Buona is a cute little coffee shop that definitely has a very quiet and chill vibe! One of my good friends had recommended I come here to try their Affogato because she was obsessed with it and I have to say it was delicious! It's basically vanilla ice cream with a shot of espresso served over it. It's bitter and sweet at the same time and a must try! I also really like their flavored lattes. Great pour over coffee, but the food is rather lacking. Had the pimento cheese sandwich and...meh....definitely go for the coffee, though! Quiche is good, scones are good too. Best place to buy espresso beans, we typically buy a pound every month The space is a little on the tight side, but doable if you just wanna study. Make sure you have some earplugs though! Also, cider is on the menu, but it is only a seasonal item, FYI for year round cider fans. Southern Sunset is my favorite drink there especially if I have a lot of work to tackle that day. Staff is great with the exception of the shorter, stouter guy with beard. Not terribly pleasant and will often be rude to non-Caucasian customers. Yes! Yes! Yes! We had an overnight stay in Augusta after watching the eclipse. We yelped a few coffee shops and thought we'd give buona a try...and what a good call! First off, the smell of roasting coffee was so enticing. We walk in and are greeted by one of the best baristas we've encountered on our travels, Carston. He was friendly, lovely to chat with, knowledgeable and made one of the best lattes we've ever had. Really good food, too, especially the cinnamon buns and the panini. The employees are just great people too. Oh man, it was good stuff. If you love coffee, or espresso, this is the place for you. My husband got one of those fancy schmancy lattes in the small cups with the cream on top, and I got to try his affogato, which is a scoop of vanilla ice cream with a shot of espresso on top. Also tried their Southern Sunset - one shot of espresso mixed with cream, and a cinnamon latte (very good). We also tried their cookies (with chocolate and toffee), and their almond marzipan (which was more of a blondie brownie - but still so very delicious). Oh man, I shouldn't have had that much coffee. It's all good though, it was fantastic. Our friend had a large espresso-packed drink, and an affogato, and one of their hot onion quiches, which he liked very much. Bravo to the people running this place. There's just enough variety to satisfy any true coffee snob's desires, but not so much that making a decision is difficult or overwhelming - which makes it easier on them as well~. Just lovely. I came here with my boyfriend and reading many reviews from other Yelpers, I had to check this place out. Located right across from Crums, it is quite a cozy coffee shop with a good view in the front. The concept of this place is rarely found in Augusta but I'm glad it's starting here finally. Pour over coffee tastes way better than traditional brewed coffee using a coffee machine. The wait is a bit longer however the taste are differently better. For all the coffee snobs, this is a place for you to check out. There is a special every day and you can't go wrong with that. You can purchase a bag of their roasted coffee, pastries, and enjoy it back home if you like. However, if you like to hang around, there is free WIFI and plenty of tables to lounge around. The other nice thing is that you can also get tea here. Not the packets you buy from the store, but it's the type of tea you can brew just like coffee. Loose leaf, I believe. When I come back into town, I'd try that out. Prices are reasonable and if you don't like the bitter taste of coffee, there are cream and sugar available on the side. read more

They really put the art in artisan coffee. Seeing the barista warming the cup and making my order somehow reminded me of the tea ceremonies commonly observed in east Asia. I arrived there around 7:20 am on a weekday, ordered the daily special and waited roughly 3 minutes for mine. Once I sat down, the morning crowd began to arrive and a line of 5-6 people started forming. The coffee is definitely worth the wait though. I am not a coffee snob and don't drink coffee that often, but it is one of the best coffees I've had. They offer a punch card and you get a free cup of coffee for every nine purchases of coffee or espresso drinks. Mondays are double punch days. Tuesdays are $3 latte days. I'm sure this will be the first punch card I actually remember to carry in my wallet and use up. :) read more

Finally had a chance to go check this place out and I totally loved it. The atmosphere was chill and very laid back, I was impressed with the selection of coffee and pastries. I tried an Arogato which is just a shot of espresso over a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was soooooo good and creamy. I also tried the Costa Rican dark roast and it was so flavorful I didn't even need any creamer (and I am a creamer type of chick.) Last but not least I tried a piece of lemon pound cake and it was AMAZING! They don't make it in house, but so what it was effin awesome. This is the place I go to when I want to introduce someone to real coffee. The beans are roasted on site. I can only speak on the plain cup of joe. I have not tried the latte's or espresso's etc. The pastry choices cost more than average but they are bigger than what I would get at other coffee houses. I stumbled upon this coffee shop while driving around and I am so thankful I did. From the outside it looks like a small house, but when you walk inside you will be surprised by how many small tables they have to sit at. This place may be a new favourite hangout. I wish I could appreciate coffee, because theirs seems to be really choice. That withstanding, I opted for a hot apple cider and then a chai latte, both of which hit the spot. Also had a morning glory muffin, which- despite having coconut in it- was purty darn tasty. As for the space, it's a converted bungalow house, so the side room (with about 7 tables) was probably once a dining room. Didn't use the WiFi, but they at least offer it. I stayed until close to closing time and never felt rushed by the staff to finish my beverage and conversation and GTFO. They also offer a 'punch card'- with double punches on Mondays and $3 lattes on Tuesdays.
