forward to this meal tonight . We ordered Doordash from Coriander this evening. Dad and bonus mom with their curries which they enjoyed. A nann that was light and still a bit crunchy from the oven. For me, a plate of tandoori chicken which was still hot and full of flavor. "Medium" heat was plenty of spicy delicious and moist, too. Came to Coriander on a Friday afternoon and there was only one other table. Nice, spacious and clean spot with Indian music and a TV with music videos playing. We were greeted promptly and placed our order. We requested the Gobi Manchurian as an appetizer. For entrees we went with the Paneer Pasanda, the Malai Tikka Kebab and an order of Garlic and cheese naan. The Gobi Manchurian was PHENOMENAL. Beautifully seasoned, but not at all spicy. The cauliflower was tender but not falling apart. And the crisp on the outside made this dish so special. At other restaurants it can be soggy, but not here. The Paneer Pasanda was a new dish for us, but didn't taste too different from a masala. Was smooth, creamy, perfect medium spice level and a generous portion of paneer. Paired incredibly well with the naan. The Malai Tikka kebab was also new for us, as we typically have always steered towards curries and saag. But what an incredible choice! The chicken was so tender and juicy, the flavors really punched. They serve it with the most decadent masala and a cabbage/onion slaw for a textural symphony. The rice? Literally melts in your mouth. I have no idea how they accomplish this. Incredibly light and fluffy. We capped off the meal with an order of gulab jamun. Definitely tasted a bit different than other gulab jamuns I've had. Less floral and more spice. But the texture and taste were still great. A good way to finish the meal. While we ate a lot of food, we didn't feel weighed-down or stuffed afterwards, which to me indicates quality and fresh ingredients. The only issue I had, is I'm pretty sure I was heavily overcharged. According to their website, the three dishes we ordered, the naan, gulab jamun and 2 soft drinks would be around almost $60 and I left a 20% tip. But when I checked my bank account I was charged $86.36. The transaction was completed on a hand-held device which calculates everything for you, and they took the check with them when leaving the table so I didn't get a good look at the total which is my fault. I could've asked about it, but honestly the meal was so good I didn't care. But just please keep this in mind if you choose to dine here. This restaurant is in a nondescript strip mall but the food is absolutely yummy. Off the beaten track in West Boynton, there is a very large menu and outdoor seating ( albeit facing the parking lot). Not a lot of Indian choices near me, so I've given Coriander a try on a couple of occasions. With an online deal, we were basically able to get a 3rd entree for free once I spent $5 more to qualify, so we got to try something we normally wouldn't try. The lamb masala was our favorite, the meat was so tender and the flavor was great. We also tried their butter chicken, which was as expected. The extra entree was chicken pasanda. First impression after dipping some naan was that it was a tasty sauce, but once we got into the chicken and more sauce on the rice, it wasn't our favorite. The first time I tried them I ordered lamb curry which was mostly disappointing, but that was a while ago and the latest experience was much better. We'll continue to order from here when we're feeling Indian food, and I might even bump them up to a 4 if a can get a good redo on the curry and if they step up the naan game (nothing special, we tried regular and garlic naan). read more

This place was absolutely poppingggg on a Tuesday night! the early birds especially were out for dinner, but there was a constant influx of to-go orders coming to pick up food as well. My group came hungry, so we started with the samosas and tamarind wings for apps. First off, I've never seen larger samosas - they were stuffed with potatoes and chickpeas and the size of an empanada. Delicious. The tamarind wings were also a winner. They do have a subtle kick so if you are sensitive to spice , you might feel the burn too late and be frantically signaling for a water refill . But not to worry, the servers do a great job of keeping the water flowing. Up next, I decided to venture out of my comfort zone and try a dish I've never had before- Chicken saag which was a spinach based dish (?) and I was not disappointed in flavor, but I did wish it had some heat. People raved about the naan so I couldn't pass that up, and I got the best of both worlds ordering the garlic and cheese flavor. It was SO pillowy soft and not greasy like the naan I've had at other restaurants. Prices are reasonable and servings are generous. Nice place, tucked away from the crowds, with good parking. The atmosphere was lively to say the least, maybe a little too loud for some. I went with my teenage daughter who loves Indian food. The wait time was pretty good in getting the food. I was not all that happy with how the food was presented. The entree was in a bowl on a plate that also i had rice already on it. It was neither good or bad, just average. The lamb vindaloo, that I asked for being extra spicey hot, was below average. The entire taste was overwhelmed by the taste of vinegar and they three pieces of lamb and three pieces of potato was not worth the price point. And it was no where near to being spicey. As far as Indian cuisine goes, Coriander Indian is a bit of a hidden gem. My wife and I had driven past its location countless times without realizing there was an Indian restaurant tucked away. You typically get either a very "mom and pop" feel or something overly cookie-cutter when it comes to Indian restaurants, but Coriander strikes a nice balance. It's clean, modern, and very busy, which speaks to its popularity. While Indian cuisine isn't my all-time favorite, I did enjoy the overall experience. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala because I'm not a fan of spice, and though it was on the plain side, it tasted good, especially when paired with the garlic cheese naan, which I highly recommend. My wife and brother both went for lamb and shrimp dishes, but when they asked the waiter about the spice level, they were told it was "medium." Fair warning: medium here is very spicy! My wife and brother both struggled a bit with how hot their meals were. There's a definite difference between medium and mild, so if you're sensitive to heat, take note. Despite the spice, they enjoyed the flavors, though in my opinion, the dishes would've been more enjoyable without the overwhelming heat. All in all, Coriander is a nice, authentic Indian restaurant. If you're craving Indian cuisine, it's definitely worth a try. While I'm not sure I'd go back on my own, I'd happily return with friends or family who enjoy a bit of spice! read more
