We had a very good lunch here. You can dine in -- which is what we did -- but many folks were doing take out while we were there. There's a small parking lot behind the restaurant and you can enter through the back door. As we came in the front, we saw the menu on the counter and watched one of the guys dishing up a container. The meals come in three sizes, and we decided that the small size would be fine for us. I got the oxtail with rice and peas and steamed cabbage with bits of carrots. My husband got his "usual" brown stew chicken with the same sides. Both meals were delicious. Literally finger lickin' good as both entrees have bones and we ate a bit with our fingers to get all the good stuff. There was just enough brown gravy on the rice to make it moist and add extra flavor. We thought the prices were quite reasonable and the food good enough for a definite return trip. I'd like to try their curry or brown stew next time.

This was my first time in to Mack's but it won't be my last. Service was fairly quick and the food is priced well and delicious. The auntie at the register was kind, made me feel welcomed and had me laughing. I ordered the small jerk chicken steamed cabbage, rice & peas. The small was plenty for a lunch portion. For dinner I would definitely order at least a medium, the small was about 1/4 chicken. The rice & peas were cooked to perfection, and the oxtail gravy over the rice is an absolute must. The downing area on the inside is limited to only 3 four tops, but they also have outdoor seating available.

TLDR: This is not Jamaican food at all, mostly fat and bones. I have ordered twice and both times disappointed me. I ordered jerk each time thinking I would get the real thing but both times I got bbq chicken instead. 95% of the "pork" is fat and burnt fat. Any other meat such as chicken and goat is 75% bones. The Mac and cheese is just undercooked Kraft that is cold and watery. The Rasta pasta is fine for what it is but it's served very cold like potato salad.

So dang good we had dreams about the food that night and was planning to go back Sunday but didn't realize Mr. Mack closes early! We were staying at a resort in WPB but were looking for some jerk chicken. We ordered jerk chicken and oxtail. The jerk chicken was BBQ's with a nice tangy smoky flavor. The edges of the chicken had a nice char which enhanced the BBQ! What is incredible as good as the jerk chicken was the oxtail was even better. The meat was so tender, stewed with fat on the tail created these perfect beef bites that explode flavor in your mouth! Order the soursop drink to pair with your meal and this will make you complete! The host was extremely friendly and funny. I wish I had this place by my home.

Fantastic! The oxtail is some of the best Ive had- super tender and spiced just right. My husband and I have been dreaming about it since we had it. You have to go just to try it! We also had the jerk chicken- also super good! Smokey with a good amount of spice, try it with the table hot sauce and its **chefs kiss** Parking lot is small and we ended up parking on the street. Staff was so friendly it felt like you were family. The restaurant was fast casual with booths to eat there, but would also be very convenient for grab n go! Check this spot out- its going to be worth it!

I order form here all the time . I typically get jerk chicken or pork . Both are really good. Rice & pea's also good. I like my cabbage a little softer but theirs still taste good. Now that pineapple slaw absolutely AMAZING !!!

Mr. Mack is one of my personal favorite spots for delicious island food. My favorite is the curry goat. The food is well-seasoned and flavorful and the portions are plentiful. I can't speak to the service much because we've only done take-out, but the food is 10/10.

Oh My Word! Many of my praises echo previous reviewers' comments... Hands down the best damn Jamaican food I've ever eaten. The portions are abundant. Service was very fast and the staff are sooo friendly, polite and helpful. I took a gal that had never had Jamaican food and she had questions. They were honestly answered by the lovely gal at the register who kept a steady state of hustle to help unload deliveries while pumping out carry-out orders! We got there shortly after they opened and it was poppin! I will not eat at another Jamaican place in Florida unless their reviews stack up to this place. I've never been disappointed by Jamaican cuisine but now this sets the bar very high for competition. I had oxtail, cabbage and Mac/cheese. I'm not usually a starch eater but it looked too good to miss out on. The cabbage is more firm than "stewed cabbage" because it is steamed and I loved the consistency. The oxtail was incredible. My friend had jerk pork, cabbage and plantains. She commented that all were incredible and her portion allowed for her to take home enough for supper. We both had size small and I crushed mine all at once because I don't like leftover meats or microwaves. So I got stuffed!! Can't wait to go back! I am here for 6 weeks and have every intention of eating there weekly!! 10/5 s

This little place has amazing food. Do not be dismissive because of the small place, the food is worth it. Everything we tried tasted fresh and juicy.

Food was excellent and the service was phenomenal. The jerk pork and the oxtail were my favorites. The spice can catch up to you, though. The portions were generous. The staff were friendly and gave good vibes. You'll try it once and you'll be hooked. You'll definitely enjoy it.

Soup go for soup. Family owned restaurant off the very busy Okeechobee. You might miss the sign so look for the food truck that will be on the side of the building. Very early you will see the grill at work smoking away the meats for the day. Park in the back and make your way around. There is back door but makes more sense to just round out the place. Staff is limited so give shout of "good afternoon" to make sure someone here you. Don't be surprised to see the only person visible is also answering the phone. Food is great but especially the soup (but they were out of fried dumpling for lunch). With Florida's constantly changing weather it's always good to get a bowl of something warm and filling inside of you during lunch. You do anything more than the small bowl and you'll need a nap.

There's extra vegetables in the dishes. The macaroni salad was to die for. The herbs were right on. The peas and rice were so tasty. I had to hold back from eating more and filling up. Complementary fried plantains were added to the order. The jerk chicken was incredibly tender and there was spicy sauce on the side, added to the chicken. We had not eaten oxtails before. Go figure! They were so Tender and falling off the bone. The sauce was excellent with added carrots and butter beans. So good. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes they offer. Service: Very friendly and attentive. Most people seem to order and carry out. We chose to eat in and they went out out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Ambience: Again, it's more of a carryout restaurant, but the restaurant itself is very clean and inviting. When I go back, I would like to sit down and eat in the restaurant with its colorful decor and reggae playing on the speakers again. Really enjoyed eating there and watching people go in and out with their takeout orders.

I followed my coworker to this Jamaican restaurant for lunch--and let me start with a disclaimer: if you plan on being productive after eating here, don't. Just take the rest of the day off now. I ordered the $10 fried chicken lunch special with extra gravy, rice and peas, and macaroni salad and washed it down with a pineapple ginger juice. Baby... I was FULL full. The kind of full where your laptop starts looking optional. I was overworked, overfed, and ready to slam my laptop shut and resume life Monday morning. The food was so good and so filling that I didn't even eat dinner that night. I had a cup of tea and went straight to bed--peacefully and without regret. All jokes aside, the food is excellent. Authentic Caribbean cooking, fresh, flavorful, and made with love--the kind that tastes like your Caribbean mother or grandmother cooked it herself. The service was wonderful, and the portions are generous. Whether you order a regular entrée or a lunch special, you will leave satisfied. Check them out--just don't say I didn't warn you. If you eat this for lunch, you are not working the rest of the day.

There was ample free parking right outside their doors. Inside, it is bright and clean. You order at one end of the counter where all the food is displayed. The menu is on the wall. We both chose their "small" brown stew chicken with rice and peas, cabbage, and plantains. I always request a bit of extra gravy on top of the rice. The food is served in take out containers. And they were doing a lot of take out orders while we were there. But we chose to dine in. The chicken was tender. It's a bit messy to eat, but delicious with the brown gravy. The gravy had a slight kick. The rice and peas were able to sop up some of the gravy. The cabbage/veggies were mild. The plantains were sweet. As I said before, the portion was so large --even though it was the small size -- that we each had enough for another meal. Reasonable prices, good food, friendly staff, and large portions -- a winning combination.
