Even though the space is on the smaller side, it didn't feel cramped at all and had a nice, comfortable flow. We ordered the takoyaki and the sushi and sashimi moriwase. The takoyaki was perfectly done, it was crispy on the outside, soft and creamy inside, and full of flavour. The sashimi was incredibly fresh, clean-tasting, and naturally sweet. You can tell the quality of the fish is there. Would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!

The restaurant gave me pub vibes and was somewhat dark. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We sat near the window where there was a large tv on the wall that was showing a video of a walk around of what one can only assume, is Japan(?). Wherever it was, it was captivating to watch. After perusing their extensive menu, we opted for the Salmon Combo and the Orangeville roll. Both were excellent and presented beautifully. Since we've been here multiple times already, we're familiar with what cuts of meat we like and no longer have to get their beef meat platter. Also love that they currently have new BBQ dishes that are so good! Lemongrass Dai style beef plate 100/5 - LOVED this. This new BBQ dish was so packed with flavour and has the perfect beef marbling. So good we got this twice! Original Wang Galbi 5/5 - Delicious galbi with bone still on. Garlic Beef Plate 5/5 Sweet Soy Beef Plate 5/5 Qiquihar Special Meat 5/5 - Dish comes with cilantro, green onion and onion. Cold Noodle Soup 5/5 - This is a must get since it's so refreshing with all the BBQ meats. I've been here a few times now, and definitely join the online waitlist before you go, especially for dinner or on weekends. It gets very busy, and since there's no time limit for tables, the wait can be quite long if you don't reserve or join the queue ahead of time. This visit was with a party of five on a weekday, and luckily we were able to book a same-day reservation. The menu has a great variety of beef, pork, seafood, and vegetables for grilling. Our favourites of the night were definitely the Lemongrass Dai Style Beef Plate and the Aromatic Wood Pepper Beef--both were well seasoned and flavourful. We were also celebrating a birthday, so we ordered their birthday meat "cake" ($36.99). It was such a creative idea! It was a layer of thinly sliced beef, with pork jowl arranged on top to look like a flower. Definitely a fun surprise for anyone celebrating. There was also a complimentary sauce bar with plenty of dipping sauces, seasonings, and garnishes. If you have a peanut allergy, though, be sure to check the labels, as some of the house seasonings contain peanuts!! They offer self serve and refillable potato chips, shrimp chips, and fresh tangerines. At the end, everyone gets a marshmallow to roast over the charcoal grill, which was such a fun touch, followed by your choice of a popsicle. You can choose from Melona, a milk ice bar, or a black sesame ice bar (black sesame was the favourite at our table!) Their drink selection is also worth checking out. They carry a lot of unique Asian beverages that you don't often see elsewhere. Raw marinated crab - warning: this is a super messy dish! You get plastic gloves to help keep your hands relatively clean. We got the half spicy and half regular. The regular soy flavor helped to accentuate the natural fresh flavor of the raw crab. The spicy version has a really nice heat that grows over time. It was nice to have both options. The texture is something to get accustomed to but the crab pairs well on a bowl of rice. The beef stew we got was the seolleungtang. The broth was delicious, light yet flavorful. The beef was super tender and the sauce that came with it also pairs well. Noodles inside and nice and soft. Banchans were also great. The mashed potatoes was smooth, silky, and had a nice sweetness. Radish was spicy and acidic to cut the main dishes. Kimchi was crunchy and spicy with good acidity. Finally, the japchae was freshly made, noodles were good texture, nice hint of black pepper. But oh so delicious, and it came with a small side of broth which was extremely comforting. They had a bulgogi bibimbap, which was made of pork instead of beef, and it was really lovely. Great flavours, lots of veggies, and well cooked meat. The banchans are refillable which I loved seeing. There were four when we visited and I'm not sure if it rotates. We also received a free appetizer of gyoza which was really lovely. I like the ponzu sauce that came with it. Super bright and a great contrast to the meaty flavours. Definitely would love to come back again for a comfy, simple meal. Just have to make a reservation or come early. The parking is also a bit crazy cause of the nearby eateries. There's a small parking lot plus a handful of spaces out front. You can actually usually park in the underground parking as well and I think it's free for the first bit.
