I don't use D.A.P., my nextdoor neighbor does. I guess for 3 years she has used them . Our RV gates are together on one fence block. Ever time there lazy worthless tech comes to clean her cartridges, he washes them in the very corner of her gate, and it all runs right into my yard. I'm sick of the sand,dog hair,and the grit I have to clean up. I called D.A.P. and all they could say is next time, amongst other lies ,is next time (6 months) they won't do it again. The company is dishonest and doesn't take responsibility nor accountability for their actions and mistakes. They don't listen to the customer's needs either. I have or had 2 properties that were serviced by Desert Art Pools and they are a HUGE disappointment! I had a repair requested that was never completed and when I called back I was told it wasn't the same area leaking. Which is incorrect, the same area is still leaking,. They say they provide a complete service report and the initial leak and subsequent leaks were not reported. We were disappointed earlier this year with conflicting pricing quotes and services provided. However we did like our maintenance tech and decided to give them another chance. Fast forward - While away attending to personal business our electric heater was mistakenly turned on by the maintenance tech and left running for 2 weeks . I received a huge bill of $1000 from APS and when I called APS they pinpointed the source of the excessive use of energy to the spa running so long approx 360 continuous hours. APS was able to tell us the exact date and time it was turned on ( yes the time and date Desert Art Pools came out to service our pool). We can see a mistake happening the first week, but on the next visit the following week, it should have been turned off or at least a phone call to let us know it was on, and ask how to shut it off if he didn't know. But at the end of week 2, the maintenance tech did call and asked if I could turn the pump off remotely. I can turn off the pump remotely. But not the spa. Which I turned off myself the next day upon my return. I checked the spa water temp and the water was warm, but not hot, so here we go with another problem and we're hoping an element wasn't burned out as a result. Now,after paying the bill already, my husband and I brought this issue to the owner. His immediate response was that tech 's shouldn't turn on the spas at all. The next response is that there should have been a charge to turn on the spa. Ok, fine with that, if there was a charge, no one said there was. Im assuming he thought we wanted to have him pay the bill. We weren't asking for $1000 our normal bill would run $250- $300. We like our tech very much and are very understanding of human error. Our thoughts were to have the company provide a small credit each month to go towards the bill. He just said he was "calling it" and discontinuing service. Never gave or offered any sort credit or compromise. He blamed the victims and packed up and left and not even servicing our pool. Then his office sent invoices for payment. In addition to the bill, we are left with the the spa not heating like it had prior to the 360 hours of continuous running. And it was just installed in March of 2024! We were looking to the professional to provide guidance on what to do next, who should we call? We aren't pool heating experts, we're retirees! Randy, said that has 300 pools service and in so many words we were not worth the time and effort. I cant imagine any other business based on customer service who would have the gall to be so insulting. This company lacks management, customer relations training and good old fashioned ETHICS, and I would not recommend them to anyone. I should have given more thought to the other 1 star reviews. I know next time. I expect another "Cover Myself" response, or untruths in response to this review. But that will be just another case in point. read more

We got the name of Desert Art Pools from Leslie's Pool Supplies after my Dad passed away and we needed someone to come out and clean and drain his pool. Randy came out the very next day and got the job done. He was super kind and did super fast work. He came back a few weeks later to clean it again and fill it for us and Desert Art Pools will now be doing the cleaning on it permanently. Thanks Randy and Jack for all your hard work! Randy (the owner) is incredibly responsive and can solve just about any pool issue there is, all the while with a pleasant and helpful demeanor. The two hour advertised response time is a fallacy, my reply to have a green pool cleaned, took 5 days. I also asked the company to reply with a call or text and provided my telephone, instead responded( 5 days after request) on yelp. I dont understand why small service family run companies can't reply on a timely basis. I'm certain owner will reply with some excuse. I did not hire this company read more

David B. We used this company for 4 years at a previous address and 2 years at my current residence. The company has grown and the personal service that Randy used to provide and once was the best in the business, became the WORST! They became too big, the pool staff changes often, Randy never returns phone calls and the office manager is condescending, rude and knows NOTHING about providing quality customer support. They used to have staff who came to my home and spent a good 30 minutes servicing my pool. Now, the technician shows up, skims my pool, then leaves. We have cameras that show him arriving and departing in less than 10 minutes! I do more work on the weekend than he does and not once have we ever missed a payment for the inadequate service being provided. I WOULD NOT recommend this company!!! If you need a someone to service your pool, look elsewhere! These guys are HORRIBLE and in addition to posting on every website and social media option available, I'm filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau! read more

I try not to write bad reviews for small businesses unless I truly feel they are deserving because I love supporting them, however, after multiple issues with Desert Art Pools I can truly say I would never use their service or recommend them to anyone. The customer service is absolutely horrible which falls in line with the quality of the work. I informed them I had small dogs prior to my service starting and they not only left the side gate open but left the lid to the skimmer basket off and both could've caused major issues for my pets. On top of this, I noticed my pool still looked dirty after they came to "clean" it so after a couple weeks I decided to install outdoor cameras only to find the gentleman was there for less than 5 minutes each visit. Then on another occasion, I noticed the setting to my pool timer had been adjusted and when I reached out to ask, I was told they would look into it and get back to me. Weeks went by and I never heard back so I finally had enough and decided to cancel my service. I went out to skim the pool a couple days after their last visit and noticed the floating chlorine dispenser was COVERED in algae and there wasn't any chlorine tablets in it. I find it hard to believe this would've happened a couple days after their visit if they would've been cleaning properly and testing the chemicals like the report they send after each visit indicates. They also never said there was an issue so I assumed everything was great. Also, I used their service for approximately four months. I could see if this happened over the span of year but four months? Extremely disappointed.I've tried emailing and have left voicemails but no response. read more

When we knew we were going to build a pool, we got 4 quotes (wanted more but some company's didn't call us back....). Randy returned my call, agreed to meet at the house to give me a quote. He was the only one who called the day of the appointment to confirm (a professional detail nobody else performed). In honesty, his was the most expensive quote...yet....he also seemed the most professional. His contract is all inclusive: if a price goes up, you don't pay the increase. Once the contract is signed that is all you pay. From the time we signed our contract to the time the equipment was purchased the price went up $7K - we didn't pay another penny! The quality of the work is terrific. The communication is the best. Randy (the owner) or Matt (Randy's assistant) show up to the site any time there's a sub contractor. I think the thing that really separates Desert Art Pools from other pool builders is that they build every pool as though they are building it for family! While the pool isn't finished....we are days (maybe weeks) ahead of schedule. Let me ask you this, who do you know that is any days ahead of schedule in this post covid Summer of 2021? Neighbor across the street is months behind (he went with a company that didn't even call us back). Same neighbor has been uncharged thousands of dollars for "unexpected" work. With Desert Arts, if there's an unexpected expense....Desert Arts has it included -- no surprise contracting! If you want a team that shows up, does the job, tries to do the job as quickly as possible, treats you like you are family and not just a check....I really do suggest you go with Desert Arts. We will continue to use them post pool build as our pool service people. read more
