The proteins were a huge disappointment - the diced chicken chunks and the shrimp were dry and chewy and didn't have much flavor. The chicken is supposed to be the signature item for this restaurant any yet it was like chewing day old, reheated meat. I didn't finish eating this slop. I had the combo meal with the chips and the cost was $17. I also had two chicken avocado tacos. The chicken was somewhat tender but was very bland, just like the chicken from the tostada. One taco was extremely spicy but the other was not and I don't know what could have been in the first one to make it that way. Both tacos looked identical. There was one skinny avocado slice per taco. They cost over $3 each and I'd say they're worth less than the foil they were wrapped in. My total was about $25 with tax and needless to say, I will not be back for another visit.

Went in and sat down inside and was pleasantly surprised by the interior. It definitely had more of an upscale bar vibe to it than a Taco shop. The waiter that brought out my tacos told me that it turns into more of a nightclub after hours. I may have to go check that out. The tacos themselves were absolutely off the chain! The tortillas were blue corn and everything on it tasted so fresh and so wonderful. The carnitas was fantastic, the brisket Taco was to die for and the blackened shrimp Taco was one of the best I've ever had. Had. The flavors were so balanced and on point, it was one of the most satisfying taco experiences I have had!! I will probably hit this place up a couple more times before I leave El Paso. If you are in El Paso, you probably already know about this place. But I'm telling you what you cannot go wrong for tacos and that lime/ cucumber fresca! Bottom line? We had ordered, paid, and just sat down when a woman came in through the door after just burning weird incense or something, which I believe also had caught her jacket on fire. She was standing outside the doors closest to the register and had a ton of smoke coming off of her/around her. Not kidding, it looked like a small fire. Not a vape, or a cigarette, like a literal small fire amount of smoke. She then walked past the registers, and brought a TERRIBLE burnt smell in with her, walked straight into the bathrooms carrying an umbrella, bags, etc, and after about 10 minutes exited the bathrooms. She began pointing her umbrella side to side, saying things that were hard to make sense of and then left. About 15 minutes later she came back inside and came and sat right behind me, my husband, and our infant. I immediately got up, went and told the staff, and asked for a manager just so this could get taken care of as there were other CHILDREN inside the Canes. She started yelling and talking to herself, and pulled out a big bottle of pills started taking them right there on a table that families are supposed to be eating at. My husband witnessed this as he was trying to box up our food to go. I don't know what happened, but I'm typing this review as I sit in the parking lot with the food that I ordered. And I haven't seen her exit yet. The manager was just standing there, tables away as we exited and we didn't actually see him go approach her. I'll update my review if this gets resolved in any way, but I don't feel like I was taken seriously on this matter. Rather that I was just trying to complain which wasn't my intention. It was for the safety of not only myself and my family, but the other people there. You cannot allow people to come and do drugs at a table where there are children just feet away. If I saw her, I know others did. And I just don't appreciate that it wasn't handled before I had to go to the counter and say something. And honestly I'm unsure if it was handled at all. As an establishment you have an obligation to make your customers feel comfortable and safe, and I feel like that was not a priority today. $40 down the drain for some BS experience. So it was obvious that no one actually took us seriously or made her leave for the safety of anyone inside. Today, Monday, December 22, I got in contact with Cane's customer service and I was given 3 vouchers for box combos. The customer service representative was extremely helpful and nice, and I do appreciate the concern that was expressed over the phone, I just still wish the entire experience wouldn't have occurred. It caused me to get upset at the table and not even want to continue eating before she came in the second time. What was supposed to be a relaxing lunch out with my husband turned out to be anything but. I also didn't appreciate the laughs and snickers behind the counter from most of the staff. So yes-- I got my money back from yesterday in the form of vouchers, and customer service is forwarding this to a different higher up team, but it honestly shouldn't have even had to get that far yesterday. Their food is great, don't get me wrong. I love cane's. The service is always friendly there at this location, and the chicken is cooked to where it's perfectly crispy. 10/10 on all of that. No complaints there. But I'm not sure I can go back to this location after that. My husband made a great point yesterday.
