I entered and I was immediately confused. There was nobody to seat me and no sign that said please take a seat. So I sat down read the menu and went to the counter to order. I guess that was wrong because the owner gave me a strange look that I was ordering at the counter but I was being ignored. I ordered the quesadilla pizza and a large draft beer. The pizza was good but lacking sauce and a bit dry. I never got my beer but instead I finally went and got my own soft drink. The owner is taking orders, waiting tables, clearing tables, and making the pizza. The pizza was ok and the price was fair but with one person doing everything even with 4 other employees in the kitchen, the customer loses. Two stars for forgetting my beer, dry pizza and a feeling better of general chaos. read more

Ignore the older reviews as some people have given some bad reviews 2+ years ago and weren't about the food. For a little hole in the wall in a small town, this place had some delicious pizza! You could tell the cheese was real , the crust was hand tossed , and the sauce was just right. My husband and I shared a medium meat lovers. We figured that would be a safe choice. They also have sandwiches, burgers, calzones, pastas. Our cousin had a burger and he enjoyed it a lot. The little Italian man who owned the place was pleasant and his staff was friendly. We were staying in Jefferson and this was the only place that was still open.We were hungry so we decided to order from this place.We ordered thin crust but somehow got a thick crust.The pizza itself was ok but nothing special.It did the job that's all I can say about it.Not sure if I would recommend the place but when that's the only place open I guess you don't have a choice. read more

We made a lunch visit here some time ago and it was great. We tried this place at the recommendation of several people. They have been serving this food for about 25 years with this location about 15 years. The food was very good. We started with some Fried Pickle slices and they were good...we always prefer spears more. We ate the thin crust Meat Lovers Pizza at the owners recommendation and it was very good. The meaty Calzone was very tasty esp in the Ranch Dressing. The Spaghetti and the Wings finished it off for us......altogether a great meal. read more

We were camping in the area and wanted to try something local so we went to Bulldog Pizza. We ordered the Bulldog and a meat lovers. We picked it up at the drive through and took it back to camp. We always stay at the icehouse across the street from bulldogs pizza so all we have to do is walk across the street. We come here 5 times a year for all the events . This small place delivered the best shrimp alfredo ever had... The pizza was also very excellent. We chose to eat there twice during our visit to Jefferson during our time passing through. The past two or three times I've tried to eat there I've just gotten so sick to my stomach from the piles of cheese on the pizza and the little to no sauce... and even if there was more sauce the sauce is quite nasty, there's also either too much bread or too little... The pizza is good here. There are 2 things I did not like. I can not drink when I eat but they will charge you per person for drinks because they do not want people sharing . The food was awful; overcooked (hard to even bite through) toasted ravioli, the chicken sandwich was bland and 75% shredded iceberg lettuce, and the Italian salad was also mostly iceberg lettuce with a pouch of dressing on the side. Bulldog Pizza is on the main road with limited parking. They have a drive thru which was busy. When you come thru the front door you're met not by a hostess at a hostess stand, but you'll see the window to the kitchen to your left where a lady (owner?) is seated at a cash register in the kitchen where they bring out food and cash out patrons. She tells us to take a seat anywhere and told we first must visit the drink station to pour our own drinks. I make an iced tea which was fresh and good and my wife got a Coca-Cola fountain drink We made our way to a back booth. There were two TVs on in the dining room on opposite sides of the room. We were one of about four or five tables who were eating or waiting for food. Menus, napkins, and silverware were already on the table. We didn't wait very long until someone came from the kitchen to take our order. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs with a side salad and Italian dressing. My wife finally settled on a small meat pizza. She had the choice of thin, regular or deep crust and picked regular hand-tossed. Their menu heavily leans on their pizzas, but trey also have a pretty wide selection of other dishes if you want Italian but don't want a pizza. Calzones, Stromboli, pastas, lasagna and more populate the menu. As we waited for our dinner to arrive, I watched patrons get up to refill their drinks and they didn't appear annoyed. They must be locals. I watched a guy come from the kitchen and take orders from the window (right next to customers trying to pay) and take them to their tables. After not too long, our food arrives, though not at the same time. My salad comes first (ok), then my spaghetti and three min later my wife's pizza. Salad was good. It was a typical side salad in a small plate that you would get anywhere. Lettuce tomatoes and all were very fresh. It came with the dressing in a pre packaged envelope that you tear open. Spaghetti and meatballs were very tasty. After they dished it up, they spread mozzarella on top and baked it - yummy and came with a garlic roll. The pizza was great. My wife gave me a slice. It had pepperoni sausage hamburger and was good! Crust was perfect. So listen, if you're used to attentive service, don't come here. But if you want some Italian food, this us a pretty good place. Remember, the pace is slower in Jefferson and it is reflected in most restaurants here I'd suggest you come and slow down, keep your comments to yourself and enjoy the good food. We tried this pizza place on a whim. We had heard mixed reviews and wanted to find out for ourselves. It's a cute little brick building just beyond downtown Jefferson. The traditional Texas star adorns the front door. The dining area is the size of a large living room. There are probably 10 booths and 8 tables. Maybe more. It's well laid out. The walls are decorated with lovely prayer rugs & platters with Arabic writing. There are a few animal trophies & 2 tvs. The menu is traditional pizza place fare with decent prices. We ordered side salads, cheesy bread & pizza. The side salad was just that. Iceberg, tomatoes & shredded cheese. The cheesy bread was light & fluffy with the perfect amount of cheese. The marinara dipping sauce was good. We ordered a bulldog combo pizza. It was great! It had everything you could ask for. Crispy crust. Fresh ingredients. Not too greasy!! The staff seemed to be the owners, a married couple. They were kind & met our needs. When we left, they gave us a warm farewell. It's not fancy, by any means. It's a small hometown pizza place. It is definitely better than a cheapo $5 pizza or a $4.99 pizza buffet. Go there. It's worth it. read more

We are giving it a shot, because there are two places in town open on Sunday evening, but I'm discouraged by the fact that the menus are filthy. Service was good, fast and friendly. You can tell its a family restaurant. Drinks are serve yourself which I actually like. There are two TVs in the dining area (one giant and one small). We ordered a medium combo pizza, which was plenty big for the two of us. We really liked the crispiness of the crust, but the peperoni looked a little funny. I told my husband I hoped it was just extra crispy and not 'bad'. He wasn't sure. I am posting pics so you can judge for yourself. It was $16 for one drink and a medium combo pizza. read more

We ordered take out. The pizza was the best thing. The shrimp fettuccine was very watery and a very small portion. I couldn't even taste the sauce because it was so watered down. There were 6 very tiny shrimp. The Penna with Marinara had soggy pasta and again was a very small portion. My husband ordered buffalo wings which I did not taste but the grease was pouring out if the styrofoam container and he said they were "horrible". The pizza on the other hand was very tasty.
