It was a very nice building with wooden tables and soft booths with them, some of them with standard cushioned chairs! The waitress was very kind, patient, and helpful with her suggestions as well! My absolute favorite thing about Burger Hut is the customization options. Not only can you choose between multiple types of burgers/meats/patties & cheeses, but you get to build it yourself when it comes off the grill! I love adding as many condiment and topping combinations as I please - sans judgement for my mountain of pickles under my patty. You know what? You can even customize your drinks! At the burger hut soda fountain, you're free to choose between multiple flavored syrups to spice up your soft drinks. Fun place to go, has indoor seating as well as an outdoor patio! Used to be so good! But now...now it's just bad. First, it's expensive. Three combos and an extra basket of tots was $67! That's crazy. Second, two of our combos came with salad. The salad bar wasn't stocked, the food wasn't to temp. Third, the place is HOT inside. Fourth, the burgers are awful. Like AWFUL. McDonald's has better seasoned burgers than we got here. This has been my go to Burger joint since they opened way back in the day on Highway 32. It's not overdone, it's just a wonderful basic burger with delicious fries. I love Burger Hut! My husband and I have been enjoying this restaurant as long as I can remember. My last experience with customer service was not great though. I came in at 6:45p and was promptly informed that they closed at 7, so I better only have a to-go order. I waited maybe 8 min and someone else walked out and asked if they could help me. I said I was waiting for my order. Nothing happened. I waited and ended up canceling my order because it did not seem like they cared about it. First, I want to say that I generally like Burger Hut burgers. They have a lot of options and you can generally get a burger made the way you want. Its the reason why up until today, I was a frequent customer at Burger Hut. Not anymore. Today, I went into Burger Hut, customized my burger, fries, and I ordered to go. It was one burger, one order of sweet potato fries, and a large drink. That's it. I went and sat down in the booth and waited for the order to be complete. I waited and waited and waited. I watched as other customers who came in after me get their food, so I went to check. They hadn't even started my food and I had been waiting for an hour. An hour for a burger and fries. So after talking to the cooks, I requested a refund. At that point a red goblin (I say red because his hair was red, I say goblin because he was short) took my order from the grill and went to the cash register. He got upset with me because I spoke to him in a way that exhibited my annoyance (not a raised voice, no swearing, but definitely annoyed) and he told me that I couldn't speak that way in front of customers. What?! I think customers deserve to know if you are going to take an hour making their food. The red goblin apologized, but it wasn't a sincere apology. Just some empty platitude. I demanded my refund and he acted like I didn't have a right to it. They hadn't started making my food, they hadn't really served me, I had a right to my money since they were taking so long. All this to say, I will not go back to that Burger Hut. I might try the one on the other side of town, but the red goblin and this burger hut showed that they were a joke as far as customer service. I'm wondering if the Forest Ave & Cohasset have different owners?The last 2 times we have gotten delivery from the Cohasset location our orders were incomplete and not good. We asked for a manager to call and never received the call. I emailed as well with no response. The fries were really greasy and all of our burgers were bare(only meat, cheese, bread). If the manager doesn't not care for the customers it's not a surprise the employees don't either. Forest Ave location is a 5 star. I will only go there from now on. I went to Burger Hut on Sunday for dinner their service has always been good. However better sanitary conditions should be done here. As I am waiting in line to order. I watched a man walk up. And hand the guy handling food the restroom key. This young man took the key and continued to handle food. Without discarding the gloves that he just handled to restroom key with. One of Chico's best burgers. Burger Hut is a Chico staple and I remember when this particular location was erected. It's in a strip mall near the airport on the north-most end of town. There's a decent parking lot and the restaurant itself is quite airy with its lofted ceilings. I like the unique configuration where you, the customer, decide exactly which toppings to outfit your burger with. Extra pickles? Sure. Exactly three tomatoes? Okay. No lettuce? No problem. It's up to you, and you get to add what you want. I enjoy this. They have a number of special items on the menu but I always veer toward their regular burger combo. The fries have a great seasoning and the perfect crisp. They also do an awesome milkshake. There's a nice street-side patio which is an enjoyable place to eat your meal as the traffic goes by. Pricing is a little high, but you are supporting a local business. A solid contender if you are in the market for a nice burger. read more

Came here this past week while visiting our business and dropping off some donations. Saw this place on the way and wanted to eat here because we had one right by our house in Roseville. This place is tucked away in a small strip mall on the outskirt of Chico, Ca. Inside pretty good sized restaurant with nice patio seating as well, but based on the smoke no one was eating outside. Inside pretty packed but found a place to sit. This is a walk up and order burger joint and then find a place to sit. I ordered their double, triple burger which is a double patty of meat, Double cheese and triple bacon. I also ordered it protein style as well and a side salad. The surprise here was the side salad is actually a trip to their salad bar which was stocked full of great choices. After a short wait our burgers where ready at the counter then you can dress it how ever you want with lots of great choices as well. What I really like is how fresh everything was. The sliced tomatoes where so fresh and had such great taste. Plus they also have every type of condiment from ketchup, mustard, their own secret sauce which I highly recommend plus all the other regulars. The burger was good but a bit of a little downer. It was way over done and they really don't know how to properly lettuce wrap a burger. Still was pretty good and I was starving so this was all about getting some food in the belly. What did it for me and kept them at a 3 star is the exceptional customer service. All of the employees were super friendly and made all the customers feel very welcome. I would for sure give it another try and see if they could improve the quality of the cooking of the burger. They for sure have the customer service down now focus on the food quality. read more

Lastly, my boyfriend had to upgrade to a half order to get the garlic fries--which according to the red head is enough for two people (lies)--because the basket looked smaller than other customers side order of fries....If my boyfriend hadn't been so hungry I would have asked the lack luster staff what the deal is. The meal + TIP was a little over $24.00. Not going to be coming back again...when I get two burger meals at IN N' OUT for $16...or go to burger king for $14 where the post-meal grease headache is forgivable and the food is still better! I use to hate Burger Hut. I'm usually not a fan of build your own food places. And after years of my husband trying to convince me otherwise, I finally gave it another shot. It's pretty basic on what you can add on the build your own burger bar, but they do have plenty of meat options for burgers. They also have pretty good sweet potato fries. Wanted it to be better, and in some ways it was, but other ways it was worse. Customer service was much friendlier, but the line was out the door and only one girl was taking orders while others were in the back doing...? The food was excellent tasting, as usual, with the usual mixed up cheese. Idk how such a simple oder can get messed up EVERY time, but I've just come to accept it. Cheddar is totally the same as provolone anyways, right? Worst offense, and the reason for the update: the smoke. Good lord, the smoke. The ventilation needs to be fixed ASAP. It was so bad that literally the entire seated customer base inside got up and reseated themselves outside due to the actual difficulty breathing. As a pregnant patron, this is absolutely unacceptable, for me. I'm fairly certain the mom of 4 littles who all ran outside choking would agree. Only reason this isn't a 1 (or 0) star review is that the burgers, no matter how messed up, continue to still be delicious and the staff seems to be working on positive vibes.
