Worst experiences we've have at a vet. They are clearly in this for the money and not for the love of animals. Every time we make an appt, the receptionist of the phone has the biggest attitude and puts me on hold for 10-20 min at a time. They are "very busy" apparently. Each visit I am spending thousands of dollars on testing, appts, cleanings that would not cost this much at a different vet. They make you feel horrible for not opting into certain tests or shots or medicine. Would not recommend taking your beloved pets here! 1/10 experience. It's such a scam! read more

They have been our vet since 2020 and never explored other options, we have a good relationship with them. They love dogs and my dog seems even happy to go in. No restraint so they must treat her well. Also they do a better job clipping nails than petco and other locals so we take her there for that too now. read more

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs due to their complete lack of moral character. Our poor cat had cancer and was rapidly declining over the weekend. Our regular vet was out of town, and we knew it was time to put him to sleep. I called to schedule an appointment for Monday to do just that. They charged me $75 for the appointment, which they said would be applied to the procedure. Unfortunately, he passed away on his own that weekend. On Monday, I called the clinic in tears to inform them--and the first thing they said was, "Well, the $75 isn't refundable." What a disgusting and heartless thing to say to someone who just lost a beloved family member. I will never forgive them for that and will never bring any of my animals to that clinic again. Clearly, all they care about is money. Even in death, they were ready to nickel-and-dime grieving pet owners. Avoid this place at all costs--they lack any sense of compassion or basic human decency. That being said, I am still salty about bringing my dog in for her diarrhea a while ago, even after explaining the situation they made it seem like she *needed* a $400 blood test and $400 diarrhea panel. I'll start out by saying that I've been coming to this vet for at least 13+ years and they've seen 7 different dogs of mine but in that time they have seriously gone downhill. Pros: Dr. B is still phenomenal and the smartest vet around, which is the only reason I've stayed. Cons: Here are some of the changes I've noticed in the past 13+ years: 1)Ksenia or Kay (the front desk woman) used to be ok to deal with but she has become unbearable. She will talk down to you, disrespect you, tell you she needs to talk to Dr B, put you on hold for 5 seconds and then continue to deny anything you're asking for. She has really become too big for her britches and needs a class in human decency. 2) The upsell here has become insulting. They will recommend everything under the sun just to guilt you so they can make more money. The total of the necessary tests is probably like $700 but the initial invoice with all the suggested items will be $3,500 and their prices are always increasing. They will also lie to you and tell you something is a prescription and sell it to you for $150 with a prescription label on it and then you peel off the label to see it's over the counter and $30 on Amazon. Always be extremely cautious and never let them guilt you into anything. (Also, never buy prescriptions from them unless it's an emergency, they charge 5x the price of online pharmacies. 3) Sitting on test results when your dog is ill. They used to get blood work back the next day and call you that next evening to let you know what was going on with your pet. Now, they will sit on test results for a week even if you call and constantly ask for them. Not cool. Once again, love Dr. B but the rudeness of her office staff coupled with greed is ruining them. They went from 5 stars on google to like 2.5 and there is a good reason for that. read more

I'm a former veterinary technician. I brought my new puppy here, and we wont be coming back. Estimate was $700 for a brand new puppy who has zero issues. It's 2025, why are we still pushing 4 vaccines AT ONCE for a 12 lb puppy? Our vet of course was pushing that Hills & Royal Canin as the ONLY appropriate and balanced kibble when there are plenty other AAFCO balanced foods, and our pup was on one of them. Why are we sending out a $200 fecal comprehensive? Do yall not have BASIC in-house fecal tests? Of course the judgement we received when we declined to do 2 of the 4 vaccines (at once) and a fkn toothbrush/ toothpaste was just embarrassing. I really do appreciate the thorough care and recommendations provided by this vet--they clearly care about animals and take the time to explain everything. However, the pricing and what feels like price gouging are serious concerns. Be very cautious about purchasing treatment packages unless you're absolutely sure you'll use them. I bought a package three years ago that they refused to honor, and only after a lot of back and forth did they agree to apply it toward a new recommended service--but at today's prices. I ended up losing hundreds of dollars in the process. If there were more reasonably priced options in Burbank, I would seriously consider switching. read more

