    Double Burger Patty with fries
    Jesus S.

After a night of drives and gatherings we decided go get a late night meal. I ordered on single cheeseburger and a double cheeseburger. I also ordered the fries. The double was a massive burger and everything was made fresh to order. The hand cut fries were absolutely amazing. Perfectly cooked and salted. The inside was clean, welcoming and spacious. We really enjoyed the vibe and mean. The prices are also decent.

The service was really quick considering most restaurants are on "island time". Food was hot and delicious, a great value too.

I went to restaurant on Saturday May 28th for lunch around 1ish in the afternoon. Restaurant is located in the Old San Juan, it was hot as well as humid that day. Decided to get a burger meal since I was doing a lot of walking. The burger joint is in great location, on the corner in Old San Juan. I ordered the cheeseburger along with cheese and ketchup & coke with no ice. The restaurant doesn't offer any refills on your pop, as well as the restaurant does offer besides burgers chicken, hot dogs, shakes, fries, onion rings, and they even have a plant base burger that's called Buns Beyond Burger. Once, you place your order with the Cashier, you'll get a buzzer, when your food is ready the buzzer will go off, then pick up food at the counter, and all the condiments will be on the table. Lastly, my food was made to order hot, fresh, and very delicious. I recommend when in the Old San Juan area.

Five Guys style burger shop, where you can get burgers, beyond burgers, varieties of hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, fries/onions rings, shakes, sodas and even different craft beers. The prices are reasonable. We tried the Buns Classic burger, Chicken Sandwich, cajun fries and IPA beer. The burgers and sandwiches come with any amount of toppings and other toppings are $1 extra. There are plenty of local, carribbean and asian sauces to choose from apart the ketchup, mayo and mustard trio. We chose this as the last option since the other local restaurants in the area were closed on Sunday or had long wait times. But we are glad we went here for "familiar American food".

Vianca made me a fan for life…read more We arrived really late after our flight and were scrambling to find somewhere to eat. St. Germain Bistro Bar happened to be right across from our Airbnb, and honestly it felt like we got lucky. Even though it was late, they seated us right away and helped us pull together two small tables so our family could sit comfortably. My kids were starving, so that alone was a huge relief. The portions for the kids' pasta and chicken nuggets were a little smaller than expected, but the flavor and quality were excellent. You could tell the food was made with care. I ordered the onion soup and the fried cheese with guava dip and wow. Absolutely delicious. The guava dip especially was incredible. I also had a mojito that was perfectly made. But what really made the night unforgettable was the kindness of the staff. My son had forgotten his inhaler and was having a hard time adjusting to the humidity. He was coughing a lot and clearly uncomfortable. Vianca noticed right away and went out of her way to help. She brought over honey and encouraged him to take a little shot with ginger and honey, then brought hot tea as well. She even suggested things like putting socks on him and using Vicks when we got back. When I mentioned that my kids are half Puerto Rican and their abuela already swears by those remedies, she just lit up and said, "Well you're home then, you already know what to do." That moment really stuck with me. The warmth, the care for kids, the genuine hospitality. It's exactly the kind of Puerto Rican kindness people talk about. The kitchen is small, so service can be a little slower, but it's absolutely worth the wait. The food is great, the drinks are great, and the people make the place special. If you're nearby, definitely stop in. Places like this are why people fall in love with Puerto Rico.

The hostess refused to kick them out. I overheard the group behind us who had made a reservation also be denied. After finally being seated, it took over an hour to get our food. The poulet was very good, but the bread we ordered was smeared with a red sauce where it been cut with an obviously dirty knife. At the end of the night, they gave us a free piece of cake on the house, which is the only reason why this review isn't one star. Also, our waitress was really nice and friendly, which raised the mood of the evening considerably. Other than that, though, I'm afraid I can't recommend this restaurant.

The vibe was great, the food was fresh and well made, and the service was friendly overall. A fun bonus: we actually got to see the famous rock band Maná dining there, which was such a cool surprise! We ordered quite a bit--the chips and queso, chips and guac, hot sauce, tamale, rice and beans, kids cheese quesadilla, and veggie fajitas. The kids' quesadilla was a huge hit with our 5-year-old (who is a picky eater and devoured it). The veggie fajitas were decent and tasty, though for the price I would have liked a bit more on the plate in terms of sides. There was a small hiccup where cilantro was accidentally added to one of my dishes, and it did take quite a while for the corrected dish to come out, but they were very kind about it. That said, everything else was enjoyable and the overall experience was still very good. Overall, a great spot for solid Mexican food in Old San Juan with a fun atmosphere and fresh flavors.

