Hey everyone! Just wanted to share my experience with Bullfrog in case you're thinking of hiring them for tile cleaning and acid wash. I kept getting their ads in the mail and they always looked tempting. I'm extra cautious about hiring contractors because I've had to deal with shoddy work when I tried to save a few bucks before. I don't mind paying a bit more for quality service, so I was hopeful about Bullfrog based on the quality of their advertisements and the reviews online. Things started off friendly and professional - I called, they sounded nice, and I explained what I needed. They said I'd get a callback with a quote, and after an hour or so, I did. I approved it, and was told someone would follow up to schedule. Then things got a little awkward. Bullfrog called back three times just to get the scheduling sorted; it felt like they may subcontract the work, but I'm not 100% sure about that.. The first time, they forgot to ask about washout access for draining. The second time, they asked if I had a gate code. The third time, I was told they couldn't honor the original quote without a sales visit. I had already mentioned calcium spots on my pebble tech that I wanted cleaned with an acid wash, but then I was hit with a surprise - there's a per-spot charge for calcium build up. I was pretty turned off by that, so I canceled right away. Coincidentally, after all that upselling and hassle, I shopped around and found out that Bullfrog charges about double what other local tile cleaning companies charge. So, in the end, I'm pretty sure they're taking advantage of customers with sales tactics that aren't really fair or competitive with the local market. Definitely get a few quotes before hiring! Bullfrog's upselling pricing model defiantly caused me to look at other bids which ended up saving me a ton of money. Hope this helps! read more

I used Bullfrog once. Initially, the pool looked good. Afterwards, as it dried I noticed many areas that were not throughly cleaned. Additionally, I noticed a glass in a lantern on the pool edge had been broken by the beads used in cleaning. The serviceman did not mention the broken glass. I sent Bullfrog pictures and they wanted to return. I declined - they did enough damage the first time. The pool had been refilled and I didn't want them to cause more damage. I recently moved into my home just 3 months ago. Before moving in, I had a full professional inspection done on the pool and all of the equipment, and everything was in perfect working condition. Not a single issue was reported. Shortly after settling in, I made the unfortunate decision to hire this company for service--and that's when everything started going downhill. From the beginning, they recommended an acid wash and quoted me nearly $2,000. I was desperate to get the pool cleaned, so I agreed. It took an entire month to even schedule the service, and in that time, my pool got worse. When a technician finally showed up, he drained all the water and then claimed an acid wash wasn't necessary, saying the pool was stained from a "chemical imbalance." It was clear he didn't know what he was talking about, and worse, he acted with a dismissive, lazy attitude. This was supposed to be a simple one-day job and turned into a two-day mess. Their staff seems untrained and unqualified. I genuinely don't believe they have the proper education or experience to be servicing pools. They contradict each other, give inconsistent recommendations, and seem more interested in pushing expensive services than actually helping customers. Then came the biggest red flag: after working with them, I was told my salt system was now "broken" and had to be replaced--for a total of $400 ($200 for the part and $200 in labor). This was shocking, considering the pool passed inspection with flying colors just 3 months earlier. It felt like they were inventing problems just to charge me more. It's become clear that their business model relies on taking advantage of customers who may not know better. It's dishonest and predatory. To top it all off, months later, someone wearing the company's shirt began pounding on my door early in the morning. I hadn't scheduled any service. He entered my backyard without permission, causing my dogs to go crazy. When I called the office, they acted clueless and said they didn't know who it was--until I confronted the man and got his name, and only then did they admit he was one of their employees. No call, no text, no heads-up--just a random guy in my yard. Completely unacceptable. This company operates with zero professionalism, zero communication, and zero integrity. They seem to be more focused on dominating the Phoenix market than providing any real service or value. I don't know how they maintain such high reviews--maybe they invest more in manipulating online feedback than actually doing the job right. I would strongly advise anyone to stay away from this company. My experience was filled with delays, lies, surprise charges, unprofessional behavior, and a clear lack of honesty. There are plenty of other companies out there--don't fall into the trap of hiring this one just because of a polished website or high review count. I couldn't be happier with the job Bullfrog performed on our pool. My tech, Gage, came out the day before to drain the pool and gave me an exact amount to do the job and what that entails. Gage came back the next day and removed the white line on the tile. After completing that he started the acid wash. Our pool had dark blotchy areas on the pool walls and floor. When Gage poured the acid down the pool walls you could see the black areas run down with the acid. It was gross looking. Once he finished acid washing he pressure washed the pool. What the acid missed the power wash took care of the rest. He finished with a coat of sealer on the tile. The sealer gives a little sheen to the tile. I like the look. Totally impressed with the work completed this morning! I've spent MANY of my pool days hand scrubbing the calcium build up off the tiles, and I absolutely dreaded it. Searched out a few quotes and read lots of reviews and finally decided on Bullfrog. While it took a while to get an appointment (booked roughly a month ago), it was worth the wait. I HIGHLY recommend booking early. Also, be prepared to be flexible as my appointment was adjusted a couple times based on a variety of reasons. In the end, again, totally worth it... but another good reason to book early. Their tech, Christian, showed up first thing this morning, took a quick measurement of the pool to determine the final price, reviewed it all with me prior to starting work and then jumped in! He drained off a few inches of the water into the house's clean out drain to better expose the tile and used compressed air and a mild abrasive (biodegradable and will be mostly vacuumed out) to clean each tile. A quick pass over the grout also brought back its brightness. Was really impressed with how quick and how well the job was accomplished. The tech also mentioned it will take a couple days for the water to clear up after the cleaning, so book it on a Mon-Wed if you plan on having a swim event soon after. While it's probably safe to swim in immediately after, you'll likely have a sandy residue on ya. A couple days of normal filtering should take care of any residual cloudiness. I'll also tell ya that I priced out several other companies and Bullfrog had a much more reasonable quote/final price tag. Their crew, customer service, and overall experience was excellent. Very overpriced (labor) fee in my opinion. My request for drainage, spray cleaning, and "Acid Wash", a 2.25 hour job, onsite including time to set-up draining pump, and tube. My service request included making sure the pop-ups filtering worked. The tech said he sprayed them and they should be fine. They are are not fine. Nothing was done on pop-ups at all. Additionally, I requested regular service to maintain my pool. They showed interest to get the Acid Bath cleaning job for $650 + tip. They are not in the business of maintaining pools due to staffing. Polite, but I don't recommend. Maybe one bad experience. Why me. Shame. read more

A technician was scheduled for "today" to give a firm quote. The appointment was scheduled last week. I rearranged my schedule and waited all day. No call, no text, no update until 4:30 pm, telling me the technician could not make my appointment and if I could reschedule. I dialed the phone number, and got a recording that the "next available representative will be with you". After waiting at home ALL day, I was not about to wait on the phone. I've always learned and lived by "you only have once change to make a good first impression". I don't know their level of work, obviously, but will be looking at other companies with better customer service. UPDATE: Jardin called and came out first thing the next day (today) and apologized for the inconvenience and mix-up. He provided me a quote with an additional discount. I'm in the que for scheduling, so I am changing my rating from 1 star to 3 stars and will fully update it once the project is complete. UPDATE 2: Jardin worked very hard to get our project on the schedule sooner than the anticipated August time frame. They were able to schedule our tile cleaning with a couple days to make thing right. The job was finished today and the quality, customer service and work ethic were outstanding!
