Steaks are better than crazy expensive restaurants in the area. They will not let you sit in the bar area tables because "no servers" even though lots of empty tables there. Add some servers & make your customers happy. read more

We came just for a nice family dinner and we ordered steak ribs and drinks the steak was medium rare and tasted completely off we spent almost 200.00 and gave our waitress Sara a $20.00 she was not happy she gave a attitude a bit . The menu has old prices like from a year or 2 even but when you order they trick you into thinking that the menu is cheap and it's double as ever . LEAVE THE ROLLS; TAKE THE CINNAMON BUTTER. Honestly, ditch the rolls, TR. Being chewed, they turn quickly to the consistency of past-the-use-date chewing gum. Bad way to start off a meal--like I'm doing with this review, as we think TR is a perfectly okay value, and a not-unpleasant visit during slow hours. Too noisy when busy, though. Hint: the music. The meal was good, no complaint but for the rolls. Service was great (shout out to Margo!) (Visited 1-2PM 11/3/24) But before we met Margo, there was some quiet unrest among the staff regarding our request for a specific booth (we are still Covid-cautious and like to be away from foot traffic.) The waitperson who was to seat us needed to consult management over this, while the house was 3/4 empty. It took three people to resolve. No one made us feel ill at ease and we were soon seated, but customers should not have to see this; it should be handled beyond our view. This is, in my opinion, one of the better chain restaurants in the Northeast at least in terms of consistency, and that was certainly true here. Dinner was enjoyable, and our server was very friendly and professional. We started with cocktails - old fashioneds, but we were informed that they were out of their bourbon, and we were given a choice of Jack Daniels or Fireball. We opted for the Jack Daniels, but it was very obvious from the taste that we got Fireball instead. But I found I liked the taste of it that way very much, so I was not at all upset with the the unexpected substitution. We ordered 2 steaks, one a 12oz NY Strip, and the other a 6oz in a combination. I ordered the 12oz medium well, and the 6oz was ordered medium. They both came out medium well, but still both were reasonably tender and juicy. I liked the seasoning on mine. The broccoli I ordered as a side was also slightly seasoned, i.e., slightly salty; I'm not used to that. It wasn't excessive nor did it ruin the taste, it was just unexpected. So yeah, a couple of things were off, but overall it was still a good experience, and I'd certainly come back here. Friendly staff and a beautiful lodge environment. Upon entry, there is steak in the glass fridge display that you can personally choose. The mozzarella appetizer was unique and yummy. I wished they could give more marinara sauce. Both steaks were delicious and huge. They do not trim the fat, it is exactly as you chose it. We paid extra for mushroom, onions, and the gravy sauce. Very worth it. The steak entrees come with two sides. The sides were on the smaller side. I chose the seasoned rice and chili. The seasoned rice was flavorful and cooked well. The chili was warm and a little spicy. We also got Cesar salad and loaded mash potato. The loaded part was extra but worth it. I will come back! Only issue- heating in the restaurant is poor. Many cold spots and many tables asked to change seats. They said they have a heating issue. read more

i typically don't write reviews but this genuinely shook me to my core. my best friend got a take out Caesar salad from here, took it home and as she was eating it she found a hair..she then placed the hair and the piece of "lettuce" that was attached to it on the counter..come to find out the piece of "lettuce" was the head of a chopped up GRASSHOPPER. A FREAKING GRASSHOPPER. i'm so shook and disturbed that that was sold to someone. i usually love Texas Roadhouse but i don't know if i will return..my phobia of bugs is way too strong to go somewhere where my best friend took out food and found a bug in it. if any worker that's in the kitchen is reading this please pay more attention to the food your serving. thank you. read more

