I haven't been to an El Pollo Loco in ages and I had no idea there was one in El Paso. I went here last night and I really wish I went somewhere else. I had the Baja chicken & shrimp tostada and it was mostly rice and beans. There was very little of the lettuce, salsa, cheese, and avocado. I think there was one clump of sour cream mixed in there somewhere. The thin tostada "shell" tasted like a fried wonton skin and it was so greasy. The proteins were a huge disappointment - the diced chicken chunks and the shrimp were dry and chewy and didn't have much flavor. The chicken is supposed to be the signature item for this restaurant any yet it was like chewing day old, reheated meat. I didn't finish eating this slop. I had the combo meal with the chips and the cost was $17. I also had two chicken avocado tacos. The chicken was somewhat tender but was very bland, just like the chicken from the tostada. One taco was extremely spicy but the other was not and I don't know what could have been in the first one to make it that way. Both tacos looked identical. There was one skinny avocado slice per taco. They cost over $3 each and I'd say they're worth less than the foil they were wrapped in. My total was about $25 with tax and needless to say, I will not be back for another visit. read more

I received an invite for the soft opening and two hours after opening it was already packed. I was greeted and helped with ordering and spoke to several workers and management who were very welcoming. The smell of the food will encourage you to place your order immediately. It's great this chain is opening here since there are similar stores in California and several other locations. As people from LA arrive here, they are excited to see El Polo Loco here. The restaurant has several tables which is enough for about 40 people. Another store may open up in New Mexico but don't quote me on that. Come check it out. The store is located close to McDonald's and it was were KFC was previously located. The official grand opening is on October 24. read more

Employees clueless about what they're doing but the main problem here is the mana Fayes!! 2 days ago I went in and order a 3 pc meal, it took over 30 min to get it! Kathy and Adam were clueless, Faye went up and instead of handling business he just pointed at the screen with all the red orders and complain to them instead of stepping up! I told him that him as a manager should've done it (I worked for almost 15 yrs in California) and his response was "I'm doing the hard work cutting chicken" when I told him he should be taking care of customers he just rolled his eyes and hands with a smirk in his face!! Restaurant was so dirty I had to clean my table, floor and restrooms were dirty as well! Totally unacceptable! The only person that stepped up was Alfredo, nice guy and polite! Kudos to him! We went to pollo loco last Wednesday for the first time pickup ... first time and I think last time!!! We get sick some bacteria sick and feeling terrible Salad was almost sour and old, tortillas the worst,, no salsa, come on ! I'm from CA so I was so happy to have El Pollo loco open here. When they first opened it was delicious! Chicken was perfect. The last two times I visited, the chicken was really dry. To the point I had to drink every bite to get it down. I only get the salads now which takes care of the craving because the chicken in the salad is really tasty. If you visit, be sure to visit at peak times when the food is moving. I feel they cook the chicken way ahead of time and sits under a dehydrating warmer and dont pay attention to how long it sits there. So if I go between lunch and dinner I only get a salad. The salad with the tortilla bowl with extra avocado is my favorite although I don't feel the addition of avocado is worth the price. Service is ok. I can stand there for awhile before I get acknowledged. I order thru the app. I'm all about rewards. Ambiance is typical fast food and looks nice because it's new. read more

The last time I had El Pollo Loco was 7 years ago in Cali. I definitely missed a good chicken meal. Unfortunately our first time at this brand new establishment was less than exciting. I paid $14 for a 4 piece meal and got two tiny, over cooked wings. The side of rice and beans were way too small for a 4 piece meal. I guess they could do better. The cheese quesadilla was also burnt. Sucks that they just opened this new restaurant. The ONLY El Pollo Loco here in El Paso and they are doing such a sorry job. Come on guys!!! I ordered a 2 piece chicken meal for myself and a chicken tostada bowl for my wife. And a side of churros. The churros tasted freezer burnt and they were soaked in fryer oil. The 2 piece chicken I got with the side of rice was mediocre at best. The rice had the aluminum flavor reminiscent of uncle Ben's microwaved rice, the chicken was okay. Nothing to write home about. My wife's bowl was advertised with cilantro and sour cream. It didn't have any cilantro and it had a pinch of sour cream. I had to go ask the kitchen staff for more sour cream. Guys.. I wanted to like this place because I love pollo loco... but it was a disappointment. The food doesn't have any flavor, the rice was dry and the cup was not even full. The chicken was not good. The salsas don't even taste like they should.. and they forgot my tortillas... :/ the people seem overwhelmed. Please get someone in to help. read more

I came here 3 times since they opened up and it was fresh and delicious every time. I ordered the chicken tostada and the 3 piece meal with sides of beans and rice and macaroni and cheese and a side salad. The chicken is juicy the food is fresh and the prices are reasonable. Its a healthier option than most fast food places and I recommend it to everyone. read more

I have not been to an El Pollo Loco in 16 years. This particular establishment gave the best service when placing my order going far and beyond my expectations. The management obviously did a great job in choosing there front line workers. It's people like this who care for the customer as if this was his own establishment. This is where management should recognize and invest to make managerial investments. Will definitely spread the word. Oh the food was amazing too read more

My wife and I went to this place on October 17. The first thing we noticed was how smoky the place was due to the lack of ventilation in their kitchen. They had to open the front doors to help vent out the smoke. The staff was friendly. We ordered a four piece meal with rice and salads. We found the chicken pieces were extremely small and dry. The taste of the chicken was not what we used to from other El Pollo Loco restaurant. We have eaten at a lot of El Pollo Loco restaurants in other parts of the country, but this place was really a disappointment.
