DON'T EVER GO THERE FOR BRUNCH!!!!!!! My boyfriend and I went there for Brunch and it was terrible!!!! Cold eggs, cold waffles, the person making the omelettes didn't know what he was doing and not many options. We were seated quickly and were told they would bring coffee and take our drink orders. We ordered a Bloody Mary which was so watered down, no wonder it was a $3 special, and my boyfriend ordered a Mimosa. I had to ask after 15 minutes for the coffee, Bloody Mary and Mimosa, no apologies!!! Options for dessert were awful!! Eggs benedict looked disgusting! Then we get the bill and they automatically added on gratuity for 2 people! I approached the hostess and she gave me an attitude and said it automatically prints on the receipt but it's optional. They probably do that because some people won't question it, as I can see from other reviews. I was looking at this place for my parents Anniversary party, but hell no!! I dined here on Sunday afternoon with 5 other people in my family- my 3 kids, husband, and my mother-in-law. I've always passed this restaurant and heard good things about it, so we decided to try it out. Based on the online reviews, I though it would be average experience. We were all hungry and this place was open and close by. From the outside and the inside decor, it looks beautiful. But the place was empty. There were two other groups when we arrived. We were seated and were promptly given water. I noticed a dark speck in my glass as the waiter Antonio was filling my daughter's glass. Upon inspection I saw that it was a fruit fly. I asked for another glass of water and the waiter seemed a little aloof. He didn't ask if something was the matter. He just left with the glass and came back with another glass with water. No apologies or sincerity. All of the adults ordered the mushroom risotto, while the kids ordered off the kids' menu. Antonio took our order but was never warm or welcoming. He didn't suggest anything or tell us the specials that I heard him tell another group on diners. The food took a bit of time to come out, but they offered us a bread basket. When the food came out, I was surprised with how small the adult portions were. When I tasted my dish, I felt that it was watery and not the creamy texture you'd expect from well-made risotto. It lacked flavor, but since I was hungry, I ate more than half of my dish. My husband and MIL ate very little, and felt the same way I did. My kids loved the fries (which was probably a bag of precut and frozen potatoes purchased wholesale) and ate some of their food. The prices were fairly high for what we were given. The kids' meals were $11 each, and it came with a drink and one tiny scoop of ice cream (chocolate or vanilla). Out final bill was about $100. We didn't order any extra drinks. Based on the horrible service from a waiter who seemed to not want to be there, the high prices, sub-par food, and fruit fly incident, I strongly suggest you skip this place and try anything else! I made a reservation for my mother's 70th birthday party at Buona Via. I was told there would be a party going on downstiars, so my party of eight would be seated upstairs. I was fine with that, but I made sure to inquire about the dessert cart. They told me that although they can't lug the three tiered contraption up the stairs, we would be presented with THREE trays of desserts to chose from. I was assured that each selection that was on the cart would be on one of the trays. If this were not the case, I would never have made the reservation. We arrived for dinner and the wait staff had many noisy and contentious "discussions" right outside the dining room. The vibe was not great. There was obviously a lot of chaos due to the large party downstairs. Once the food arrived, we were all happy with our meals. I was a little concerned, however, when I saw a waiter walk by with ONE dessert tray. So I quietly pulled our waitress aside and explained what I was promised on the phone. She insisted that the one tray included all of the desserts on the cart. I asked to speak with the manager. She told me the same thing. Then came dessert. We were presented with one tray. There was no tiramisu, no italian rum cake and no chocolate cake of any kind. I was not happy at all. I asked to speak with the manager again. Instead of the manager, the owner came to our table. I walked outside the dining room so I wouldn't disrupt our family celebration or any of the other diners. I calmly explained for a THIRD time what I was promised on the phone. The owner, Sal, was very defensive, and condescending and downright rude. He assured me that all the desserts were on the tray, and I informed him that I knew better. I asked him where the chocolate cake was, were the rum cake was, and where the tiramisu was. He finally admitted that not all of the desserts from the cart were on the tray. I was livid and asked him to bring a larger selection. I returned to the dining room. He followed me back to my seat and commanded me to "relax." I told him to go away. He told me to pay the bill and leave. I was stunned. Not only was he providing incredibly wretched customer service, he was now bullying me