Really cool record store inside the Filipino market grocery store…read more Great selection of vinyl, especially Japanese pressings and city pop from Japan. Friendly staff too. I'll be back!

On a whim I stopped through what seemed like the unlikeliest of pairings: a Filipina grocery market…read morefused with a record store! My curious skepticism disappeared as soon as I walked into the collectibles section, heard a smart new-ish groove playing from the speakers and started thumbing through an amazing array of curated vinyl of all kinds on sale. I pulled a few items from the bargain collection that I figured had to be in lesser condition: 1. Because of their relatively discounted price 2. Because the gentleman working at checkout forewarned me That said all the titles I found were worth the risk. I even found a laser disc of Purple Rain (a heck of a collectible for a super fan like me) That same gentleman quickly taught me 2 things to look for in evaluating vinyl that I didn't know before. (Wish I knew his name. He gave me a card that I presumed had his name on it, but doesn't). The best part? Getting home and expecting to have damaged, static laden vinyl that occasionally skipped BUT getting the opposite! The original album covers and inner sleeves may not have been mint condition, but they were as clean, intact & more meticulously organized than pieces I've paid much more for in the past. Even the imperfect sections of wax were playable. I can't stress how well kept the used vinyl that I purchased were! The folks in this shop must have a keen eye & ear for quality. I'm definitely coming back

HUGE used book store and well worth the drive!…read more Their trade in process was really straightforward - when you walk in there's a trade in counter where they ask you to put your books into bins. I had one large bag that I sorted between two bins, one for books and the other for single issue comics and DVDs/non-books. About 45 minutes later I got a text that my trade-in was ready. I came back to the same counter after browsing the store and they offered me in-store credit or a lower amount in cash. They also returned the items they didn't want and I had the option to take them with me or leave them as a donation. I think it was a fair deal for what I donated, and I opted for the in-store credit. The store has a great mix of used books, dvds, comics, vinyl, and more that's pretty well organized. I will say there's a fair amount of duplicates of certain titles and it was interesting that some were priced higher than others - so check all the labels! In general the prices were reasonable with a few exceptions - I saw a really worn copy of a new hardback that they were selling for the list price ($35!) even though it had been out long enough that other books sellers were discounting it already. But then I also got a box set of dvds for $10 and a bunch of kids books for $0.50-2.00. It was easy to spend that in-store credit!

I have been shopping at this store for years now, unfortunately todays trip will be my last. Mckays…read morehas always had inaccurate pricing, but today they were so bad that I almost thought I was dreaming. Tell me why I saw Star Wars the Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels for $18... Currently this game goes for $3.67 on pricecharting, heck when it game out in 2008 its peak was only a measly $5. Multiple gbc/gba shovelware games all overmarket, by around 10 dollars as well. In general the amount of 3-5 dollar games that they are trying to pass off as 15 - 20 dollar games is dis gracefully disgusting. The point of traveling to these stores are to get the good deals. All of the inventory they have are traded in for or donated so it makes NO sense! It seems that the employees make guesses when it comes to prices, that or they are being told to overprice by upper management. By the gaming section there was a sign that claimed that all of the consoles and equipment is tested beforehand by "gamers with over 30 years of experience" whatever that means. I got an Xbox One Kinect from them back in December, and worked normally. A couple days later I wanted to try using its mic functionality, was not functioning. So it was never fully tested by "gamers with over 30 years of experience" lol. The worst part is that they give you a 3 day warranty... it's not like people have kids, jobs, or other commitments I guess. The media (dvds and blu rays) were also overpriced per usual. Usually only by 5-10 bucks. My main discrepancy today was that I saw multiple dvds and blu rays with dirt and filth smattered on the covers. Your telling me that they have the audacity to up charge, and still refuse to even spend 10 seconds wiping the cover with a lysol wipe? Is it that hard to do? Disgusting! I can't speak on their book pricing as I am not well versed but pretty much everything else is overpriced in this store. It really sucks because these type of stores are supposed to be for lower income families who can't buy new. And instead is being treated like a greedy gaming convention booth. I genuinely feel bad for kids nowadays who want to start growing a small gaming collection post pandemic. With greedy "thrift" stores like this, even the shovel ware games are off-limits.