You can order either at the counter or at an online screen. We ordered on the screen. You would like those. There was not many clean tables when we arrived, but as we were leaving they were cleaning the tables - must have been rush hour as they were pretty busy. It took a little while to get our food and despite using the table drop option we had to go get our food at the front counter. That was no worries, but they forgot two separate items from our order. What we did get was fresh. There is no refills on soft drinks at this location - FYI.

There is a particular genus of institution that has achieved such ubiquity that it has ceased to be…read moreexperienced and has instead merely been endured. McDonald's is not a restaurant in any meaningful sense of the word. It is infrastructure. It is a utility. It is the fast food equivalent of a municipal sewage system -- present everywhere, desperately necessary to no one, and something the civilized person prefers not to think about too carefully while it is happening. And yet, here we are. Thinking about it. Because someone must. The Proposition McDonald's sells you the following promise: food, fast, cheap. It fulfills all three terms of this contract with depressing reliability. The food arrives quickly. It is inexpensive. Whether it qualifies as food in the nutritional, philosophical, or culinary sense of the word is a matter that the corporation's legal team has spent considerable resources ensuring you never fully resolve. The Big Mac -- that crown jewel of processed ambition -- is a construction of such engineered palatability that it bypasses the rational mind entirely and speaks directly to the most primitive, least discerning quadrant of the human brain. It does not taste good so much as it triggers a response that evolution has not yet learned to distinguish from tasting good. This is not cooking. This is neuroscience with a sesame seed bun. The McDouble exists at a price point so aggressively low that it constitutes, effectively, a financial argument against eating well. For the cost of a single piece of fruit, McDonald's will sell you two beef patties, processed cheese, ketchup, mustard, and the quiet understanding that you have made a choice that will compound with interest over the coming decades. The Obesity Question: Let Us Not Look Away It would be professionally irresponsible to review McDonald's in 2026 without addressing the gravitational reality that hovers over the golden arches like a particularly well-fed specter. The science is not subtle. Frequent consumption of fast food is strongly associated with weight gain, obesity, and related metabolic disorders including type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. McDonald's, as the world's largest fast food chain serving tens of millions of customers daily, occupies a position of extraordinary influence over the collective waistline of humanity -- an influence it has exercised with the ethical restraint of a casino that also sells cigarettes. A standard McDonald's meal -- a Big Mac, medium fries, and a medium soft drink -- delivers approximately 1,100 calories, 44 grams of fat, and 1,225 milligrams of sodium in roughly the time it takes to reconsider your life choices. This is not a meal. It is a cardiovascular event in a paper bag. The corporation's genius -- and one must acknowledge genius where it operates, however malevolently -- lies in its portion engineering. The supersizing era, now officially retired but spiritually immortal, trained an entire generation to interpret volume as value, calories as generosity, excess as reward. The children who grew up eating Happy Meals now bring their own children to eat Happy Meals, and the cycle completes itself with the self-satisfied efficiency of a perfectly calibrated machine designed to extract maximum profit from minimum nutritional content. The menu's architecture is a masterclass in making the worst choices feel like the obvious ones. Salads exist. They are on the menu. They are technically available. They are ordered by approximately no one, because they sit adjacent to the McFlurry and the large fries and the Double Quarter Pounder, and the human brain, already compromised by hunger and fluorescent lighting and the olfactory assault of frying oil, makes its calculations accordingly. The Environment: Designed for Defeat The physical experience of a McDonald's location is curated with the precision of a social experiment. The seating is intentionally uncomfortable -- hard, bright, relentlessly unwelcoming -- designed to accelerate consumption and accelerate departure. You are not meant to linger, reflect, or reconsider. You are meant to eat quickly, feel the first wave of salt-and-sugar satisfaction before the regret has time to organize itself into a coherent thought, and leave before the receipt has cooled. The smell -- that particular, proprietary blend of fried oil and industrial beef and synthetic vanilla -- has been so precisely engineered that it functions less as an aroma and more as a Pavlovian command. Grown adults with advanced degrees and fully developed frontal lobes have walked past a McDonald's with no intention of entering and emerged six minutes later holding a bag of something they did not need and will not enjoy remembering.