in front of my guests. I have no words for his behavior. We were all appalled. I used to frequent this restaurant on a regular basis, and I will never step foot in it again. Where do I begin?? The best part about this place is the outside! The exterior is very nice, authentic Italian looking unlike the inside. There is a bar to the left, a huge staircase in the center and then the dining area is on the right. It looks like a banquet hall. We stood at the entrance and waited at least 5 minutes before our party was even greeted and seated as there was no one to greet you at the entrance. Then, our large party of 11 was seated by the rudest, most inattentive waitstaff I've ever experienced. They are miserable, they do not introduce themselves nor do the tell you the specials or ask you if you've ever been there before which none of us have. We had no idea how to order, or what was included because there is a buffet style option which nobody told us about. The drinks: alcoholic per my husband were watered down. The wine was very young and bitter. Nonalcoholic: my lemonade tasted like it was old and watered down, my sisters iced tea was the same and the sodas were all flat. Two of us sent our drinks back. I've never done that in my life! The waitstaff stand around and just come to the tables randomly, like we are in a buffet hall, and nobody has a name tag so good luck getting their attention. The place looked deserted on a Sunday evening. Red flag. The menu is full of seafood, which I don't eat, and ridiculously overpriced food for the quality. I know Italian food. My father is from Italy. This is not Italian food. It is bland, no spices, no garlic used, minimal sauce that tasted rancid. I refused to order because I'm pregnant and I was not willing to spend $30 a plate for that quality of food and get ill! I would've rather hit a drive though Wendy's on the way home. I drank water and ate bread that we had to remind the waiter for because usually that's the first think waiting for you when you sit. Not the case. 4/11 people I was with left saying they needed to "run to the bathroom". My husband who ordered buffet style and btw eats everything and said the food was terrible, felt nauseous all night. He ended vomiting in the morning violently. I'm not sure if it's related but I wouldn't be surprised. My sister got an undercooked, bitter tasting and small plate of penne vodka that cost $18!! Safest thing to eat I suppose. It's not even enough to fill a grown man for that price. Where do they think they are? Center city! What a waste of a travel (30 minutes from Philadelphia) and a bad birthday dinner experience for my poor sisters. I'm shocked people can stomach this food/service, especially in an area like this. Also forgot to mention, they were unable to split our check, they charged us for three drinks we didn't order, and they add gratuity which is good for them because they honestly don't deserve a dime extra for their "service" if that's what you call it. read more

Went there for Easter brunch, the food was sub par. For 21.95 per person I surely expected a lot more. First things first, the French toast was burnt, black burnt. Second, the home fries were potato chips. I've never heard of home fries being potato chips. Third, I think they forgot the alcohol in my mimosa. The brunch selection was outstanding, and even though the restaraunt was packed we didn't have to wait for food at all. The staff was pleasant and helpful. I cannot wait to go back. We were big fans of the old Drafting Room (springhouse) sunday brunches and have been looking for a replacement everysince. This will now be our new holiday and brunch spot. Word of warning to those at happy hour, check your bill! I have been at happy hour several times with a girlfriend and they added her drinks onto my account without asking me. My wife and I passed by this location numerous times without a thought of whether we were going to drop by and have a bite; but every so often we like to explore new places. We usually go into the city since that is usually where all the hot new places are. But we have found a new place and it is in Hatboro. I went in with an open mind and I am glad to say I found quite a gem. I rated this place with 4 stars but actually it may very well be a 5 star restaurant, but this was our first visit so I think 4 is good enough. I started off with my customary Long Island Iced tea and my wife had the red wine sangria, both were very tasty. We ordered the house salads which were great as well. I then ordered the Vitello Caprese, which is sauteed veal, tomatoes and buffalo mozerella which was cooked to perfection with a side of potatoes and spinach. FINGER LICKING good. My wife ordered the Orrechiette con Rapini e Gamberoni which was a nice pasta dish. For dessert we split a berry tart concoction which was wonderful. I originally rated this place 4 stars but after recounting how good it was I flipped it to 5. This place is hands down the best Italian restaurant I have ever been too. Score a big one for Hatboro. We each order a bottled beer which was placed down on our table with glasses left for us to pour. I had heard since wonderful