A great store, very clean inside with classic Burberry clothes. I also went to the Burberry Brit store next door, and the workers there are so friendly. The clothes are more casual, but the coats and tops were timeless. I wish I could afford to shop here more often as they have some really great pieces. worth a trip out here! read more

A kid's jacket was purchased online and the size needed to be changed, so it was suggested to be bring it to the 57th Street location as they carried a selection for children and they had the merchandise there in the size that was needed. Upon getting there a conversation was had with C******* to put the jacket on hold for exchange and a pair of shoes as well to match the jacket. My brother went in since he was working a few blocks from the location and he was instructed to ask for C******** along with other details. C********* and the other workers there racially profiled the man, why? Well, he is of color, he does work in construction, he was coming from work, and he did not fit the profile of who they believed should be shopping at Burberry. She refused to do the exchange for him, yet she was talking him into purchasing the different size and let his girlfriend come in to make the return since they needed I.D., and a bunch of other nonsense she stated. To follow-up, we went the next day, while my brother was at work as he runs a construction company, and the employees were much more willing to help us. Granted, they were aware that we were coming but the hard time that they gave him and the policy and procedures that they claim they had to follow in order to service him were not mentioned to us in anyway shape or form. No I.D. was requested, no additional information was needed. The lady rung us up and that was it. The hard time he received I knew had to do with his presentation and how they perceived him, so I was not shocked we were treated differently when we went the following day. Truth be told that location is very stuffy and the customer service varies depending on who you get and the attitude of the day I guess. I personally no longer support Burberry after they presented a noose around the neck of a model during fashion week a few years ago, but you can't tell anyone else how to feel. At any place you go, sometimes the salepeople can be pushy, sometimes you wish they were there more. This place was right in the middle. This store made me feel like a real man. Its customer service makes me feel very disappointed. Burberry is known as the famous beautiful coats in the world and it has a long stand in the fashion industry. Long stand in the fashion industry which also means it has a lot of experience in the customer service. However, last couple weeks, I came to the store on the Spring street, Manhattan to ask if they had the LIGHTWEIGHT DOWN-FILLED FUR TRIM JACKET in store. They said they had it in Madison, Uptown Manhattan. The lady was really nice; she gave a call to that store to check if they actually had it in store and she said she did not want me to waste a trip to go up there without the coat in hold. I was pleaded at first. Then she gave me a number of the lady in the Madison store. At that same day, I gave a call to a lady in the Madison store to tell her to hold the coat. She said she would call me back when she had it. Yes, calling me back my ass! It has been two weeks, I had not received a phone call and when I called her back yesterday, there was a gentlemen said SHE IS IN VACATION. I am going to leave NY in a week or two that is why I'm in rush. Also, does she think wasting other person time is a great strategy to get customers attention? She may right about that by a complaining from a customer. So the gentlemen who was in charge for her said he could help me about the situation. Guess what! They just ended up the same drama; after giving all the information and my phone number he said he will call me back a moment later. Yeah his moment later was never. Again, we have been purchasing many coats, handbags, shirts and belts from this company; in other countries the customer service are very fast and promising. But I had to admit that customer service in the Madison, New York is a broken-promises customer service. read more

I recently bought a Burberry trench coat from Bloomingdales and needed to get it altered. I decided to bring it to Burberry since it's a pricey item and I didn't trust anyone else. Both the staff and tailor were extremely professional. I was given an estimate for 2 weeks for alterations and they delivered on time. To get the sides taken in slightly and the sleeves shortened, it cost $90. When I came to pick up my coat, they gave me a free jacket dust cover. Happy happy. read more

If you were to ask yourself what brand defines you? I would say Burberry. I love the superb customer service and beautiful clothing they offer here. As you walk into the flagship store you are greeted by Emma Watson JK (She is not the face of Burberry anymore). But as if Burberry wasn't hot already Emma Watson made it hotter. The store is like a giant town house with 6 floors, the first four are women's clothing and the top two are the men section. Each floor is staffed with knowledge sales people (They can speak multiple languages too) to help make your shopping experience easier. Burberry cares for its customers, the purchase of a Burberry product is not the end of Burberry's relationship with you. Once a dry cleaner destroyed the buttons on my Burberry dress shirt, I was able to bring my shirt to the tailor shop in the basement of the store and get it fixed for FREE! They also offer dry cleaning if you do not trust your local dry cleaner to dry clean your Burberry clothes right. I am a happy person whenever I walk into this store. I love Burberry read more