I am so incredibly grateful for Burbank Veterinary Center! My 10-year-old kitty Captain has been seeing Dr. Burpee for the past 7 years or so. He had a basal cell tumor last year that needed to be removed, and Dr. B. did a fantastic job caring for him. I had a scare recently where I found another bump and rushed him in (thankfully it wound up being nothing to worry about!), and when I expressed to Dr. B. that I was having a lot of anxiety about Captain aging and fear of losing him, she spent a long time talking with me about working through these feelings. Most vets probably wouldn't take the time to comfort me in that way, especially when Captain was totally fine, but I was so grateful for her to spend a few extra minutes helping me out. It's very apparent that Dr. B. truly loves the animals that she cares for. On top of that, the staff (especially Kate at the front desk) is always super informative and caring. They know who you are and who your fur baby is, and they are always very friendly. I do think this office may be a bit more expensive than you could find elsewhere, but I would have a hard time trusting anyone else with Captain's health. I agree with the 1 star reviewers. MONEY, MONEY MONEY! I did a heartworm test on my kitten at the time just to be safe she was less than 1 year old. I have ordered revolution flea prevention through Chewy because the cost to cheaper than getting it from the vet itself. Anyways fast forwarding to 1 yr and 1 month to make an appointment for her annual physical. I understand they decline my chewy order to refill my cat's flea prescription because her weight doesn't match the 5.1-15lbs medicine for I am ordering. Annual is fine to check her health and change her weight in their records, but to do another heartworm test is ridiculous! $100 for the blood work test. Furthermore, I previously ordered 5.1-15 lbs revolution flea prevention 5 months ago with their records having her weight at 4lbs. I've tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt numerous times, had simply gotten used to managing my expectations and ensuring that I wasn't getting swindled especially by Dr. Ceko. Until now.... Had my dog treated for persistent vomiting, which of course, required a full lab/xray workup. Without a diagnosis yet, they wanted me to prepay for hospitalization, antibiotics, several other meds, additional sendout labs, new food, and a series of IV fluids for the week, etc! I managed their coercion by limiting the items to things that would yield a diagnosis first, then told them we would discuss the plan. Labs came back normal. Dr. Ceko showed me the xrays, she was convinced it was pancreatitis despite normal labs and normal pancreas on x-ray and encouraged me to do send out labs which I declined. I pointed out the area that looked suspicious in her bowels (I'm not a radiologist, but see films a lot as an RN) and she said it was normal, and referred me back to the good looking pancreas and liver to sell me on food. I took her home and she declined overnight. When I brought her into another ER vet, they saw the copy of the same xrays and pointed out the blockage immediately and worked her up to confirm via US and prepped for surgery (yesterday). Dr. Ceko had the nerve to call me today to see how my dog is and assumed that the ER vet did barium tests and more xrays to find the blockage, which they didn't, they used the same xrays as hers. did not acknowledge her missing it. Without her knowing what the blockage was from, proceeded to try to sell me on specialized dog food saying that she must be eating things that she shouldn't be and needing more nutrients. (the blockage was from a piece of corn on the cob that a toddler had dropped for her months ago and finally got stuck). THE OUTCOME OF DR. CEKO'S LAPSE IN JUDGEMENT AND ASSESSMENT COULD HAVE KILLED MY 5 YO DOG IF I HAD FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT SHE WAS PUSHING. Instead I was astute enough to monitor my dog and brought her to a higher level of care. EVERY single visit I leave feeling as though I just had to stand up for what is right, decline unnecessary items, and be made to feel like a horrible parent. It is draining and exhausting leaving there. THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE WHO DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING MEDICAL AND TRULY MANIPULATE YOU TO FEEL LIKE A BAD PERSON if you decline something that is entirely irrelevant to the current reason for the visit (I have countless examples but this is already long). As a critical care nurse for 17yrs I am quite familiar with standard practice and acknowledge that there are differences between canines and humans, with this, I no longer recommend coming here. read more

