Well it's better than McDonalds. Solid 2.5 star experience. Pros: -All natural soda machine -Parmesan tots are great. Napoleon Dynamite would be proud. -They use local food from local farms -Some unique flavors -Very good grilled cheese sandwich (has Parmesan on the outside) -Very cool atmosphere -parking is easy to find -it classes up the dump that Grand avenue normally is -the Oreo shake is good (big chunks of Oreo in the shake) -has an outdoor patio Cons: -you have to go to the counter to order -the chicken sandwich can come out overcooked and hard to eat. It came with a big chunk of green apple in the sandwich (weird) -the buns tend to fall apart on all sandwiches -they don't bring you silverware at the table -the place is way too small (can't swing a dead cat without hitting someone) -the Chorizo Diablo sandwich is not spicy or hot at all -no menu displayed for shake selection -elementary wood school seats that are uncomfortable -waiters and waitresses do the typical American "take your plate before you're finished" thing. Can be quite annoying. -sandwiches are very messy. You end up using A LOT of napkins -the Grand Ave road noise and pollution can be irritating why you eat -fresh fry portions are very large (could be a Pro) -they use 7-11 type slurpee straws with their shakes, so you are unable to finish your shake -they have automatic tipping after you order, and you feel obligated to tip (Rubio's doesn't do this) Overall it was ok. I would not plan to come here again unless friends or family wanted to go. 8/4/16 - Came back a second time - no tots, no lettuce, no ketchup. The water tasted like rusty pipes. Minus another star. Holy smokes - literally! Just rolled out of Burger Ranch in Escondido and I'm still thinking about that smoked burger. This place knows what they're doing, folks. Let me paint you a picture: I walked in hungry and indecisive (classic me), so I went with the smoked burger and couldn't choose between onion rings or sweet potato fries. Thank goodness they let you do half and half because life's too short for tough decisions like that! The smoked burger? Chef's kiss, The smoky flavor hit just right - not overpowering, but enough to make you close your eyes and do that little happy food dance. The ingredients were fresh, the patty was juicy, and everything just worked together like a perfectly choreographed burger symphony. And can we talk about those sides? The onion rings were crispy golden perfection - you know, the kind that actually stay crunchy instead of turning into sad, soggy circles. The sweet potato fries brought that perfect sweet contrast that made my taste buds do a little celebration. Bottom line: If you're in Escondido and your stomach starts rumbling, do yourself a favor and hit up Burger Ranch. I love this place and its only a few doors down from my work, but it seems they have hired some trouble. i wont give his name, but i will say maybe they need to drug test this young man, I'm not sure if he knows that there is a cop shop right next door, anyways i was on lunch break going to burger bench, i see this young man walk out the back door and he's walking my direction and he ask me if i have a light, i said sure no problem,and he lights a joint and says thanks, i chuckled a little and said your welcome, here is the part i have a problem with,i get about 5 steps away and he says "hey know were to get any shit" i replied excuse me, he says, any shit? you know, some white, i turned and kept walking and he says "well fuck you then oldman"it was all i had to not grab this little shit and hand him to the police,i get back to work and tell my boss and find out he had problems with the same kid, but he was trying to pickup on his daughter and gave her a note asking for her # and offering her drugs. review your employees burger bench. we will not return.... read more

Exceptional food have tried the classic burger the chicken sandwich and the chorizo burger all very tasty the chorizo one a bit spicy the tots are great and they have a wide selection of craft beers and craft Sodas...attentive staff...good ambiance and clean...seems like I love this place so why Just 4 stars??? My beef is with the prices I feel as if they go a little crazy with the prices I know they have to pay overhead and employees insurance etc but all the burgers start at $10 I never seem to spend less then $25 for myself alone for one meal just doesn't seem worth it for this type of restaurant maybe if it where all organic or made from Kobe beef it would seem fair...trying to stay away from This place as hard as it may be. I really want to like this place but the last few times we have ordered, our burgers were VERY undercooked... I generally like a medium rare burger but these were so rare and bloody that I had a hard time tasting anything but the raw patty. I thought it was a one-off mistake but now I see that this seems to be their standard cooking method. After seeing the other reviews, I am so nervous about getting sick like the others. After a few bites of the hamburger, I stuck to the fries and onion rings which were great. For the significance price, I don't think it's worth it, especially if you can't even eat it. read more

I took my Great Dane to Bench Burger to celebrate his 3rd birthday. Not only was the food incredible, the patio is dog friendly and so is the staff. The patio is also covered and had heaters so don't let a little drizzle stop you from enjoying a meal with man's best friend. After I ordered the delicious and perfectly cooked Bench Burger, the cashier gave me a bag of treats for my dog to enjoy. I am not easily impressed by food or establishments that say they are dog friendly, but Bench Burger earned five stars. It was our first visit, but it definitely won't be our last. read more

Best burgers ever! The Diablo is a must try for something a little spicy. The sunrise is just perfect. All burgers are so great. I would eat here everyday if I could. Salads are so nice. Really a great deal. And I love love the take on the crispy chicken sandwich. Flavors you would not expect that just work so great together. So much better than a breaded chicken sandwich. What a fun atmosphere. Found it just by driving down Grand and stopped in. Burgers sounder good. Oh, and they were. We got the 3 sliders. A chorizo, chicken and a mushroom. All were so yummy. Everything was absolutely amazing. Each staff member was friendly, attentive, and great at their job. Following all Covid safety precautions, masked and sanitizing everything. 8 years later and they are as good as ever, probably even better. I've had most things on the menu, even the salads, and everything is solid to great. I've taken every visitor from out of town here, family and friends alike, and everyone has come away happy. I don't even feel like a burger today and I feel like coming here. Pretty darn good burger spot! I wanted to try a few different options and opted for the sliders so, I could try the burgers and chicken. The smokehouse was where it was at, and I should have just ordered that burger from the get go, as the chicken was okay, but just a little dried out!
