Visited Cork and Craft with my mama tribe the Saturday before Mother's Day around 7pm and were honestly surprised we were able to snag reservations so easily last minute. The staff was very warm and welcoming, though throughout the evening it definitely felt like they may have been short staffed and stretched a bit thin. Since we were headed to a movie after dinner, we decided to keep things light and share appetizers plus dessert. We tried the Fried Shishito Peppers, Veggie Potstickers, Grilled Broccolini, Rosemary Garlic Fries, Whipped Burrata, Garlic Noodles, Salmon Poke Tacos, and Lamb Chops. Overall, the food was decent but nothing especially memorable. The lamb chops were cooked nicely but could have used more seasoning, and the poke tacos were tasty but tiny -- literally about the size of my pinky for each taco. We were disappointed they had sold out of both the Crème Brûlée Bread Pudding and the Budino, which were the desserts we originally wanted to try. Thankfully, the Butter Toffee Cake completely saved dessert for us -- absolutely delicious and easily the highlight of the meal. Their amazing small plates have been replaced by very pedestrian offerings and their craft beer is gone. There is just an ordinary limited wine and beer list; the cocktails are sake based. I need to update my review of my past visit here. My wife and I went back yesterday and it was awful. They did not have the beer that my wife wanted and the server said that they are not brewing anymore. I ordered the burger since it was so amazing a week or so ago. I have to say I was honestly not sure what to expect, after reading some of the reviews. It seemed they were very mixed. However this place was close to me and we decided to do a weekday lunch and give it a try. First off, parking is plentiful, and the restaurant is pretty spacious. It is in a bit of an odd area, like a business park where I did not expect there to be this restaurant. They have a patio, and the inside seems had 2 separate sections. The restaurant is open and spacious inside, and appears to be able to accommodate pretty large parties. We ordered the craft double double burger with bacon jam, special sauce on brioche and got chips on the side. It was a very good, juicy burger, and i definitely enjoyed it. The side of chips however we're not my favorite and they were a bit overcooked. I tried some of the tots from my friends plate and those were much better, so id recommend those over the chips. read more

The quick and dirty... 5 star service, 3.5 star food. Pulled up on a quiet Sunday just after opening. Got seated wherever we wanted immediately. Our server Gavin greeted us, took our drink order and gave us food menus. It was brunch time, there were lots of good looking options. Settled on the Corned Beef and Hash plate, Horseradish Crème Fraiche on the side. Food came pretty quick and was piping hot to my liking. Everything was cooked properly and tasted pretty good. I would have liked some additional flavor to the dish as it tasted under seasoned and the corned beef, while moist could have had more flavor. The Horseradish sauce was even pretty tame, potentially to be approachable to more palates. The beers we had were great, a fresh Barrel Aged Stout, a milk stout and a really fresh IPA. Place is definitely worth visiting for the beers alone. The real star of the show was Gavin. Showed us a really great time, spoke to us about the beers and the menus and was very attentive. Food was delicious per usual and I tried a new menu item which was the birria dirty fries. It's loaded with braised birria, three cheeses, chipotle aioli, pickled red onions, and an egg on top. Birthday dinner for my cousin on a Saturday night with reservations for a group of 7. My first visit, my family have been here before. We were sat on their patio at wet tables. The host apologize for the tables being wet, but didn't go grab a towel and dry them off. Someone else came over to drop off menus on the wet tables. My aunt ended up dry off the table with her napkin. Our friendly server came over greeted us and took our beer and appetizer orders. Service declined and was nonexistent after that. Glasses, water pitcher, stack of plates and utensils were again dropped off at the end of the table for us to distribute and serve ourselves. I found that rather odd. Beers were served within 10 minutes. Appetizers followed. No serving utensils. It was a drop off and disappear act. We polished off the appetizers, stacked our dirty dishes at the end of the table to be cleared. Waited, waited and waited for our server to come back to take our dinner order. He never returned, so we flagged another server to ask if we could place our order. She gladly took our order. After we placed our dinner order, our server came over confirmed the order was sent to the kitchen and apologized for the wait. We requested more water, he refilled the pitcher and plopped it at the end of the table. Our meals came out pretty quickly so at least the kitchen was on top of it! Food, beers and music were good, service was subpar. My cousins said this unlike them, so maybe they were short staffed. What really rubbed me the wrong way was the automatic 20% gratuity charge for large groups. I have no qualms about it if service was attentive and great. I found it offensive having to pay 20% gratuity after having to wipe down the table, pour and refill our own water and distribute plates and utensils, and the long wait to order our meals. I popped into the restroom first, I had a 3 hour to get here. It was a disaster, looked like no one had been in there to check all night. Hoping it was just an off night for them. Met with my girlfriends for lunch. Food was good! My favorites were the garlic noodles and Italian meatballs while my friends liked the dirty fries and Brussel sprouts. Cork and Craft is in an unassuming business park by Escondido but the inside is super cute and giving a trendy brewery vibe. The hostess stand is kind of hidden