The food is affordable and made well. The music is appalling and way too loud. I would rather not listen to any music when I am trying to enjoy a good dinner. I hate country music. It was our first time. My son really wanted to try this chain restaurant. I was a bit skeptical, however, it was decent. So let's start with the good. I ordered a larger portion steak since I was sharing with my little boy. It was quite tasty and cooked medium, my preference. The baked potato was just as one would expect. It hit the spot. I didn't get it loaded, just sour cream and butter. I also ordered the fresh veggies side. It was quite nice. Broccoli was cooked perfectly. Carrots were a little too firm. But overall I was pleased. My niece got the ribeye and she was happy with her meal. We did order the rattlesnake bites for an appetizer and it was pretty awful. Super greasy and a gooey mess. There wasn't much of a coating around the deep fried cheese ball. I definitely would not recommend. I was also disappointed by the bread. Online reviews, especially on YouTube always rave about the warm bread, but it didn't really do anything for me. And I personally do not like fake whipped butter. I did ask for real butter. The bread basket was over hyped. No biggie, it's better for me not to load on empty carb calories, however, I do love fresh bread and so... bummer. Service was good. The place was huge and clean. We did have a short wait since we didn't have a reservation. I think they didn't have enough staff for the weekend lunch crowd. It's wasn't crowded at all. No biggie. My biggest issue was the display case of the steaks. All the meat on display were all shockingly completely red, obviously pumped with red dye. It was over the top unnecessary and it made me cringe to even look at it. I only said yes to trying this place out cuz of my kiddo. I would have walked out but since my son was looking forward to eating at this establishment, I had to force myself to stay. Had an amazing experience at roadhouse. It was our first time there. When we got there, there was a small wait time but we added ourselves to the list and got a text as soon as our table was ready. All of the staff were so friendly--from the host, to the waitress and the manager. Abbie was our waitress and she was amazing! We loved her. She gave us recommendations and was very attentive during our time there. The manager, Victoria, also came over to check on us and welcome us after finding out it was our first time. I thought that was very sweet. That has never happened to us before. Then the food came and we were very satisfied! Everything was delicious. They have complimentary bread that they bake fresh at the restaurant and it was delicious! Soo fresh. We had salmon and ribs with some sides and everything was great. Their loaded sweet potatoes look delicious but I was trying to be good so I had it plain and it was still so good! Definitely recommend. read more

It's your typical chain sit down restaurant. This one happens to specialize as a steakhouse. If you got a peanut allergy, you're definitely not coming to any one of these locations as they serve peanuts to everyone like you're served bread at an Italian restaurant. During the pandemic, it seems as they stopped giving peanuts out so maybe you can finally try one of these spots out. One of my favorite things is their flavored butter they serve with the complementary bread. It's the equivalent to those Red Lobster's Cheddar Bay Biscuits, addicting as hell. Luckily, they're still giving those out when you dine in. The service is a bit slow. This is due to a combination of being understaffed and the staff members are mainly what appears to be high school or college students. The inexperience shows as well as there were little things that could be done such as removing empty plates and cups. Food just kept coming out and kept taking up more table real estate. The food itself meets expectation. It's filling, no complaints on the quality, it is what you can expect from a national chain restaurant. Other comments: if you plan on coming, it would be wise to get a reservation due to said understaffing, so they're not filling every booth because of that. On this occasion, I came in with a party of 6 and it was a 20 minute wait. I guess you can study the menu and pick out what you want during that time if you decide to just walk in. read more

