An old fashioned - wrong liquor substituted, but still very tasty
    Bill Z.

This is, in my opinion, one of the better chain restaurants in the Northeast at least in terms of consistency, and that was certainly true here. Dinner was enjoyable, and our server was very friendly and professional. We started with cocktails - old fashioneds, but we were informed that they were out of their bourbon, and we were given a choice of Jack Daniels or Fireball. We opted for the Jack Daniels, but it was very obvious from the taste that we got Fireball instead. But I found I liked the taste of it that way very much, so I was not at all upset with the the unexpected substitution. We ordered 2 steaks, one a 12oz NY Strip, and the other a 6oz in a combination. I ordered the 12oz medium well, and the 6oz was ordered medium. They both came out medium well, but still both were reasonably tender and juicy. I liked the seasoning on mine. The broccoli I ordered as a side was also slightly seasoned, i.e., slightly salty; I'm not used to that. It wasn't excessive nor did it ruin the taste, it was just unexpected. So yeah, a couple of things were off, but overall it was still a good experience, and I'd certainly come back here. It seems to be a lot easier to get seated here than at the one on the south side of Poughkeepsie.

Friendly staff and a beautiful lodge environment. Upon entry, there is steak in the glass fridge display that you can personally choose. The mozzarella appetizer was unique and yummy. I wished they could give more marinara sauce. Both steaks were delicious and huge. They do not trim the fat, it is exactly as you chose it. We paid extra for mushroom, onions, and the gravy sauce. Very worth it. The steak entrees come with two sides. The sides were on the smaller side. I chose the seasoned rice and chili. The seasoned rice was flavorful and cooked well. The chili was warm and a little spicy. We also got Cesar salad and loaded mash potato. The loaded part was extra but worth it. I will come back! Only issue- heating in the restaurant is poor. Many cold spots and many tables asked to change seats. They said they have a heating issue.

Had an amazing experience at roadhouse. It was our first time there. When we got there, there was a small wait time but we added ourselves to the list and got a text as soon as our table was ready. All of the staff were so friendly--from the host, to the waitress and the manager. Abbie was our waitress and she was amazing! We loved her. She gave us recommendations and was very attentive during our time there. The manager, Victoria, also came over to check on us and welcome us after finding out it was our first time. I thought that was very sweet. That has never happened to us before. Then the food came and we were very satisfied! Everything was delicious. They have complimentary bread that they bake fresh at the restaurant and it was delicious! Soo fresh. We had salmon and ribs with some sides and everything was great. Their loaded sweet potatoes look delicious but I was trying to be good so I had it plain and it was still so good! Definitely recommend.

We enjoyed the Figgy chicken sandwich (fig jam, plentiful greens, cheese and chicken, bun could have been better quality) with salad (pretty fresh), and the Caesar chicken sandwich with fries. The server (owner?) was very friendly and explained the menu, saying specifically that the chicken sandwiches are made to order. There were only two other occupied tables on a Saturday afternoon and the food took a little while to come out (not very bad but not super fast). It also seems like a place that should be crowded but wasn't. Coffee was self service. They also had a pumpkin pie in a plastic container (didn't look homemade) in the front. There's a little children's play area in the back. And the unisex bathroom was very large. It's located on a street with lots of shops and other eateries (pizza etc).

Our waitress was very nice, really chill, checked in once but if we had flagged her over I'm sure she would have been attentive more but we just didn't need anything. We ordered two different versions of their chicken sandwiches and they both were amazing! I ordered the club and substituted out for the Big Mac sauce, it was ridiculously delicious! The owner/chef I believe came over after our food was served which was really nice to check in and offered some future suggestions that we'll be sure to take her up on. The food was cooked to order, super fresh and a lot of details that made it a perfect bite! Cute place with a variety of seating options, the old brick work pops through in some places which adds a really nice historic charm to the place. We'll definitely be back to give a few more menu items a try!

This whole time, I really thought this place was inside a cozy hotel about 2 blocks over. Guess you learn something new every day. We pulled up on a Thurs. around 4 with no res. and got seated real quick. Restaurant K. is airy, chic and gives a relaxed vibe. The menu is on the smaller side, but honestly, there's something for every eating style. We kept things light instead of diving into something heavy. Our spring greens salad was really good: hefty mound of mixed greens, lima beans, string beans and a hint of dill to make everything pop. Hubs had the double-stacked burger with white cheddar on a potato bun and loved it. I had high hopes for the hush puppies because they sounded amazing on paper- but they were doughy than corny and threw me off. Then came dessert. Again- sounded great on paper. It kinda feels like desserts get a "reinvented" treatment here(?). For instance, the strawberry shortcake was deconstructed: a few chunks of white cake, some diced strawberries and whipped cream. Totally unexpected. I ordered the 'Fun-Fetti Dunkaroos' with madeleines because they caught my eye, but they're smaller than standard. The food isn't bad at all. We were just caught off guard by how some of our selections were prepped. What really saved the evening were the cocktails. They were beautifully made and had a lot of strength. No watered-down nonsense here! Plus, our server Karina(?) was super sweet. I asked if I could try the passion fruit purée to see if it was the real deal for one of the cocktails I ordered and she brought me a little sample. Passed the test!

Our trusty Yelp app led us to this historic building and restaurant. I'm really glad we came to see some truly great architecture and learn some cool history of life before these United States. Even though the British tried to burn it down during the Revolutionary War, the family restored it to previous glory and it remained in their possession for over 200 more years! Now let's talk about the restaurant experience.... We were seated immediately and given a choice of indoor or covered outdoor seating. Laura came to get a drink order and offered some kids specials. She also put in our daughter's order right away so that she would be occupied and well fed. A chicken quesadilla with fries won her over and filled her up nicely. A bowl of New England clam chowder to start for me followed by a delicious Mushroom Omelette special. So fresh and tasty. The Mad Ukrainian ( formally MR or Mad Russian until the war broke out) had a delicious Reuben Sandwich with fries and a Garden Salad. After the salad and a half sandwich, she decided to save some room for dessert at another place nearby. Pair that up with a couple of local Beers and some soft drinks and coffee and we had an enjoyable lunch. Pricing is excellent compared to home prices and we ate with leftovers, drank, and got a historical glimpse back in time for less than $70. Home run in my book!

It's located on such a charming street, and stepping inside felt like walking into an elevated Barnes & Noble straight out of a Harry Potter movie. I wasn't sure what to order, so the barista recommended a drink and was incredibly accommodating with my many requests. I can't have too much milk or syrup, so I basically gave them a complicated custom order, and they made it exactly to my liking without hesitation. I also ended up buying one of the chocolate bars they had at the counter and turns out it was $20!!!! As a tourist, I had no idea it was a well known local chocolate brand with a factory nearby, so that was a fun surprise. This is the kind of place that makes you want to slow down. I'd love to come back, grab a coffee, spend the entire afternoon reading, and just soak in the comforting smell of books and fresh coffee. Such a cozy, magical spot that's well worth visiting!