from the rest of the restaurant so it took a while for someone to seat us, but once they did our server was very helpful. We stopped by during their happy hour and the wings were included for $1 a piece. They had salt and pepper wings but we requested buffalo and they accommodated. We've been to The Cork & Craft a number of times and have consistently had a nice experience as a two-person table, including a recent Restaurant Week 2025 visit. First course was Scallop aguachile -- a standout. The scallop was fresh and tender, sitting in a bright, tangy broth with a little chile warmth and great balance. If this isn't on the regular menu, it should be. Second course was Steak Oscar (5-oz filet mignon with asparagus) -- presentation is simple and the flavor was great. Cooked as ordered and well-seasoned. It was basic but it was classic and satisfying. Dessert was Butter Toffee Cake -- warm, saucy, and fairly delicious. Also, inside is warm and inviting and the craft beers always deliver I've noticed some other mixed reviews online, and maybe larger parties see different dynamics, but our experiences have been consistently smooth. A disappointing experience. My sister had just gotten married, so we were in the area and decided to try this spot after seeing the great menu and strong Yelp reviews. We came with a large group of about 10 people and were seated outside. Things started off rocky. After we ordered drinks, a few were forgotten, and when we politely brought it up, one of the servers gave us a snarky response and seemed visibly annoyed. For food, I ordered the garlic noodles, whipped burrata (which was supposed to come with plantain chips), and Brussels sprouts. The garlic noodles were fantastic, definitely the highlight of the meal. However, the burrata came with bread instead of plantains, which was disappointing but not a deal-breaker. The real issue was with my cousin's dishes. One friend ordered the ribeye, and my pregnant cousin ordered a filet. The ribeye looked and tasted as if it had been reheated in a microwave... far from what you'd expect for the price. Worse, my cousin's steak was served practically raw. We sent it back, but the replacement was still even more undercooked. At that point, she gave up and sent it back and we decided to order her garlic noodles at least. While the chef came by to comp the steak, it felt like the least they could have done was also comp the noodles, considering she couldn't eat her entree Overall, the service was unpleasant, the food inconsistent, and the attitude from the staff made an already frustrating experience worse. The Cork & Craft is the ONLY winery/ brewery combo spot in San Diego. They are located in Rancho Bernardo and offer lunch/dinner and brunch on Sundays. I went here on a girls brunch and we enjoyed mimosas and our favorite food items was the Steak & Egg Situation, and the tater tots (absolutely addictive)! My suggestion for your food order is to get the Steak & Egg Situation, but substitute the potatoes for tots (they named it correct, crispy potatoes, but you needed a sauce to eat them), and just a heads up that the Huevos Not-So-Rancheros was on the smaller portion. Gavin was our server and he was super helpful, friendly, and really made it feel like the above and beyond experience that made us want to stay longer. I did wish our hash had more peppers and onions, and when I mentioned it Gavin said he'd relay that to the kitchen so they could look at making some of that change. But I do know not everyone always wants to load up on veggies like I do. Indoor and outdoor seating available, so you can get whatever vibe you want there. You can see the care the Chefs put into preparing the food. Staff work as a team. The hostess was bussing tables and accidentally dropped glasses in the back while Anthony was towel drying dishes, he immediately went to help her. Indifferent: Anthony really talked up the Chicken Sandwich and Burger. My boyfriend ordered the Chicken. He said it was, ok, but liked my burger better. Cons: The 4% Surcharge is RIDICULOUS ! If it was stated in the 'fine print', it is sneaky and untransparent. I guess 'if I see it, I usually assume it's the disclaimer for pregnant women to not eat undercooked fish, etc.' Although we still tipped cash, I would much prefer those monies to go to the working staff. I read all the reviews before coming and I was a little nervous because the reviews were either really bad or really good in regards to service. It seemed to be hit or miss. We came to celebrate my birthday, party of 9 with our fur baby and sat in the patio which I reserved for. Well we were pleasantly surprised! Maybe because we came on a Tuesday night and it wasn't busy but regardless we had no complaints. The patio was clean and we had it all to ourselves. Service was excellent! Darielle, if I'm spelling her name correctly, sat us right away and quickly set up our table outside as she didn't realize we had our fur baby and was going to sit us inside. Ethan our server was great, pleasant and on it! Darielle came out with water within minutes of being seated. Ethan took our drink orders right away and what impressed us most was the food came out super fast!!! On top of that, the food was good. I wouldn't say amazing but good that we were all satisfied. Everyone raved about the garlic noodles and butter cake in their reviews so had to try it, they weren't wrong. We all enjoyed it as well. The inside is really pretty. Great casual ambiance. We were in San Diego for a wedding and we went to dinner with a bunch of family members, only to be met with rude service, missing drinks, missing food, and TWO completely raw steaks served to one of our guests, even after we mentioned she was pregnant and we would appreciate the steak being cooked a bit more. Outside of the primarily poor food and service experience, the ambiance and atmosphere of the place seemed pretty inviting and fun. Our server recommended a special habanero roll, and my friend