Texas Roadhouse is the one place you can count on for consistently great food, excellent service and a convivial atmosphere!! I had a steak with a sweet potato and mashed potato's with gravy! My husband had the Fried Fish with a salad and baked potato! Everything was absolutely delicious!! I don't know how they do it but the sweet and baked potato's are cooked perfectly!! As longstanding customers of Texas Roadhouse in Kingston, I wanted to address a deeply disturbing incident that unfolded during our visit 7/18/23 Despite calling to check they would serve us for a party of 11 around 9:15 PM, we encountered a disconcerting situation upon arrival. An apparent debate among a male employee and certain female staff members at the front raised doubts as to whether we would be granted a table, despite confirming on the phone beforehand. Once begrudgingly seated, our misfortune continued with a series of regrettable occurrences. While our orders were taken by a pleasant waitress, the resulting dishes were with missing items. Disturbingly, as we began consuming our meals, an alarming taste was in the vegetables and various parts of the kebab, leaving an undeniable taste of poison and burning coursing through my mouth. I have ordered this many times and never had this happen. I needed confirmation that this was not just me having this concerning burning, i asked my sister, who too experienced the distressing burning and poison taste from just tasting one of the vegetables. As a matter of utmost concern, we alerted the waitress, who brought the manager to address the issue. Regrettably, instead of addressing our valid concerns with the professionalism and respect befitting her position, the manager displayed a truly shocking demeanor that bordered on gaslighting and outright dismissal of our legitimate concerns. My attempt to explain our longstanding patronage and the absence of any prior similar incidents fell on deaf ears, as the manager persisted in portraying me as a dishonest individual. At this point I am extremely displeased with the ongoing gaslighting. It is abundantly clear that she refuses to acknowledge or validate the concern, repeatedly dismissing it. Our proposal to contact the corporate office and send the food to a toxicologist to rectify this disheartening experience elicited a sudden change in the manager's approach. However, her eagerness to swiftly dispose of the questionable food only heightened our suspicion and anxiety regarding its contents. I have valid concerns about the safety and integrity of the food consumed at this establishment. The manner in which we were treated throughout this unfortunate episode was nothing short of appalling. This matter necessitates immediate attention by the corporate office. I am shocked by tonight's events and hope due consideration will be taken for quality customer service and uphold the the standards of safety and hospitality. read more

This past time I went the waitress could barely be bothered to check up on the table, the food came out cold, they couldn't figure out the difference between rare and medium. Omg, worst experience ever! Went there for a party. Called ahead and there was a no wait. Arrived at 6 pm, but they had no waiter for us. So we waited... at some point they told us they were ready to seat us, but the hosts were so preoccupied with themselves that they seated a large party that came after us, instead. We pointed out that they actually came in much later, but the hosts seemed incompetent to do something about it. So that party got our table... then they offered to seat us at two separate tables! We were a large party, and didn't want to be seated at two different tables. It took them quite a while to finally push some tables together to seat us. They took the drink menu pretty quickly. However, the drinks did not arrive until an hour in. They had a problem with a beverage and kept us waiting instead offering an alternative. They took the appetizers and they came, but after we finished the appetizers, there was no service. We were done with appetizers, no one took the dinner order or brought us more beverages. This was at 7:30. One of us had to finally get up to bring their glass to the front to get a drink after the waiter kept forgetting the order. So after a long time they finally took the entree orders. After that, they did not clear the dishes and had to be reminded several times to clear the dishes. They did not. Finally we cleared our own dishes and put them onto another table. 9pm! In the meantime they took coffee orders, but only for half of the table and brought three coffees without sugar or cream while the entree dishes were still on the table. We pointed out that more people would like coffee, but it took them forever even to get sugar. Over three hours to finish the meals!!!By the time we left, we were so exhausted and mad. At 9:20 pm!!! The waiter is not to blame, but the manger who train them. The waiter had no idea of even the basic of serving. Inexcusable!. read more

I generally don't live chain restaurants, but sometimes they are just what you need. Wifey and I were up in Kingston a few weeks ago and needed a quick bite to eat. Since this place was near our hotel it was an easy decision. We were seated at the bar (our choice) and Wifey ordered a Sam's Octoberfest, a favorite of mine (I can't drink right now so SOMEONE should be able to enjoy good beer). I loved that they had peanuts at the bar and buckets for the shells-nice touch. Wifey ordered the shrimp appetizer and I got a bacon, mushroom and grilled onion topped burger with fries (no bun because of this damn diet my doc has me on). Both of us enjoyed our meals and I was glad to be able to find something I could eat here. I've eaten at another Texas Roadhouse before (in VA) and the food is pretty good. Our bartender at this location was awesome and seemed to know the regulars. Menu was pretty broad, place was clean and the service was good. Not a bad place to hangout read more

