First, let me say that I've been using Bulwark for several years. At first, they were great. I had the same technician, Wayne, every time. He was friendly and professional and provided great service that met my needs. The pricing has always been a touch higher than other companies, but given the high level of service, I didn't mind paying the extra. Sadly, over the last 12 months service has been in slow decline, and has now hit the point where I'll be shopping for another provider. Here's why: 1. Scheduling. This company is incapable of providing any sort of reasonable notice time for service. It is not uncommon to come home on a Friday evening to a phone message saying that the tech will be out on Monday morning, which leaves me only that same Monday morning to rearrange if it's not suitable. And if I do need to rearrange, the customer service reps are extremely rude about it, acting as if it's this huge inconvenience for THEM! I've had service reps try to bully me into agreeing to times not suitable for me, just because they need to make the contract service before the end of the month. Well, they shouldn't have waited until the last day of the month to attempt to schedule. How hard is it to call a week out? 2. Inconsistency with service reps. Though Wayne used to be my service tech, at some point he stopped coming and somebody else did, but I was not notified. I can tell because I no longer receive receipts for service, so I have no idea if anyone even came for the exterior service, except for the fact I receive a bill. 3. Overall poor customer service at the office. Messages don't get forwarded, calls are not returned, and general rudeness of staff on the phone. 4. Cost. This company charges a premium over other companies, and I no longer see a benefit in paying that premium, particularly since the service is so awful. If you want to pay a bucket of money to be treated like an annoyance, then this is the company for you. If you want professional, personalized service, shop elsewhere. read more

We had a fantastic experience with Bulwark Pest Control. They came out for a one time business and, unlike most other pest control companies we've dealt with, they did not pressure us to sign a long term contract. Our technician for the visit was Wayne. He was courteous, professional, and thorough during his work in our home. Even more impressive was that he arrived when he said he would - he even called us when he was on his way. I have used Bulwark exterminating for about 4 years now. On their first visit, they sprayed all around the house and garage, but now they come out every other month (for only $61!), spray the outside of the house, and leave without disturbing anyone. It's great - they automatically set up an appointment for me every month, show up while I'm at work, and I haven't seen a bug in 4 years. read more

This company employs the dumbest of the dumb! We didn't have a major bug problem, except for spiders. The initial visit got rid of the spiders, but they came back and subsequent visits did not help. We also had bees and wasps, but they didn't go away at all. The biggest problem with this company is the fact that they schedule appointments without letting you know. We'd get a call from the exterminator saying I'll be there for your scheduled visit in 15 minutes. Ummm - we didn't have a scheduled appointment! I'm not home, don't come. So you call the office and tell them that we didn't have an appointment and that we will call them next week to set one up. Three days later - the exterminator calls AGAIN and will be there in 15 minutes. I cancelled the service and they actually wanted me hold on to cancel. Really??? The tried explaining that I had an every other month service and that if I wanted to have service just when I called for it, then it would be significantly more expensive. Did you not understand - CANCEL the service? PS - After reading another review, I realized that our guy Marty (who is actually very nice) also calls from a number that is NOT the Bulwark number. No problems here. They are always on schedule and the service guy is very friendly. They have made a big difference with our scorpion problem. If you pay for a whole year in advance they give you a discount. I switched to them after trying three different companies in town and they are the best. read more

Christian Slack came out this past week and sprayed around my home for crickets, spiders, scorpions, roaches, silverfish, and cockroaches. My technician was Bruce Bufford. He was polite, professional, thorough, and very informative. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I was told he would be here at 5 or 530pm, but he arrived at 6. We were not notified of the time change, and even the paperwork had 530 scratched out and 6 written below. Normally, I wouldn't complain, but I had a friend who just arrived from out of town and we had plans that we were late for. Otherwise, I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again. We had Bulwarks do an inside and outside extermination on July 18, 2016. They refused to spray any farther than 10 feet from the perimeter of the house, which is not far enough to keep the bugs from coming back. It's been 4 days and we are still killing fast moving spiders and earwigs inside at the rate of 6-8 per day, which is how many we had before they showed up. We have not had any dead bugs inside the house, which is what normally happens after a service call. There are no traps set in the garage, which has always been the norm from a previous company. It felt like they charged us $150 to spray a few corners and don't really care if it worked. I called this morning to talk about the issue and the woman on the phone actually tried to sell me on more service. She was very quick to hang up the phone when I declined and didn't seem to care one bit that I was not happy with my service. I am so upset at the whole experience that I'm writing my first review, ever. I usually just vow not to use someone again and move on. Not this time. We've used Bulwarks before and been happy with our service. I guess a lot has changed in the last 4 years. I don't see any reason to use this company unless you have way too much money and don't really want to fix a bug problem. read more

They got rid of our few scorpions-they do a special powder in the electrical sockets so that they don't lay their eggs anymore! our favorite guy - Maze Tufele is excellent - they call when they are on the way to the house - they call a few days ahead to let you know when they are coming and even give a time frame! Bulwark has the best customer service EVER! Marty, our technician, is THE BEST!! We could not have asked for a nicer person who actually cares about the customers. We had an issue with sugar ants between routine service, Marty came out and took the time to find the location that they were entering our home and put an end to the ant problem. He scheduled a follow up appointment prior to leaving and made numerous follow up calls to check if ants were still a problem. Yesterday he came to our house for routine service and once again exceeded our expectations. Marty found a space at the bottom of our front door that bugs could potentially be using to get into our house. Before leaving he fixed the open space on the door. It was a small thing, but completely professional... Maze came out for our scheduled service. He came to the door and I told him my wife was in the shower but he could get started everywhere else. So Maze started outside and in the garage but then waited outside. I was thinking, "What's he doin' out there?" Well, he was just waiting for the go-ahead that there would not be a naked lady in one of the bedrooms. Ha... It was unnecessary obviously since my wife wouldn't be running around nekkid, but for many of folks out there that are worried about male strangers coming over to their house, I can completely appreciate it. Another thing he's done on multiple visits. If he goes outside to his truck or to spray, he always waits at the door or rings again before he re-enters (even if we have the door open). Again, not necessary, but pretty cool and professional. My wife and I were even saying to eachother that it stinks we're going to have to find another good bug company once we move to San Diego. read more

Bulwark is very responsive to my needs. If I see any bug inside my house, I call to schedule a follow-up service, and they have been able to accommodate my request within 3-5 days. So far, I have only seen a few small bugs (on isolated occasions), which were dead. When I lived in a condo in another part of town without service, I would find an occasional roach inside, but it would be much larger and very much alive. Bulwark's technicians are very responsive and courteous. In particular, Sione went above and beyond to make sure my inside service was completed, despite a miscommunication with the scheduling coordinator. I called a number of companies prior to beginning service, and Bulwark offered competitive pricing and reasonable philosophy about frequency and approach of treatment. I want to give shout outs to a few of my agents, hard working men. One is Eric and he does most of our properties and is always so friendly. If your not in a good mood and he is in your yard spraying, go outside and say hello to him. That's all it will take before you are smiling and enjoying his conversation. The other young man is Drake, he was at one of our properties when I happened to be there and asked if there were any area's of concern. How great is that. I pointed to the little girls castle and told him he might want to spray in and around that play area for good measures.