things about this place but never had gone until I bought a Living Social coupon. Maybe me not going was sign not to because I should not of! It was extremely loud when entering, then greeted by a very rude hostess so it did not start off good. Everything is al a carte, nothing included and for those prices I think atleast a salad should be included. Our app was Bruschetta, nothing special, actually had to add Olive Oil to it to make it a bit more moist. My Ceasar Salad was good and my husbands House Salad was very plain, just lettuce! Our entrees were Risotta, which was good but not worth the money at all, and a Garlice/ Tomatoe Pasta dish which was just ok, nothing more then some tomatoes chopped up with some garlic and olive oil. The Waitress was rude, never checked on us and when she did come back after our entrees were done she didn't refill our drinks or ask if we were ok, nothing! Off to dessert, I ordered a Italian Rum Cake which was stale, horrible, whipped cream was hard, just horrible! My husband ordered a slice of Chocolate Cake which was dry and seemed old. Overall not a good experience and will not go back. Today 4/2017 I've changed my 4 star review to a 1 star! Hadn't been there in 3 years. My family of 12 went for Easter Brunch and it was Terrible. We used to frequent this restaurant often and it was Great. No longer the case. Service was bad, pasta was so over cooked, horribe variety of food, omelette guy coudn't make one correctly...it looked more like scrambled eggs...lol. Seriously? I wanted to tell everyone about this place. I have been here for dinner and it was wonderful, however, on Sunday, I had a bridal shower brunch for 40 people and it was beyond my wildest dreams. The food was wonderful and the variety of foods was exceptional. My guests raved about the choices they had and many of them said it was the best shower they have ever been to. We not only had breakfast foods but lunch foods also. I was so pleased I picked Buona Via for this affair. The service was excellent and very accommodating. Let me start by saying the food is very good but my family"s experience with the owner was horrendous. He is a very insensitive man. The handicap ramp was blocked by a table and chairs. My mother had to take a dangerous route to get in the entrance. When she approached it she banged her head on a hanging lamp. Instead of the owner being compassionate about this he showed extreme rudeness and arrogance. He kicked the chair out of the way when told about it blocking the route. When I told him someone was sitting in the chair, his response was, "You should have just told him to get up and move." I really need to start off by saying that I tried Buona Via when they first opened with about 7 other women for our annual Holiday dinner. It was very disappointing with the pricey menu and service. We all decided not to go there again for our holiday dinner again. The food was OK, nothing to write home to my Italian family about, that is for sure. I decided several years later to try them out again. This time is was at lunch and there was only two of us. They have a Panini menu (which says is new) and they were priced nicely and included Fries. Not bad. They have apparently added an afternoon Salad bar as well, which is $12 for a Salad bar.... I think that is a bit much. You can add it to an entree for $8.00, Really? it should be $8 regularly and then add to an entree for about $4, especially at lunch. But anyway, we both ordered a panini and they were pretty good. But honestly, I really don't think it is hard to make a panini. The bill for two of us (we both only had water to drink) with two desserts that we shared and the two sandwiches, she got a coffee in the end, was over $50. FOR LUNCH! really. WOW... The food again was just OK. The service was absolutely horrible. They never checked on us until the end when we had our dessert and we had our check. There was about 6 tables total in the place when we got there with about 4 people working the room. When we were about to leave, there were only 2 other tables, about to leave. We also did not get there until about 1pm, so it was not like we were there during a crazy lunch rush. I honestly can say that I will NEVER go back there again this time. They just are not worth the ridiculous money they charge for what they offer and how they serve their customers. I will also not recommend them anymore from my place of work. We refer people every day to restaurants, this will not be one of them any longer. I hope this helps others before they go and have to go through the awful experience we had at our lunch. On a side note, as least I did not have to worry about the "Valet" at lunch, that is the only reason they get a star and food is ok, which receives he other star. read more