I have always loved burberry - they're a favorite brand of mine and so when looking for a pair of rainboots I of course came here. Upon entering I was not greeted by a single on of the reps lined up, but rather ignored. A little put off I made my way up the stairs to shoes and asked if I could try on a certain pair. It took more than a little while to get the shoes to try on and I only needed to make sure they fit and then I was going to buy them (which took about 30seconds). I asked to buy them and the lady gave me an ipad and asked me to fill out my information and then disappeared. After about 10-15minutes she returned (I have no idea where she went) and I handed back the ipad to here. Having already shopped at burberry before all I had to do was type in my name and all my information came up right away (so I sat there for about 15minutes doing nothing). When she realized I had already shopped there she looked at me in a very judgmental way and said, "oh, you have shopped here before?" I was very put off by the question and felt offended. Why wouldn't I have shopped there before? The customer service that everyone seems to be raving about was not experience by me. The rainboots however are great - as are all burberry products. I would shop here again because of the great products and hope for better customer service next time. read more

So let's start with that who are you? and when I find out who you are then I'll pass you to Lizette. Yes, this is how one of the high end stores in the world handles a customer who has been trying for hours to make a purchase. So absolutely disgusted by the high level of disrespect from a child. i went in for a coat purchase a couple of months ago and was 99% sure i'd be bringing home the duffle coat with fur trim on the hood after seeing it on the website. tried it on and it looked great! but there was no lining and the itchy interior of the sleeves were really bothering me. the gentleman that assisted me was wonderful, he went up and down the stairs bringing me various other coats to try on until i finally found another coat that i loved that was of a better quality and weave than the duffle. he brought me pants and scarves so i could pair with the coat (note: i was definitely not dressed like i belonged in one of these stores if you know what i mean, but if i go shopping i just want to be super comfortable since it's already annoying you have to put clothes on/ take clothes off). he helped me for awhile suggesting other clothes - i asked him for some recs since i had time and just wanted to browse - and was very patient and understanding that if i was going to spend at least two grand on clothes that day it wasn't going to be grab and go. yes you could argue that he probably just wanted me to buy more things knowing i was going to spend, but he showed excellent customer service, and that's what i want to focus on. it's good to see that not all of these designer stores employ only snobs that don't realize you're there to spend money and that if they don't have their nose high up in the air you would actually buy from them. read more

I have shopped here in the past and had gotten good service. I went in because I recently lost a button on one of my coats. Without hesitation they brought my item down to the tailor to see if they had my button. Not only did they provide me with an extra button they put the other one on my coat. Fantastic! read more

Being from England, I have a place in my heart for Burberry. The staff were friendly and smiling. Most (not all) Burberry products are usually well made and really last. My favorite item I have from Burberry is my cropped leather Prorsum jacket. It's cool, yet refined. Some of their items are not so great in quality, so you have to look closely before purchasing. My father in law is a tough person to buy a gift for until I thought of the perfect gift: a valet key fob. Since he is a fan of Burberry, I decided to stop in for a bit of early holiday shopping while on vacation. When I asked for men's key fobs, I was directed to the women's accessories. When I asked a second sales associate for men's key fobs, I was pointed in the right direction. Sadly, they didn't have any in stock. The courteous sales associate on 5 made up for the snobby sales associate on 1. However, the obnoxious sales associate that shared an elevator with us down to 2 that announced, OMG IS THAT CLARE DANES? made me knock off a star. Note to Staff: If you are going to apply to the snobby school of service, you cannot be star struck. You are supposed to feign indifference. read more

I was very interested in purchasing a few items from this location and was prompted to leave a message twice. Poor customer service.

