    Watermelon burrata salad

On our last night in the Hudson Valley, I really wanted to enjoy dinner with a view--and this spot delivered. Tucked near the river, it was the perfect setting to wrap up our trip. The atmosphere was calm, breezy, and had that laid-back summer night feel that makes you want to linger just a little longer. Food: 4.5/5 We kicked off with a couple of appetizers, and honestly, I was pleasantly surprised. The pigs in a blanket were way more elevated than your average bar snack--wrapped well, seasoned with everything bagel spice, and super flavorful. A fun and unexpected highlight. The real star of the apps though? The watermelon and burrata salad. Juicy, fresh, light--it was the exact kind of dish you want on a summer night. Refreshing and satisfying all at once. For my entrée, I ordered the shrimp scampi but asked to add salmon for an extra protein boost (which they happily did). My husband got the seared tuna, and I'll admit--major food envy. His plate looked stunning and well-balanced, and he was thoroughly impressed. Service: 5/5 Everyone was so kind here. The staff checked in regularly, didn't rush us, and made sure we had what we needed without being overbearing. They also didn't blink when I asked to customize my entrée a bit, which I really appreciated. It made the whole meal feel even more relaxed and accommodating. Overall: A lovely spot to close out our trip. The food had thoughtful touches, the river view was peaceful, and the service was excellent. I'd definitely return--especially on a warm evening when you're craving something light, fresh, and a little special.

Such a great experience! The place was right by the train tracks in the water, and it was really cozy and intimate. Our waiter was such a kind guy and very attentive. For food we got the chicken pot pie (very hearty and delicious) and salmon (very good according to my fish loving gf). Cocktails were also amazing and reasonably priced. I think dessert was the best part. The bread pudding was SO GOOD and is easily shared between two people. Would highly recommend for a nice night out.

When Rhinebeck village is too busy to find a table, head down to Kip's Tavern in Rhinecliff. Excellent, friendly service. Great food! Birthday celebration with my daughter...aperol spritz, chicken pot pie and Kip's famous burger and fries!

Wow, an absolute GEM in rhinebeck. We were visiting rhinebeck for the fall foliage half marathon last weekend. Our airbnb was close to the restaurant and we decided to walk over for dinner. What a wonderful spot! Warm and cozy environment. The decor is lovely as well as the music. All of the wait staff is lovely. We had absolute fresh bread delivered to our table. I have had a LOT of bread in my life and this was just...one of the absolute best! We then shared a chicken pot pie, tagliatelle, and chicken cutlet. Everything was spiced to perfection. We liked this spot so much we returned for brunch the next day - another 10/10 experience! I had the pancakes and a mimosa to celebrate my run. Do not miss this hidden gem!!! Can't wait to go back!!!

Had a delicious dinner here tonight. We had a reservation at 730pm but we went early and they were able to seat us! Service is impeccable. We sat a wobbly table and ended up spilling our drinks all over ourselves. Our waiter Emmanuel and owner/manager Christopher immediately came over, moved us to another table and replaced our spilled drink. My husband had the chicken cutlet which he raved about and I had the chicken pot pie which was delicious! The crust was perfectly crispy. Thank you for a great meal!

If you are in the Rhinecliff, Rhinebeck, or the surrounding area, you must stop by Kips Tavern. The ambiance, the decor, the service, and the food were delicious. Absolutely outstanding. Definitely check it out when you're in town.

Easy access to the train in Rhinecliff.

We got lucky with beautiful weather and scored a table outside on the patio overlooking the river. We watched the beautiful sunset as we drank our Aperol Spritz's. We enjoyed pigs in a blanket and I had the salmon and my fellow diner had the chicken paillard. Both were flavorful and delicious as were the fries that we shared. The service was kind and attentive but not too fussy. The overall energy was really good both inside and out. I just wish they were open for dinner on Sunday so I could have enjoyed that before getting on the train. Will definitely return.

Prices are fair considering the quality and overall we need more places that are different and unique like this in the village. They have small cozy area for you to chill and enjoy your meal and the service is always quick and friendly. Many of the towns in the Hudson Valley have been revitalizing their downtown areas with great success but Catskill Village seems to be moving a lot slower compared to those other areas. The salad bar is one of those places that's helping it move forward.

The weather had been pretty mediocre throughout the day but that clearly hadn't stopped the tourists from invading the downtown area - the place was teeming with people when I came in around 3pmish. I didn't do a ton of research on potential eating spots (a lot of SE Asian eateries, which seemed kind of random?) but picked Lola's because it was a block or two from where I parked, and I immediately imprinted on the Short Rib Grilled Cheese when I saw it on the online menu. Decision made. Since it was starting to get a little nicer out, I would have liked a spot outside in the front patio. But the girl at the check-in (I feel like there's a much better term for that) asked me to go inside, which for sure was a bias against the fact that I was a solo diner. I get it in theory, but it's not fun to get treated like a second-class citizen because you don't have a posse with you in a tourist trap. Regardless, the interior was fine; looked like it had been redone within the last year or so; what it lacked in personality it made up for in terms of overall spiffiness (and the area where the personality DID come through was in the bathroom area, with tongue-in-check "Whatever" gender signs on the doors and edgy art by the sinks. Tell me you're a college town without telling me you're a college town.). The set-up in here is more casual than I assumed; I was told that my table was #10 (the numbers were clearly marked on each table, reminiscent of Smashburger), and that once I decided what I wanted, I needed to go up to the counter to order. Someone WOULD serve the food, but a big chunk of the experience is DIY. I ordered the aforementioned Short Rib Grilled Cheese w/ Fries, along with a Diet Pepsi, and waited. I thought this was pretty inefficient, as there were plenty of employees nearby who easily could have just taken my order at the table instead of having me sit down, then stand up and walk across the restaurant to order, and then sit back down. The wait was a little longer than I would have guessed, just given the straightforward order and casual, almost fast-food style to the business model; it took close to 20 minutes to get my sandwich, I'd guess. Not egregious, and there WERE a number of other customers on the premises as well. The Grilled Cheese was just okay - I tend to grade on a curve after a hike, but I thought it was really drippy/greasy, and I wasn't crazy about the tomato compote it came with (which is a personal palate preference and something that WAS specifically referenced on the menu and I didn't request its exclusion; easy to remove, regardless). The short ribs aspect was unsurprisingly the best part. The fries were decent; a little pale but cooked through. There was a pickle hidden underneath them that was a little emotionally upsetting but it is what it is. This was fine and could have been worse, but the next time I'm in town I'm going to keep walking down the street and trying one of the many other options nearby. The target demo for this feels a little more 2am college student than hungry hiker in the afternoon.

Amazing atmosphere, super welcoming, and the kind of place that instantly feels like a "why haven't I been here before?" spot. The service? 10/10. Everyone--from the owner/the sushi chef--was genuinely personable, attentive, and made us feel taken care of the entire night. The waiter Salmon, was amazing 10/10. Not trying to be funny not sure if he spells it that way but he was amazing!! And the food... WOW. The Toro? Unreal. Melt-in-your-mouth, life-questioning levels of good.
