I purchased a washer on 7-28-25 at the Colonial Heights store. I was told by the salesman that the…read morewasher could be delivered to my house the following Monday 8-4-25 for an additional $169.00 or I can be picked up on Friday 8-1-25 from the store. I chose to pick it up on the 1st because I needed a washer Immediately. The salesman said they would call me when it came in. Friday came and I never heard anything so I called the store at 2pm and spoke to the salesman again and he said the washer would not be here until Monday the 4th. I expressed my dissatisfaction with my service because I had scheduled help to get the washer into the house on Friday and I had no way of getting the washer in the house on Monday. Again, I was told I could pick the washer up on Friday. The salesman said there must be a misunderstanding. I asked to have a discount on the washer because of the inconvenience and the salesman said he gave me the sale price. The salesman then told me he could give me my money back as a resolution to the problem. I then asked to speak to a manager and the salesman said he would be here on Saturday. I called on Saturday and spoke with a manager and explained the situation again. I asked the manager if they could waive the delivery fee since I had no one to help get the washer in the house and he said he would do it for $129.00. I then said if you could bring the price down to $100.00 I would except that. The manager said he could not do that. I told the manager that I have bought appliances from them before and bought numerous appliance parts but obviously my words fell on deaf ears. I then told him to cancel the order and I would call him back on Monday to give him my credit card information to credit my account. I called on Monday and spoke with the salesman again and gave him my information to return my money. He said he would take care of it. I checked my bank account on Thursday and the money still had not been returned. I called the store again and the salesman said my account was credited on Monday and it may take 2 to 3 days for the money to clear. He said if you don't see the money in your account by Friday to give us a call. I finally got a receipt for the transaction on my phone Friday afternoon. I then called my bank to verify the transaction and they told me that the transaction was actually done on Friday and not on Monday like the salesman said. I know the customer is not always right every time but when you are told that your money has been returned and it hasn't, you can pick your washer up on Friday and you can't. Then you are told you must have misunderstood what was said. If they are willing to lie about when your money has been returned to your account would they also lie about when the washer was supposed to come in? Integrity is everything!!!! I have done business with The Appliance Place for years and I have bought a Refrigerator, Dishwasher and numerous appliance parts from them with no problems. My family has also done business with The Appliance Place before but after this experience neither my family or I will give The Appliance Place our business or recommendations any more.

Since I didn't need it immediately I decided to price check around, Ace being my second stop. I spoke with the owner who helped me look for the item. Turns out, they didn't have/sell this (non-standard) item. Instead of saying, I'll order it or go somewhere else, he says, I have one at home, you can borrow it and return it when you are finished. This man doesn't know anything but my name but generously gave me one of his personal home items to use for my one time job. Thanks to ACE for saving me $89 and still allowing me to get my home project done. It truly is the friendly neighborhood store. On a side note, they have a great selection of home items, natural cleaning products, gifts, yeti coolers and adorable bird houses.

Before I even interacted with him, there was a guy with no name tag on the other side of the counter in front of the register, so close I could have tapped his shoulder, who completely ignored me for several minutes. Eventually, Terry came around the corner and asked if I was being helped. I said no, I just need a duplicate key. I followed him to the other side of the island and gave him the house key I was having copied. No sooner had I handed him the key then he took a personal call on his cell phone. He was on his cell phone the entire time the key was being made. I was flabbergasted because given the white ponytail hanging out of his hat, I judged him well old enough to have customer service ingrained in him, but this old-head Terry showed less respect to me as the customer than the average 15 year-old employee I see bagging groceries. He slipped the new key into the bag and handed it to me with no break in his phone conversation. As I walked away, I decided to compare my key with the duplicate Terry had just made. The match was COMICALLY different. My biggest regret is that I didn't snap a picture of it for this review, but suffice to say there's no way the duplicate key would've opened the deadlock I need it for. That's actually very concerning because I'm relying on this duplicate to let me in to someone else's home to feed their cats while they're out of town. The wrong key would make it impossible to feed them. I went back to Terry and he was still on his personal phone call. Seeing me again, he wrapped up with "I love you" which confirms the nature of this call, and gave me the undivided attention that would have spared a revisit in the first place. I held the two keys together and told him I was skeptical the key he had just made would work. He took the keys in his hand, agreed and cut me a new key. When not on the phone, what do you know? he was able to make an identical duplicate. The key was just over five dollars, which feels like a fine value. The only reason I'm doing two stars not one is because Kelly was so great welcoming everyone in and checking out at the register.

We bought the 3 types of gaskets we needed. 2 rope gaskets for our window frame in our stove, (1 was for the vent area and 1 was for the glass that went inside of the frame) that was the 2 rope gaskets and then the 3rd one was for our Door hatch to the stove. So 3 total. I removed it from our stove to bring in the gaskets to match up what we needed. Neil said that definitely helped him figure out which ones we need. Ok so here we go, we had a 2005 Acura MDX with a new transmission. we drove it to California and…read moreback after it had over 200K on the engine. Great family/boys trip. Truck belongs to my son. I say son "you change the oil and schedule the timing belt to be replaced its a honda if you don't do this the engine will blow" my son "will do it next week" two weeks later timing belt goes engine is shot. call around hard engine to replace several versions nobody will guarantee price. I call Kenny he give me used engine cost and labor I say great!! have car towed to his place. Gave him 1700 Cash up front (was nervous as hell, I don't know him he don't know me not best part of town). We hit several snags a long the way all of which require additional money which I only sent an extra 250 (again I have restored several vehicles so I know the mechanic is always going to ask for additional cash at some point and I have learned to say no and cut my losses and leave it up to the courts if I have to. needless to say no problems with the cash. Kenny stayed in touch returned my calls tried his best to explain the delays and we communicated. Now the biggest issue here was time. It took more than a month to complete this job. I am cutting them a break here because I have talked to several folks who explained that Honda made several different engines for this model Acura and it can be a pain even with the vin to get the right one used which is why folks generally go remanufactured and it ends up costing more. there were some additional cost at the end that I had to pay like alternator and axle replacement but it wasn't to bad so they get a pass on that as well. I would give them 3.5 stars if I could because of the amount of time, but the quality of work they did on the truck has proven to be awesome!! we have driven the truck from Richmond to va beach and back several times no problem Richmond to Baltimore several times no problem. check engine light came on but probably EGR issue. bottom line truck is running good and the mechanics he used did dam good work!! If you have the time dude was trustworthy and got the job done. Kudos to you and your brother!! good work!!