Can't stand the cliche Burberry check because it is the equivalent of wearing an item that is itself a logo. But Prorsum (their runway fashion line)? I'd kill for most of it, especially because twice a year you can get it from 40-60% off. Christopher Bailey has hardly set a foot wrong since starting the line and it is impeccable. You can find lots of it at the mid-town store, substantially more than at the Soho store, which is much, much smaller. Everything I own from Burberry Prorsum is still in fantastic shape, including paper-thin cashmere cardigans that are ridiculously soft and comfortable, and a rabbit-fur-collar double-breasted overcoat that has only lost a tiny bit of fur over two years later. I also got a Burberry London slim-fit trench in gray mini-houndstooth that get loads of compliments. The midtown store is enormous, and thankfully the menswear department is separated from the gaggle of people coming in to ogle at the logo/check-branded stuff and keychains, etc. It's quiet and well-laid out on the mens floor, with more than enough salespeople around to help. Minor minus: it can be hot. as. hell up there. Clothes (those made in England and Italy) - high quality. Climate control is...not high-quality. About those sales associates. The experience varies wildly. When I came to the store in nice jeans and a basic sweater, I was hardly looked at, and once got the old midtown up-and-down. When I came in wearing the coat? Got fawned over. So...not your most genuine folk. And when I tried on a trench that was obviously a size too big a sales associate insisted to me that it was perfect because it would be filled out by bulkier clothes underneath. If by bulkier clothes she meant a suit of armor then yes. However, 1) I've had the experience of sales associates happily going to the backroom to get items that weren't on the floor when I specified what I was looking for. 2) When I bought my trench only to find out two days later that it had dropped another $150 in price, I got a price adjustment without any futzing around. So that's nice. Overall, wonderful clothes, mixed sales associate experience, still one of my favorite midtown spots. And if you're jonesing for something they don't have, there's always the possibility you can find it at the Soho store. Oh yeah, the stuff is expensive. read more

Climate control system was a bit off, so that every other floor was air conditioned and alternate floors were a bit hot and stuffy. I went in today to speak to someone about repairing my raincoat, a repair that should take less than 10 minutes. The retail associate took my jacket to the repair department. After a short time she returned carrying my raincoat like it was a piece of trash and proceeded to tell me that I would have to leave it for 10 days. Now, taking that long for such a minor repair is bad enough but to do so in such a rude manner speaks volumes about the poor quality of employees working at this store. Disappointing! read more

So finally I kinda work out the difference between Burberry and Burberry P!!! Burberry P is only in certain places...and it is just like the other almost-one-of-kind-brands. ONLY a few runway pieces are produced. Typically one in each of 4 sizes, if at all. Sometimes 1 or 2 sizes only. So the runaway show becomes the "loss leader" for the brand. My assistant, Clive was very nice. The other chap read his ipad the whole time..kinda wierd. Update autumn 2016: I have been back many times to this flagship store. The "problem" is the staff changes for each visit (where do they go?). My most recent visit revealed that the staff really did not know the most recent runway show (the first of the mixed female/male shows). read more

My home town in Houston which is the 4th largest city has a pathetic Burberry store in the galleria thats about one half the size of one of the floors of this store. I went into Burberry looking for my first suit. Although I left with nothing, I did enjoy the great customer service provided to me on the 5th floor. The sales person was very helpful and he didn't try to push me into buying a suit that didn't fit. He took time to find a suit that fit me and also explained why they didn't fit and what did, but at the end of the day I didn't leave with anything because of the large price tag. read more

The layout of this store is nice, and the first doorman we met was cordial enough. Afterwards, the experience declined somewhat. We were handed off to two associates on the second floor who seemed to lack product knowledge. They were out of stock of two boot styles my friend was looking for (one clearance, but the other a staple item--how do you not have that in stock at the flagship?) A series of minor service transgressions thereafter (no offer to check other stores, no eye contact, no handshake or recommendations, etc) and we got the feeling we were an afterthought in the completely empty store on a weekday afternoon. No send off from the crowd of associates chatting next to the exit, either. Most of these issues are minor and wouldn't detract from a good "value" experience at a department store, but when you are purchasing a luxury product they should earn the margin with exemplary service. Still giving 2 stars because it is a very nice store in a noteworthy shopping district and may be worth the stop if you get a good sales team member and know what you want. read more

I gag a bit whenever I see obnoxious Burberry checks and would actually (discreetly) photograph the worst Burberry outfits and Twitter 'em (tan haymarket 2 pc suit??!?). But Prorsum has not a plaid mark! I saw a Winter 2010 Prorsum runway item and chased it down all the way up to the fifth floor of this flagship store on a Friday evening five minutes before closing. As the indecisive me tried on the beloved (and heftily priced) product pandering about in front of the mirror, the sales associate never once rushed me or acted dismissively. I bought the item that night, way past closing time and never regretted it. The asst women's manager, Carmen Rodriguez, also went above and beyond with spectacular customer service and made the experience amazing. Now if only they'd burn the check pattern. read more