By far the best place in Horsham to eat. I have eaten here too many times too count. While it tends to be pricey you get a tremendously valuable tasty meal for your money. There are a few items on the menu that are a steal, for example the sea food salad at just $10 is amazing. The bar menu also has some great sandwiches that are economical. If you have the money, how ever, I suggest trying one of the fish specials. The porter house is also a great stand by and it's always cooked to perfection. They also have a great happy hour every night. My one real criticism is that dance music is played at the bar, it doesn't fit the decor of the place and makes it hard to have conversations sometimes. It doesn't stop me from coming here over and over though, because the service is great and the food is wonderful. read more

Held a family party for about 50 people and received only enough appetizers for about 35 and were told we would be charged extra if they brought more out. I am giving Buona Via a 3 only because of the server. The food was wonderful, but pricey. The portions were not large, but OK. They server who came to our table was very cold. He did not make us feel welcome. This was the our first visit there and it was for my Birthday. He never told us his name, he never even asked us if we wanted to desert. We felt the server, wanted us in and out. I was a server and bartender for over 10 years, it is part of your job to make people feel like you care that you are there. On the other side, the Hostess was very nice. Unfortunately for the server and the rest of the staff that tips are split with, my husband tipped accordingly. the veal medallions were veal cutlets, not medallions the vegetables: steamed unseasoned broccoli and mashed potatoes bread included, no salad the sauce had way too much garlic in it my glass of wine was really a half glass of wine, a small half glass of wine the service was weird our waiter took our order, but didn't bring us our food, the man who did bring us our food didn't speak even when we said thank you, our waiter wasn't busy, maybe he is injured? if so I do understand I had to catch the eye of the rude man who brought us our food, smile and say thank you a third time b4 he noticed and said "enjoy your meal" our nice waiter didn't clear away my plate the little hispanic minion they had running around did it while the waiters stood around and talked and the owner laughed at things on her computer occasionally looking up and bossing people around our nice waiter did clear my husbands plate (so maybe he wasn't injured after all?) total price 68.00 plus a 14.00 tip, we I really should have given to the hispanic minion we won't be going back read more

We went to Buona Via for Christmas Eve. The ambience is very nice, and there were no valets in attendance that we saw, so maybe they have done away with this affectation. The prices were astonishingly high. My husband is Italian-American, and he expects bread with his pasta, but no bread was provided. My father ordered Bruschetta, and only four pieces were brought despite the significant price for something consisting of bread and tomatoes ... and we also ordered calimari, which I do not eat, but those who did said they were disappointed in the taste and it was not cooked enough. I ordered a crabmeat and pasta dish for $20. It was pretty good ... my husband ordered ravioli for $16. He said it tasted good, but for the price the portion was skimpy and again, no bread or salad was included, so all he got were a few ravioli. The worst thing, however, was that my nephew ordered a shrimp and veal entree, and after he was about half finished with it, he discovered a long, black hair interwined amongst the remainder of the food on his plate. His appetite left him immediately. They did take his dinner off the bill, but it really soured the experience completely for all of us, and we were a fairly large party. All in all, I'd say we won't go back, mostly because of the hair incident, but alsof or the lack of value in what you get for the price. We skipped the dessert and coffee. We would also agree with people who were annoyed at the huge dessert cart going around, banging into people's chairs and the wheels running over any coats or scarves that happened to have parts of them touching the floor behind the chairs. read more

Have been here quite a few times over the years. The menu hasn't really changed in the time that I've been going. Sometimes the food is really good, sometimes it's barely passable. For the prices they charge, I feel like it's not really worth the gamble any more. I was there with three others recently. For appetizers, we had 2 clams casino and crabcakes. the crabcakes were well liked. My clams in the clams casino were actually like rubber. I chewed for a while and had to give up and send them back. The service slowed down after that. We were left with empty appetizer plates for quite a while until they cleared them. the place wasn't that busy, and the waiter seemed to congregate right behind our table, next to the kitchen.When the order arrived, everything seemed slightly overcooked. My swordfish was dry, the shrimp were over cooked. There was a lot of grit on the plate from the clams. Another diner had a veal dish. The veal was tough and not very tasty. The other 2 diners were better off, they both liked their dishes. Dessert was really good, cheese cake with whipped cream. oddly, the woman at the dessert cart didn't speak english and couldn't answer any questions asked of her. Probably will not go back. read more