Dr Burpee is pleasant enough and knowledgeable- but her staff and billing practices unfortunately make this a place I won't *ever* be returning to. The price structure continually changes (as in gets higher - MUCH higher) depending on the day. There's also very much a "do you want fries with that" mentality where you go in for one specific thing and are then offered HUNDREDS of dollars in extra items that your dog doesn't need (EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.). And the staff couldn't be more smug about it; their nonchalance speaks to a culture where they don't care about their paying customers and seem almost gleeful in the knowledge that they're ripping you off. I've literally spent thousands of dollars there but all they care about is how much more they can squeeze from you. Despite being extremely expensive I went to this vet for some time. My dog had a scheduled appointment at the vet. At that time, I had to go into unexpected surgery - so my son took the dog in. It took me three months to recover. The dogs condition was not serious, but I wanted it looked into. When I was finally well enough to return to working on things that needed doing, I asked my son what happened at the vet and he just said the vet wanted him to spend all this money and he would not do anything without my approval. Given that my dogs issues were not serious at the time and my health issues were, he was more concerned about me. When I called and asked if I could speak to the vet to get a report on the visit, I was told I had to bring the dog back in. I explained my situation and was told "it's been three months, Dr. Burpee will need to see the dog again." I said, "All I want to know is what was observed three months ago." The front desk girl was beyond rude. I asked to speak with Dr. Burpee and she refused. I asked her if she would ask Dr. Burpee if she would talk to me if I paid for the appointment, just to have the phone call - and she put me on hold for one second (so there was no way she could have asked) and then said "I asked and the vet said, "no." Later on we ran out of medication for my dog so we went to get a refill and they said, "This is the last time we'll do a refill, you'll need a new vet." For WHAT reason? I was even willing to PAY for a call with the vet just to learn what the report was from the dog visit. I shouldn't even have to do that! So off we went to a new vet and got the prescription. Come time to renew, the vet is closed and I can't get the meds. So we go back to Dr. Burpee's office and explain the dog is going without the medication she needs and we can show the new prescription, could they please just fill the prescription for 10 days till they return. The answer was, "No." CAN YOU BELIEVE that a VET could not care less about the animal's well-being. This vet has ALWAYS been a money gouger, but that's one thing. To ONLY care about the money and to not care in the least about the dog is shameful. DO NOT GO TO THIS VET! SHAME ON HER AND HER NASTY FRONT DESK STAFF!!! read more

The waiting room is spotless clean, smells nice, and is very comfortable (even has free coffee and a TV). But unfortunately that is where the good news ends. The price gouging is worse than going to buy a car. They want to upsell you on *everything*. The worst part is they do not give balanced medical advice about the pros and cons of any treatment. We all know that medicine (for both humans and animals) is not cut and dry; everything has pros and cons, risks and rewards, costs and benefits. They don't discuss anything like this with you, they just act like you are an irresponsible pet owner if you don't buy every medication, vaccine, food, toothbrush, and lab test under the sun. They pile on every test and treatment to see how much you'll buy, and even have the nerve to make you wait while they write down everything you verbally declined and have you sign each item individually you want to decline. Do I really need to make you sign a paper to NOT buy something?! Like I said, if I was buying a used car, this is just what I'd expect walking in the door. But when at a medical professional's office (animal and human ones), I expect the doctor to be fiscally ethical and my consultant/advocate..... not a pusher of unnecessary and expensive services with dubious benefits (and sometimes unnecessary added risks) for my needs. read more

I am completely disappointed and frustrated with this place. I've been taking my dog here for 4 years. They've always been overpriced but, before today, I knew they cared about my dog and I always felt he was taken care of. Today I will be finding a different vet. Today I needed help. My dog was bit in the face by another dog. ( he is ok ). When I called to explain what happened, I was mid sentence and the girl cut me off and said- we have no availability take him to urgent care. I was shocked. No conversation, didn't ask if my dog was ok, no compassion. I've never heard anyone so rude at this vet. I asked if she had a recommendation for an urgent care and she told me Burbank Urgent Care. I was able to get him in at his old vet in silverlake. When I called our old vet I was able to have a full conversation with a HUMAN who actually cared about my dog. read more

