This eatery is located in a small plaza anchored by Pizza Hut. It's near the Shoppers Drug Mart on the south side of Highway 7. On Tuesday evening, I went to run an errand at Whole Foods Market. I was already at Highway 7. Why not drive east to get dinner here? After I was done at Whole Foods, I sat in my car and ordered dinner through this eatery's online site. I got these items: - Original cold cut banh mi - $5.99 - House signature iced coffee with condensed milk - $6.99 I paid online. After taxes, it was under $15. Decent. I specified a 7 pm pickup time. I got there well before that time. I backed into a prime spot steps away from the door. There is a table with chairs outside to sit down and eat. You can also dine inside, but you have bar seating by the wall. It smelled so good. A man behind the counter was making a blended drink. A woman had just finished making a hot banh mi for a customer who was dining in. This woman came to help me out. I let her know that I had an order under my name. She found my sandwich. My iced drink needed ice. I watched her put it all together. I liked that she made it when I had arrived, rather than making it and having the ice melt. I thanked her. I grabbed my drink and food, and headed to my car. I sipped on my house signature iced coffee with condensed milk as I drove home. It was excellent. My default banh mi is always the cold cut. It's my benchmark to compare with other places. I was able to say no to cilantro. I'm okay with it, but sometimes I don't feel like it. Today was one of those days. The sandwich comes in regular and large sizes. I went with the regular. It was filling and packed with a lot of delicious ingredients. This place was generous with everything. I loved the butter, pâté, meat, and veggies. The bread was soft, but crusty on top. It was the perfect banh mi that was filling and yummy. Customizing your banh mi online is cool. You can even get it down to how many cuts you want your sandwich to have. The maximum is four cuts. I didn't bother being so specific. She also had something to drink, which she said was very good. I found the dipping broth a bit salty at first, but well balanced when had with the bánh mi. Mary's pho was missing the beef balls but that was soon corrected and she enjoyed it all. Although tiny (cozy), the dining room is very inviting, plus they have a little patio with umbrellas just outside the entrance. We chose to sit inside, avoiding the summer heat and bright sunlight. We enjoyed our meal while the traffic subsided.
