The Mocktail Recipe Deck would be a good gift.

Every year I attend Tales of the Cocktail, and I've noticed a shift to non and low ABV spirits. And, while I still prefer 80 proof or above, I do have friends that are trying to cut back or don't drink, so I like to have enjoyable alternatives for them when they come to visit. However, that's not always easy to find, so I was excited when I heard about Burden of Proof. Founded by Obreanna McReynolds & Dean Peterson (wife & hubby), Burden of Proof is the first non-alcoholic bottle shop in SGV. I was amazed by the wide selection available. I spoke to Dean (who is very nice & knowledgeable) and he mentioned that they carry 250 non-alcoholic beverages. I had no idea there were so many options. Everything was well organized, which makes it easy to locate what spirit you are looking for. They also have snacks, cocktail syrups, bar ware, & gift items. I picked up some RTD (Ready to drink) cocktails for a friend and a Paloma for myself. It tasted good, and I used the rest in place of grapefruit soda in a cocktail. The RTDs are low calorie, which is also a plus. The shop hosts free tastings every Friday & Saturday and offers fun classes like candle making workshops. Follow them on IG for event updates. @burdenofproofna

Such a beautiful shop with the most wonderful owners. An incredible selection of non-alcoholic beers, wines, and cocktails plus local snacks and treats.

I came across Burden of Proof (BOP?!) on my way to dinner and immediately loved the cozy set up and curation of non alcoholic drinks and snacks. The owner (Obrianna or Obrieanna) was so thoughtful in providing suggestions and I could immediately tell that this shop was started with lots of intention and care. They host events like tastings which I'm excited to check out and hope that I can make it back here soon. The smoked olives were indeed the best olives I've had in my life!

Such an amazing concept for those who love the taste of alcohol but shouldn't drink the alcohol. The largest selection I've seen in NA (non alcoholic). What is special the owners specially hand select the drinks with the best ingredients. If you are on the fence there are samplings most Thursday- Sundays. Dean and Obrieanna are the kindest individuals. Support small business!

Bought this white and the same companies Red. My partner and I loved both .

What a relief to have not only a brick and mortar that's exploring NA beer , wine and spirits but the staff is lovely too! The owners are a married couple that are open, inviting and informed on their stock. HIGHLY recommend going there if you're sober, sober-curious, or just want to explore pairing with drinks that won't lead to hangover. They just opened so so support small businesses!

A lovely non alcoholic boutique , had such a nice experience trying new non alcoholic drinks. I'm obsessed with Aplos and Nooh rose. If you're in the area must stop by and try many of their refreshing drink selection.

We stoped by today because I saw a LAist article about Burden of Proof. We had a long talk with the one of the owners Dean about the various options and had tastes of many of them. My sons were so inspired that they came home and developed several NA cocktails with what we purchased. All of it was good, but my favorite was the Dromme mixed with some Fever Tree Ginger Beer with a fancy ice cube we had leftover from the holidays and everyone really liked the yuzu ginger non-alcoholic beer.

Went down with much excitement because I'm not much of a drinker. Wanted to purchase and learn of the offerings. However upon arrival nothing - No acknowledgement, wave, just nothing. I think at least from a customer experience standpoint the staff should consider speaking to ever patron who walks in. It makes for returning easy

This Thanksgiving week reminded me why I love Mission Wines, Chris, and the staff-- I was in a hurry and so I bought wine at Bristol Farms. It was a winery I'd bought before, I looked at the online ratings for the wine and seemed solid Got it home and meh. I said to myself -- next time I'm just letting Chris and his team pick my wines that way no mistakes or off years for me. With so many wineries -- no way I can keep up. Missions Wines is like a sommelier shop on that there is something excellent at each price point -- bottles under $20 will be terrific. And gift bottles will be special They are no adding high end spirits -- I bought a special Armenian brandy there for a friend that I could not find anywhere else Trust them to pick your wine unless you're an expert and your friends and family will think you've got the best taste ever!

We don't live too far from here my sister and I decided to stop in and check it out since it was fairly new to open up a couple of weeks ago. Decided to check it out and we got extremely lucky I was able to find a parking spot here. We typically go to the store on on Huntington and San Gabriel and sounds a little closer to home and thought that the parking would be a little bit easier here but we were dead wrong. I feel like the parking is a little bit worse and there's a lot more cars being able to come in from different directions so if felt more chaotic here for sure. The store is pretty big and it took over another supermarket chain location. But everything is pretty standard and felt pretty big here. What can always be expected are some great snacks and food items here at trader Joe's. It was fun buying something unique sounding and finding a new favorite item to buy. Are the big fan of the ostrich motif on the wall. South Pasadena used to do a lot of ostrich races back in the day or not even that far back. But it has strong ties to the community. So that's subtle nod the decor is pretty neat. I'll have to do research about other locations now that I know they do Easter eggs like this. The store seemed fairly big so it didn't seem too crowded and there was a lot of registers open. I feel like the biggest bottleneck could be finding parking but that's not a new thing for trader Joe's typically.