This is a hard review to write, because ultimately, it's a bit of a bummer. Bowser, my sweet aged cat, received a very vague diagnosis from my regular vet, and they recommended I see an internal medicine specialist for an ultrasound. After the practice they recommended never returned my call, a friend suggested I see Dr. Burpee. They were able to get me in a few days after I called. Ultimately, the appointment confirmed the worst, that Bowser likely had lymphoma, and pretty aggressive at that. Dr. B gave me very kind and honest professional thoughts. She laid out the likely options we had, and what that would mean for Bowser and myself, both in terms of treatments, their costs, and their likely outcomes. She was very patient and gentle with me, not rushing me in any way. I basically spent an hour crying in that patient room with my cat, and she and her staff were nothing but supportive while I made a very difficult decision. Most importantly, she was clearly emotionally invested, despite literally just meeting my cat and I that day. I can't tell you how much that level of care and compassion meant to me. A week later, I got a card signed (with messages!) by everyone in the office sending their condolences and love. Dr. B's message especially made my heart so very full. They made a very difficult time as easy as it possibly could be. I live in Koreatown, and I can definitely see myself continuing to take future pets to Dr. B, even though it's way out of the way and I don't drive. A compassionate quality vet is a hard thing to find. read more

I want to update my review from a few years ago. Although I still love Dr. B and her staff, I don't like the fact that this is a money driven office. The amount of medications for my pet is crazy. How can this be good for the organs, liver, kidney etc. She turns her nose up at quality foods that could improve quality of life and is quick to prescribe medications. I believe that if you feed your pet quality food, that means less visits to the vet and less money in their pocket. I also take issue with their office hours. I've never heard of any veterinary office taking a half day off in the middle of the week, when they take half day off on Saturdays. Also, the other vet they have there is awful. The only thing was the price was definitely way higher than average. The breaking point came after we started to take our dog in for diarrhea problem. They never fixed the problem. I should have taken heed when I read reviews here mentioning KATE... ...so if you care about your furry family member please take them elsewhere. I made an appointment for an echocardiogram for my dog. I paid the deposit and got a confirmation call the day prior to the appointment. Then, about half an hour later I receive another phone call for them wanting all of my dog's records. (So, less than 24 hours to get that information to them for my appointment) I spoke to "Kate" about this and stated that my Vet's office is small and extremely busy and I couldn't be sure they could get everything to them within less than 24 hours. I also stated that I knew this would be an important and expensive appointment and I wanted the vet to have all necessary information to make an educated assessment of my dog's situation and so could I change the appointment to another day to allow my vet enough time to get the information to them. I was told there were no more appointments for almost another month. When I questioned why there was originally an appointment available within one week, but now, after having paid my deposit, it would be nearly a month? (and for a reason that was because of them not giving me enough notice of needed materials) Kate began to immediately become combative and interrupted me and wouldn't stop and when I raised my voice to ask for her to allow me to complete my sentence she became passive aggressive saying I was "yelling" at her. When I stated that I was not in fact yelling but only asking to be permitted to finish my sentence - she STILL continued to rudely talk over me. I then asked her name and when she said "Kate" I told her I had read about her in Yelp and should have known better. She then said (in a strange "baby" voice) she wasn't going to allow me to "yell" at her (which at this point was definitely being said for those around her to THINK she was being yelled at) - which I wasn't. Then she also asked me if I wanted to cancel the appointment or not to which I replied I wasn't sure, but that I was not going to allow her to prod and bait me and be passive aggressive and gaslight me