I spent about an hour looking through the higher priced comics along the front wall and finally settled on the perfect one. The store is the larger of the two they have in the shopping center. They took it over from Tuesday Morning when it went out of business. I think they indicated it was 18,000 sq feet. Probably the largest comic book store I've ever visited. They hold a variety of events at the store - for things like Free Comic Book Day, their 1 year anniversary party, and more. They also hold game sessions in the store every Friday evening. They hold a Kid's D&D session every other Friday evening, and on the other alternate Friday evenings - an Adult D&D game night. I've been playing D&D here for the last 7 months or so - loads of fun. They offer a free miniatures painting session every Wednesday evening. They will special order items for you - if they don't have them in stock. I recently took advantage of this and had them order me a copy of the "Pathfinder Player Core" book in hardcover. This is not a surface-level, small store where they display a tiny collection. They have almost everything. I think that's the most important thing you need to know about this place. I did notice the retro consoles and games like the SNES are priced quite steeply here. They are rare to come by in Northern Virginia, so I'd expect that.

The shop was well organized and had so much more than just comics -- from building models to artwork by local artists. The music playlist had great vibes, and the woman behind the counter was very personable and friendly. I left the shop with a graphic novel, manga (recommended by staff), a tote bag, sticker, and a single issue comic. An entire half of the restaurant was sectioned off for gaming and I saw a bunch of people sitting down and having fun. Their proximity to GMU makes this a great place to build local community. Snacks are available (thanks for the $1 water!!!) and they have clean bathrooms. Everyone was super friendly and now I have a whole list of new games I want to purchase.

For example, earlier today, I went to two closer stores and was told a box of Avatar MTG cards was over $210 ($174 on Amazon) then I went to Pair o' Dice and bought it at $180. I'll gladly support a local gaming shop that supports their customers and doesn't see us as sponges to squeeze. Good job, Pair o Dice. I will be back.
