I have to say I'm really disappointed because I loved let me correct myself loved this place then about a few months ago. They started using the cheapest chicken tiny parts. They're all overcooked and like little pieces of overcooked rubber and it's been consistently happening overcooked rubbery small bits of cheap chicken and they charge good money for this plate. You know rice is so cheap and they use the tiniest cheapest pieces of vegetable and that's all good but you know if you're gonna charge that kind of money you need to cook the chicken for properly and give off of it. The teriyaki sauce comes on the side so it doesn't pre-drown your food in all that sweetness! They'll make it spicy at no extra charge if you dare! This is a great place for a quick affordable lunch. Its wedged between two other shops in the middle of the chaos that is the Family Center Midvale shopping center. Its closer to the Walmart side off of 13th East so skip driving through the parking lot madness from the Ft Union side. Having been here a few times I've really enjoyed all of the different choices they have. There is the requisite Chicken, Steak and Pork teriyaki along with the option of Shrimp too. The portions are a good size and are served in a bowl with white rice and stir fried vegetables. If you're looking for a little more daring dish, they have the chicken available spicy in 4 different levels. It looks like the same hot sauce at each level, so I'd have to guess that they just vary the amount that they cook it in on the grill. Everything always is prepared fresh at lunch and you can see the grill and wok loaded up with meat right behind the cashier. The turn around time on the orders is very quick. By the time you pay with your card, sign the receipt and grab utensils you're sure to have you food waiting for you on the counter. I've had the miso soup too, which they served in a huge container for $2.25. It could easily be shared between two people. The Udon noodles are also a great substitute for the side of rice. They seem to know how to cook it correctly as it never has been under or over done. And I'm a little nuts about this but they serve Coke and not Pepsi and that always seals the deal for me. I really avoid places with Pepsi, I just don't like it. Great quick eats spot that is hidden among the chain restaurant hysteria that is all around the Ft Union area. So next time you're in the mood for the Pei Wei at Ft Union, give the local Teriyaki Grill around the corner a try. read more

I was suspicious, I mean it's a little place in a strip mall and I did not trust this strangers recommendation. So I didn't go. But after having gone to the pie a few times, the delicious smell outside was undeniable, I had to try the place. It is small, with a small menu; however, they do those few things well. I had the teriyaki chicken bowl with brown rice. The rice has a great texture, the steamed broccoli, carrot and cabbage are a perfect complement for the delicious, flame grilled teriyaki chicken. I don't recommend the noodles. I got a little chicken bowl with noodles for my two year old twins and it was not as good as the rice. They agreed as well and ate my rice. I have been here and to another valley location now many times. For a fairly light and healthy dinner or lunch, you can't go wrong. The staff is always friendly and you always no what to expect. Really good food for a not so price tag! I order the smaller portion of the chicken teriyaki (aka chicken little, as the cashier called it) and it comes with lots of rice, chicken, teriyaki sauce on the side (which i appreciated since i like to go light on all sauces) and vegetables. This little size is a decent lunch size! Chicken looked dry and not so appetizing but oh man it was good! The chicken and rice were melting in my mouth, and the sauce was just sweet enough and not overwhelming as I have tried in other places. Service was super fast and friendly, food was fresh and yummy, the place was incredibly quiet for such a busy area and they had newspapers available for reading which is always nice for when you have a long lunch and not much to do. Their sauce is pretty tasty, but I had to ask for a second helping. Also, I didn't see any cock sauce around, but luckily ordered my food cooked spicy anyway. It was kind of hot inside the eating area and there weren't any seats outside, which would have been nice. We almost sat in the Jamba Juice seats next door to escape the heat. Shortly after giving birth last September, we discovered that the baby is allergic to dairy. Once we realized why he was crying incessantly, I did what any mom would do and cut everything dairy out of my diet. This also means I cut most restaurants out as well. After a couple regretful attempts at Mexican and American eating establishments, we decided to stick with what we know to be safe-- Asian food! Luckily for me, that's one of my favorites, so I had zero objections to trying out a new place: Teriyaki Grill. There was nothing really overwhelmingly special about how the small strip mall restaurant was decorated. It had a few pictures of Japanese/Chinese (is there even a way to tell between the two?) words on the walls, as well as a giant gong with the name of the restaurant cut out of it. One thing I did love was the tables. They were more modern in style, being a neat translucent green and white. I didn't look at them and think Asian restaurant, I just really liked them. The very best part, however, were three framed pictures of a few of the dishes they offer. If I were to guess, I'd say the manager had gotten a new phone with an 8 megapixel camera and wanted to show off his cool, new toy... *face palm * A "good quality" camera does not a photographer make... The kitchen and register were manned by two late teens/early 20's girls who, although nice, didn't seem to really be thrilled about being at work. One was slightly preoccupied by whomever she was texting, and the other looked like she just wanted to make it through the day (even though the restaurant had only been open for the day for literally 5 minutes). My biggest complaint, however, was the large plastic jar with the taped-on, handwritten "tip" sign. Tips are for people who go above and beyond their job description to make the experience pleasurable for their guests. These girls didn't even bring the food out to us. They simply shouted out across the restaurant our order and left it on the counter for me to pick up myself. Sadly, the empty tip jar remained that way. Matt ordered his usual: the Teriyaki Bowl with combination beef and chicken, steamed vegetables, and brown rice. I got the Teriyaki pulled pork with noodles and vegetables. We both agreed that the steamed vegetables were cooked perfectly. Even the cabbage was great, having a slight crunch to it! Matt was very satisfied with his meal. I really enjoyed the flavors of mine (though in the future I'll probably stick with my usual order of rice instead of noodles), but I did end up having to grab an extra fork so I could shred my "pulled" pork myself. Don't get me wrong. It looked like they had attempted at pulling it, but with their overwhelming lunch rush of exactly one other person, I can understand they were in too much of a hurry to thoroughly get the job done. Teriyaki Grill was exactly what I was hoping it would be: a nice lunch spot with a dairy-free menu for a reasonable price. The crew in there is all Spanish with little English understanding. Down the street there's a panda express and other Japanese food establishments. Everyone who knows me knows that I am very picky with Teriyaki houses, because they over do it with the sauce. Being here for a year and seeing this place everytime I go to Walmart. My coworker said hey let's go to Teriyaki Grill for team lunch. I was like i don't know. She said come on, you'll like it. Reluctantly I went and thank goodness I did. The people were nice and friendly and catered to my request of placing the sauce on the side, so that I can choose the amount I want on my food. Little did I know that it already comes om the side, which I thought was awesome. I got the spicy chicken and steak. They have a few layers of heat you can add even one called Death Crier. That name alone scared me so I went with a medium heat. The white rice was cooked well. The veggies were perfect, I put a little of that sauce and was all good. The chicken and pork were all succulent and tasty. I will be back now that I had a great experience. read more