with her "baby" voice and attitude...and that I now had concerns about my dog's safety should he come in there... ...at which point she began to "cry" and mumbled something and hung up on me. (I should also note that when I had originally asked her name when she was being so aggressive and rude and she said "Kate" I mentioned that I had read about her in reviews on Yelp and that I had given her the benefit of the doubt and was going to try this facility anyway in spite of those reviews. So I, in fact, had actually unknowingly "had her back" and now here she was being so callous and rude to me. How disheartening.) I then called back and asked to speak to the manager (cause honestly what else could I do at this point? ) and she said "I AM ....KATE ...I AM" so then, without even allowing me to say anything she said " give me your credit card number for a refund" I asked if she already had it from the original charge to which she replied they do not keep them for customer safety. I then stated that she should be aware that since I am now giving her my credit card number if anything should transpire with that card I would know who it was so to keep that in mind. She said ok and as I read the cc number she said to speak up she couldn't hear me so I replied with "you mean I'm not yelling?!" To which she replied "YEAH, THAT'S A FIRST!" She then said "if you give me the number I will submit a refund so that we NEVER have to speak to each other ever again!" So I gave her my card number and then she hung up. *STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE KATE IS TOXIC. * (Sidenote: I feel really sorry for the Vet because I'm 100% certain that Kate doesn't let customers talk to the Vet about ANY issues....especially not with or caused by her.) read more

She has extended the life of so many of our cats it's insane. And the best part is peace of mind she provides!! You know when you go to her that she will figure out the problem and she won't stop until she does!! She will never give up on your pet. She will do everything she can to improve their quality of life and extend the time they have. Above all that, she's compassionate and caring. My kitties used to get excited when she walked into the room!! She loved them and they loved her. We moved across the country and it's literally the only thing preventing me from still seeing her. To say I love and adore this place is an understatement. I'm pretty sure the saying, "above and beyond," comes from the quality of service given here. Dr. Burpee and the entire team here at BVC truly are the best of the best. We feel confident in saying this because we've gone to our fair share of lesser quality veterinary offices, over the years. Their bedside manner is everything you'd want it to be. They genuinely care about all the creatures that come in for help, and it shows. They want you to understand what's happening, why, and how to deal with it. They are always so thoughtful and considerate of both the pet(s) and the pet parents. So, our experience... We've had our dog, Piper, since she was 3 months old. Since we brought her home, we've gone to quite a few vets. Piper hasn't always had it super easy, as when we first adopted her, she was completely riddled with demodectic mange. Had no fur on her face or back, because the mites kill off the hair follicle. You give them medication until their immune system is strong enough on it's own to kill off the mites. So, vet visits every week to check on the progress. Our first vet decided to stop treatment before she was fully rid of the mites, though the final testing he did showed they were not all dead. So... they came back, and fiercely. Time to start the treatment from square one. Once she was well enough, we took her to another vet, and had the same type of experience... But, we were going less frequently at this point, thankfully, so it held us over until we moved and had to find a new one. Banfield felt like none of them wanted to do what they were doing... at no point did it ever feel like they cared about the pets they were treating. We then found Dr. Sharp. I do not see how that office has the high rating I see on yelp because, woof. We took her here a couple of times and each time was more disappointing than the prior. We brought her to Dr. Sharp for an evaluation, due to some drastic weight gains, lack of energy, and a complete change in Piper's demeanor. She'd become lethargic, and would need to stop on our walks every 5-10 minutes, and take a rest. This was so far from her norm, and she was only 6 years old at this point. She'd gone from her normal range of 45-50 pounds to 64.2... that's not okay. We'd not changed her diet and actually, she'd eat less but keep gaining. She's always had high quality food, we didn't and hadn't given her table food, and have always been easy on the treats. We couldn't figure it out and just didn't know what to do. We took her to Dr. Sharp and he said it's just