Come here for my yearly quilted fall coat and end up leaving with a coat/scarf/ballet flats! The customer service can't be beat and they are super helpful. I went in one seaosn for my usual coat and I fell in love with these patent/leather ballet flats. I needed one half size up and they didn't have it ins stock. The amazing sales person called several stores and finally found one pair left in the US in California! She had them ship them to me free of charge and I got them in two days! They are super comfy and I wear them throughout the year with skinny jeans! Love the 5th ave store. It can be crowded but, you don't notice because there is always a sales associate to attend to your needs! read more

Horrible customer service. I purchased a $2000 coat, I saw the coat on sale at Nordstrom's so I refused the order when it came. Not sure what happened to the coat after I refused it but UPS took it back. They never credited me. I had to go through investigation with American Express. I had proof that it was refused. Michael the store manager told me he was arguing with UPS that it was impossible for me to refuse it? WTH? It's America, I can do whatever I want. I have the right to change my mind and refuse anything. Barberry was stating I signed for the item on the fourth attempt. UPS doesn't make four attempts. I live alone and they were saying somebody named Angela sign for it. I don't know any Angela's and if she's paying for the coat then by all means let her have it. But they were charging my card!!! Plus I was at work at the time that this supposed signature happen. American Express did credit me but I hope they charge that back to Burberry and didn't take the loss on it. Unbelievable horrible customer service... I will never shop at that store again. read more

I love this store. I came in here to buy a polo shirt and have to say that their service was exceptional and that it had no flaws. I have no problem with this stores and would fully recommend this store to everyone. The store was nice and clean. It was tidy - clothes neatly folded and placed on shelves. One word - SNOTTY! Very snotty. I mean, this is Burberry, not Chanel or LV or Hermes that they need to be so snotty. A lot of people don't even like their designs, and their bags are canvas not even real leather. It irks me when salespeople at top stores are snotty, I mean, they are the ones behind the counter while the customer is the one paying for the goods. Their paychecks and commissions come from the customers. I went in a couple of times to see their bags and wallets since I was in the market for both. The guy didn't like my touching and opening the wallets, and he snottily picked one up and walked away with it saying that it wasn't on sale despite my looking at it. Gucci and Prada just down the street are much more friendly. Burberry has nothing to be snotty about in the US; they are not a top selling brand, there is stiff competition, and their counter in Saks is pretty much deserted and in a little corner nobody can see. I was thinking of getting a Burberry wallet, I like their check on the long wallets, but decided to spend my money elsewhere, where I can get a bigger bang for the buck. I went in today to find a shirt for my mom that I found online. I wanted to actually see the shirt in person before I bought it. As soon as I walked in I was greeted warmly not only by the door man but also staff. Another staff member immediately asked me if I knew where I was going, since it was my first time there obviously I didn't know. He took me to the elevators and said that women's apparel is on the 3rd floor and up. I decided to go to the 4th floor and bingo, as soon as I walked in another 2-3 employees asked if I needed help I showed them the picture of the shirt on my phone and immediately one of the gentleman, I believe his name is Brian went to get it for me. He let me feel the shirt and hold it up and make a good guess if my mom would like it. I give this store 5 stores for the cleanliness,courtesy and decoration. I absolutely love it. read more

I have several items from Burberry, most purchased at the Soho store, which has very good service. Recently, I went to the midtown store because they have a much bigger selection, and the purchase brought one irritation after another. I did find a coat I liked (and bought it), but they were so short-staffed that the entire transaction took more than an hour even though I know my size, only tried on two things, and made up my mind right away. This lack of staffing wasn't a fluke, either: the coat had been on display and was wrinkled, but since just getting my size and paying for it had taken so long, I had to leave it to be pressed, and when I went back to pick it up a week later, I spent another half hour waiting for them to retrieve it, even though I had called in advance to let them know I was on my way. To make matters worse, after only a week two of the buttons started unravelling. Since I didn't have another two hours to spend going to Burberry, I just paid to have them sewn back on at my usual tailor. The midtown store has a great selection, but shopping here is like visiting the DMV. One really shouldn't have to spend hours on a simple purchase because they have not hired enough sales persons. read more

I went to the burberry prorsum store today and had a wonderful experience! Many people rate it at 4 stars because of the price but its burberry so that's to be expected. I dropped in to purchase some cologne and the woman was extremely nice and got me and my grandmother both bottles of water since it was about 90 out. She was patient and helped me pick out my fragrance and even have me her card and the end. Was a great experience and will be sure to go back! read more