ordered the Hawaii rolls--both were excellent. Our server started off great--friendly and with a good vibe--but as the evening went on, things slowed down noticeably. The host was not very attentive; we had to ask multiple times for items, and drinks were delayed until our server eventually followed up. It felt like no one else was stepping in to help. There were also a few mix-ups. We ordered crème brûlée and cheesecake, but were mistakenly given bread pudding that belonged to another table. It took about 20 minutes for the server to return and let us know about the error. While it wasn't added to our bill, there wasn't much effort made to make up for the inconvenience. I also ordered another glass of wine that never arrived--though, to be fair, I wasn't charged for it. Toward the end of the night, service became even more inconsistent. We were ready to pay, but the server disappeared for a while, and when he finally took our card, he seemed distracted and took extra time chatting with another table. No one at the host stand - waited for 10 minutes for someone to appear and when I asked at the bar they told me to "just go wait of there someone will come." And you would think with a name like "cork and craft" they would have fairly extensive beer and wine selections...let me tell you they do not. The only reason this review is not one star is that the kitchen was fast - once we ordered food was at our table in 10 minutes. Food was "fine" nothing special. Portions were small for the price. I'm not sure who these people are raving about the sushi - these were the tiniest rolls I have ever seen. I ordered 2 which is normally more than I can eat and let me tell you I could have ordered 4. The classic rolls were about the width of a quarter and the special rolls were maybe an inch and a half wide. I frequent 3 family run sushi places and portions and quality of fish were way better than this. You are better off at Harney Sushi in Poway for the same price! Also, its July, 85 degrees out, and they did not have the AC on. We left as fast as we could and headed to Phil's BBQ which had a better wine selection ($8 a glass vs $14!) a full bar, and AC. I will definitely say this restaurant is on the pricier side and and the portions probably don't match the prices, however, the quality of food is great. We took our time at dinner and started off with drinks, I got a glass of the Sav Blanc and really liked it. For my entrée, I got the Caesar salad and added on chicken. I honestly thought the salad was great and loved the homemade croutons. However, it was a relatively small salad and quite expensive for the serving size. The bowl also was too small that when we tried to cut the chicken that was on top, it kept falling out of the bowl and was not easy to toss. The portion was also small and more similar to what I would consider a side salad than an entire entrée, so we ended up being pretty hungry a few hours later. I definitely had hoped for a bit more food but it tasted delicious. The server was attentive and the restaurant was very cute. Overall, I really liked it however, I do think that all the entrées we got were relatively small for how much they cost. It has a big parking lot and is located in an office center so it was easy to find parking on a Friday night. read more

It's a nice visual break if you're working in a bright, modern or plain office. What I noticed when I first walked in was the smell of fresh baked bread. Yum! The servers were very helpful and friendly, a lovely combo. We ordered food to share. The artichoke dip was amazing, fresh artichoke hearts, not swimming in mayo. The meatballs were huge and had a great flavor of a blend of proteins. The mussels Rockefeller were gorgeous, plump, and even had a hint of salt water. Surprisingly Great Experience We searched for a new restaurant to try and this popped up on yelp as a nearby restaurant. The restaurant is in a business-like center and the door doesn't even look like the entrance to a restaurant in my opinion. There's a beautiful outdoor seating area with lights all around. There's a gorgeous chandelier in the center of the restaurant. It was cool to see the beer kegs in the open kitchen and barrels along the wall. It was Not cool to see the insulation fluffy stuff on the ceiling. I assume the ceiling is under construction? Other than that the lights are so beautiful inside and outside of this place- including the restroom. I ordered the seafood roll. There was wayy more bread than seafood, the crunch from the bread and the smooth and cool seafood is a delicious balance ! There's a slight kick to the seafood that adds the perfect flavor ! I love that the chef was generous with the amount of crab used on this roll. Although the bread is seriously crunchy it could cut your mouth type of crunchy. They include a small cup of butter that when poured over the bread it softens and adds a yummy flavor for the roll. The Brussels sprouts !!! Oh my goodness best Brussels sprouts I've ever had. There's this sweet yummy sauce drizzled over it that is EVERYTHING. Another server nearby Gavin suggested we try the Brussels Sprouts with the sauce from the mussels and he was freaking Genius!! There is this creamy salty sweet deliciousness that happens with the two collide. So good! I could eat a whole bowl of just that! Mussels were perfect. Our amazing server Kristen offered to get my daughter a kids Mac & cheese since she couldn't decide on what to order from the kids menu. Kristen remained friendly, patient and considerate. And the Mac and cheese was so satisfying. I am not a fan of the dessert. Although Kristen couldn't find a dessert menu she described what they offered and how they were prepared. We chose the crème brûlée. At first sight it looks delicious but when you scoop -it tastes as if it needs more time to cook. It honestly reminds me of flan instead of crème brûlée so it just wasn't my vibe. I love the focused attention, kindness and helpfulness of the staff.