her age (again, she was only 6... and had gained 14-19lbs. I'm sorry... nah) and they gave no advise, no other possibilities, no recommendations for testing. Nothing. She's aging and it's going to just be like this and that's it. The treatment there was also super lacking in bedside manner. Piper is super easy, has always been so great with allowing anyone to do anything to or with her, and she just let's it. She's very familiar with having to be touched all over and poked and prodded, so at the very least, just gauge the animal and see what method you need to do to approach them. Instead, they were always unnecessarily rough with her, just for the simplest of things like putting her on the exam table or checking her temperature. Off to find someone else who we feel will actually care. A little goes a long way. Now, we found Burbank Veterinary Center (Piper was nearly 7 at this point), and immediately... it was like night and day. We told them about her norm and they cared to go over everything with us, and actually listened. The entire team offers themselves to help however they can, never try to rush you through anything. Right away, Dr. B discussed each possible scenario she thought that could be to blame and how to find out, and her team reviewed the cost and what we should expect before going forward with anything. Dr. B thought it may be hypothyroidism so right away ran the testing for this and other possibilities. As soon as they got the results, she called us after hours and told us that she had hyperthyroidism and the severity of it. She was so kind and compassionate on the phone, and you could tell she cared. She prescribed medications to take care of this and within 5 days of treatment, Piper was back to her self (energy-wise) and we could walk and walk like before, she was happy, and onto losing that weight. Amazing 180! She's now 10 years old and has been a patient of BVC for 3 years now and we'll never take her anywhere else. Since then, they've seen us through countless appointments for arthritis laser therapy, acupuncture, dental, mass removals, testing, and all the results - both good and bad, and have been an amazing support and resource through and through. This is the worst animal hospital you can go to. I took my cat there for an issue and they charged me over $700 and did nothing. The Doctor would not even talk to me. The issue was not resolved and I had to take the cat somewhere else. Be very careful about this place. They are there just to charge you and leave you without any answers. We sent a dog in to these vets to get medication for an eye infection. The services that were rendered by these vets were excessive. The bill that they produced was 6 times what would have been reasonable. I called to talk with them about the charges and the secretary blew me off saying the client already paid the bill and it isn't their problem what I think about their charges. I have over 20 years of experience working with animals in Burbank As a compassionate groomer. I take great pride in advocating for dogs and clients with compassion and sincerely providing value in everything that I do. I KNOW a rip off when I see one..The poor owner of the dog does not have the experience that I have and was unaware that the diagnosis was made to seem much more serious than it is in actuality. This vets claims are that the dog has a scratch into the second layer of skin on the dogs cornea of which there are seven layers of skin. The first layers of the cornea in ALL eyes are scratched in general. That is NOT an emergency in the first two layers of that skin. Yes the dogs eyes looked very red and there was a lot of discharge happening. It looks scary when dogs have eye infections. The dog did need antibiotic eye drops for that, but that should have been the extent of the treatment. $75 for the visit..that's normal. $153 for the dye scan to look at the cornea probably not necessary, but in the energy of being thorough fine...and $45 for oxyfloxicin The eye drop antibiotic. That would have sufficed. To get a bill for 5 other eye medications in addition to the antibiotic...plus charging over $100 to pluck ear hair, cut nails and express anal glands is a premium Price! they did blood work also for $225 why?? total bill of $849. They should be ashamed of themselves. The owner of the dog said every time they ever go into this vet their bill is over $1,000. That's not normal. :(. I Just want everyone to be aware that they are comfortable selling you way more treatment services than are necessary. There are plenty of good natured vets that don't want to rob their clients blind and create un-necessary panic by making the circumstances seem much worse than they are in reality. Another vet has looked at the dye pics of the cornea and has confirmed these statements of mine to be true. The treatments prescribed were very excessive and do indicate greed as a motivating factor. I am writing this review because the secretary refused to allow me to speak with the vet even though the client expressed their consent and asked me to do so. I hope that others can avoid the price gouging and stress that we endured today. Terrible. read more