This place is going downhill really fast. I came in here tonight again - but this time actually re-trying the dine-in options, and was rather unimpressed with their newest - given the conditions of the pandemic in the area. They still sit people back to back, but this time I noticed the glass divider between myself and those in the back of our booth. But that's when I noticed they were gathering a set of large table booths next to each other (only three feet away) from a bunch of servicemen (which I'd like to thank for their service if they are reading this). But that's when the troubles started. A moment or two later it took the waitress to come over and take drink orders. We gave them some simple drinks (nothing past sodas and iced teas), but it took them forever to make and serve them. Although I wasn't watching the time, it felt like it took them at least 15 minutes to make and serve, and even my brother (who's been "Impatient Sam lately") was complaining. When the drinks came out, things just took a while. My mother's Diet Coke never came, but they apologized saying the nozzles for that weren't working right (when my Sprite was fine), but my brother ordered tea and came to his liking. We waited so long that we thought they had forgotten us, but it took quite some time, and out came food at least 45 minutes to an hour later. The food was good otherwise, I can't complain. But service stunk! The menu described the BBQ Chicken sandwich as being served on Texas Toast (and I didn't mind the switch to the round roll) but at least keep your menu up-to-date if you are going to make the switch. I really didn't like the fact that they no longer have peanuts at any of the tables, and they really didn't give many buttered buns (or honey cinnamon butter) at the tables without them asking if we wanted more. Price was well below what I was anticipating - at an estimated amount of $15/person by several dollars for three adults (no kids). I was really having a rough time trying to decide what delivery service would deliver food (that I hadn't tried yet) to Red Hook across the river (and I'm still unsatisfied that Uber hasn't picked up delivery from this location when Red Lobster across the street is delivering to my home address in Red Hook). Good food, just getting worse service-wise. I really don't like giving you a three-star, but it's the best rating IMHO for this experience. read more

Don't bother coming here with your family and expecting to get a military discount on your check. They now only give military discounts for the one person who has a military ID card not the entire check. I had the ribs they were pretty good but definitely not better than another restaurants and my wife and I shared a plate, so for dinner that was still over $100 including tip. Thee waitress did a pretty good job, no more or no less than any other waitress, and the atmosphere is what you would expect inside a Texas Roadhouse restaurant. But I'm really bothered by the military discount no longer appling to the whole check. I think they're going to be losing a lot of customers over this. Being petty, in what amounts to about 3 or 4 extra dollars, is going to cost them a lot of money in lost customers. I don't think I will be coming back here. read more

I stumbled upon this restaurant when the family and I were shopping nearby. The parking lot was packed when we arrived so I was afraid we would have a long wait. To my surprise we were seated right away WITH our warm buns and sweet butter - excellent idea!! Our waitress Soni was very friendly and always around when needed. My daughter happened to say HI I her about 100 times and Soni was playful back (brownie points!) I'm not a peanut lover (hubby is) ... We enjoyed the peanut bucket at the table. I ordered the USDA 6 oz steak smothered in onions and mushrooms (med rare) with a loaded sweet potato. It was yummy. Overall this is one of the best chain restaurants I've ever been in. read more

Peanuts served table-side. Food is freshly prepared on-site. This includes sauces, rolls, appetizers. Ribs are prepared for 3 days. Nice ambiance, Americana feel to it. Country music plays. I had the steak and ribs combo. Food was prepared well. Only open for lunch on the weekends. read more

It's a very popular restaurant, and it's easy to see why. The food is very good. The bread was soft and warm, and you get as much as you please. It comes with a sweet butter that makes it all that much better. The "cactus" made of breaded onions was good for sharing and better than the 'Outback' version. As for the meats, they are very juicy and cooked to our liking. However, in order to actually enter the restaurant, there might be a long wait sometimes. Highly disappointed. I used to work at Texas Roadhouse, and a standard is to make sure everyone gets great service. It was slow when we came in, people continually sat after us, and we watched as they all got bread. After our entire meal, and asking multiple times, we still received no bread. It was about 9 o'clock, when they close at 9:30, when we asked a final time and were met with "I don't think they are making anymore." Really disappointed because that's the one thing we go for.