Please please, PLEASE, please if you care about your animal, love your pet, find another place other than here. I know u may see the positive , but things just keep on changing. I was going here for 5 years & trying to hold on. It pains me to write this because Dr. Burpee herself has been so incredible helpful with my dog in the beginning. She knows what she is doing, but I'm not sure whose running the behind the scenes for her, as far as her prices, and the hiring of staff. I never see many guys working here. I kept continually seeing holes in this place. They will add alot onto your bill. They use fear techniques to get you to do all types of extra stuff. I'm guessing that more of the good reviews on here are either older or they have alot of money , so they get pumped for their money from this place. It seems as if they pick & choose who they are extra kind too, depending on who giving more $ or if you are newer, since older patient like myself are leaving. Please don't just look at the reviews on here, go look at the goole reviews as well. If you love your animal, I would not recommend here, they don't care about your animal, not like they use too. Unfortunately, it is very very hard to trust that your dog really needs what they are saying, or they are just trying to get more money. If it's an emergency, it's a pain to get someone to help. There is one front desk girl who honestly is the only reason I was holding on because she showed compassion for my dog, and would try to help me with her. The other front desk ppl outside of this one girl, are utterly ridiculous and have no empathy for animals. Today solidified my last time coming here. The girl Yanni, who helped me today was so incredibly unfriendly. Also all of the prices here have gone up by $20 since the pandemic, I must find another vet. A simple check up is now $70. I wouldn't even mind paying that if I was treated nicely , but her receptionist staff. It makes no sense how they act. The front desk girl, Yanni or Yeni, something to that effect, is what prompted me to actually write finally a review about everything. It was the last straw. at first she seems so nice. I think I've talked to her on the phone & she was pretty chill. However in person was a different story. I came to get some simple flea medication. I knew my dog hadn't had her annual check at this vet yet. Before I could explain that I'd taken her to get an annual exam, at her vet in Florida. I take her here, when I visit family. Yanni said they could not give me any medication since I'd not been seen in such a long long time. Her tone was so incredibly condescending and judgmental. I let her know it wasn't a long long time , since my last time there was a year ago. Normally annual exams happen... yearly.. hence annual. In the midst of me talking she defensively replied," I'm not judging you." I told her it felt like she was. I still was trying , so I told her I understood about the exam. (However this has happened a couple of times in the past, normally some of the nicer girls that use to work there would give me the meds, since it was important and I just make an appointment to bring her in. I would then bring her in). I said no problem could she print me out a list of the prices of each procedure needed, so I could budget. Before I could get the full question out she sharply told me no and that she couldn't print it out. This perplexed me because I always get print outs. I said ok, can you just give me the prices, she said no. This girl said she could not give me the prices of the procedure for my dog?!?! I've never heard such a thing, you want me to make an appointment not knowing any prices? In the middle of me talking about this, she answered the phone in the middle of me talking. So I asked the other girl Melissa to help me instead. Finally I got the prices. Melissa was also pretty chill. Yanni/Yeni interrupted my conversation with Melissa, to me, when he Dr. calls we have to answer right away. Her sharp, nasty condescending, defensive attitude was so exhausting. As a receptionist just please help me with trying to get everything squared away with my dog. Unfortunately at my last exam I didn't see Dr. Burpee, nor did she perform the one before that. As good as she is, is sad that you barely see her. I took my dog to the vet in Florida to get her teeth clean because Burbank vet was quoting me like $1500 for her teeth cleaning saying her teeth were so bad. Yet the vet in Florida said, after X-rays and everything her teeth were in great health & she was very healthy & only a level 1. I only paid $400. Never written a review this long, but I would want to know this about a place I was taking my dog too as well. read more
