This Burger King is one of the two closest to where I live and typically this one is a spot my wife and I will visit late night after a concert in downtown Portland. Our recent visit the drive thru is done by Ai which I do think is unfortunate. I'm sure you could request a human and will get one if it messes up enough. Besides the Ai, the workers were friendly once we got up to the window. Sometimes this location has been out of certain items which can be frustrating. They do typically get the orders correct at least for our visits. Sometimes it does take awhile but I suspect this is due to the late night nature of our visits. And despite the long waits our last visit here the fries came out piping hot which was perfect! For a Burger King it's a decent enough location. read more

Usually I like BK over McD's but this location is way below standard. I've been at least three times, each time hoping to get a delicious burger but have always been really quite disappointed. I urge whomever is in charge of this location to raise your standards because this is certainly a far cry from what the average BK tastes like. I'd give this a -10 review if I could. Always had good luck at this Burger King until today. Stopped to order my meal and then I ordered a small onion ring as well. The woman on the headset was having a hard time hearing me so I repeated it once she said, sir I can't hear you please ask again. I repeated it a second time and she said sir I still can't hear you. Can you repeat it so I rolled my window down further and said very slow slowly, and clearly I would like a small onion ring. Well, this pissed her off for some reason she thought I was being a wise ass and muttered something under her breath, followed up by God forbid. When I called her out on it when I picked up the food, she was a total bitch. I've no idea what her problem was, but she should find another fucking job. So I get it, fast food... Burger King. Everyone probably automatically thinks gross but you know what? This place works for a quick dinner or lunch and always available for a milkshakes anytime of the day! Maybe not the best looking of food in the pictures but it's not bad all. The onion rings are always really good and I love their BBQ sauce! Yesterday my husband and I stopped to order Burger King for dinner on our way home. It was later in the evening. Nicholas took our order and he was just so kind and friendly. He reminded me so much of life in the South with the southern hospitality. He even said "hello" to us as we were waiting in the drive through for our food. We have been here a few times and the customer service isn't bad but it has never been this delightful! Wonderful 'drive thru' experience! The nice energetic woman at the window greeted us with a hearty 'Welcome to Burger King - where we rule! And how are you 2 young ladies? (I am NOT young but loved this) After she nicely gave us our order, she quickly said - 'Wait just a second - I have something for you - and gave me and my 33 year old daughter ... paper crowns, one already constructed so I could put it on! As I had just completed 20 weeks of chemotherapy and had a turban on due to hair loss, this entire interaction was such a treat. Whoever you are, nice lady - you made me smile - and feel 'seen' too. For those of you who complain of no late night food, 24 HOUR DRIVE THROUGH right here!! Honestly though, I wouldn't ever suggest fast food to anyone unless you're REALLY STARVING or if you spent too much $$ for the month and it's time for some cutbacks. BK ran a free satisfries promotion this weekend and I picked up a small in the drive through. They were super soft and fluffy on the inside, however the outside varied in % covered by salt and oiliness. Yikes! I've never been inside so I can't really judge based on that, but I've had pleasant experiences while zooming through in my car. Coupons tend to come regularly in the mail too. :) read more

Ok so I'm not the hugest fan of fast food chains, but Burger King does do some things right: 1. They serve ICEEs. I love ICEEs even though they are a diabetes death wish. 2. They sell delicious, soft chocolate chip cookies. And they are cheap. I'm talking 2 for a buck and they melt in your mouth. 3. Their Satisfries are pretty satisFRYing. Yes, eating them makes me feel better even though they are only 20% fewer in calories. Yes, they are still bad for you. Their trick is using a different batter that doesn't absorb as much oil. Plus, they use more salt (which has 0 calories) to help with the tastiness. Tricky, eh? Using more salt is a great way to get people to buy your products... and help them get hypertension in the process lol. 4. They SELL DEELISH MORNINGSTAR BURGERS! This is great news for us veggies! McDonald's and Wendy's does not look out for their veggies like BK does. You might argue that Wendy's serves baked potatoes, but last I heard they do not serve a veggie patty... BIG difference. 5. What do you do at 3:30 in the morning when your stomach is grumbling? You go to Burger King, because this is one of the few places in Portland that is open 24/7. I give them major props for this! Why only 4 stars? One problem I experienced a couple months ago was that I ordered chocolate chip cookies in the drive-thru and realized too late that they were missing in my bag! Not a HUGE deal, but you can imagine my face of terror when I finally comprehended the fact that I was too far to turn back and get mah cookies! Overall, I can't complain too much about BK. They give it to me my way. ;) P.S. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for BK's mailers! I have visited this location for years, mostly in the late evening or at night. My last dozen experiences have been terrible. Tonight there was a huge line and when I got my food I only received half my order and the half we received wasn't properly cooked. If the line hadn't been a 15 minute wait the first time through I would have asked for it to be fixed. Normally I would forgive this but this isn't the first time this has happened. Someone really needs to look into replacing the overnight management with someone capable of performing the job. read more

Poor service. One time when I was there a male employee asked me if I knew who should be in the world record book. I responded 'who' and they said 'Trump, he's the stupidest man on the planet.' I was so stunned at the employee's statement that I didn't even respond. Regardless of what you think of Trump, that's a horribly inappropriate thing to say to a customer on shift. And when I went again, the man was very rude. Credit card machine had to be rebooted, and if we didn't have cash would have to wait 5 minutes. Not a big deal but then the statement he made was very rude. He snapped "You can't get a drink if you don't pay for it!" Duh, dude, we know that! But we didn't want to hold up the line over one drink, so we just paid with cash to get the line moving. I will not return to this location. I am appalled at how poorly the employees' customer service is. And I understand that it's a stressful job, but they can still at least TRY to manage a positive attitude towards the customers. read more

I had been living in Portland for over a year when I decided it was time to sample some of the town's "fast food." First, the ambiance; all the furniture is plastic, making me feel like I was going to be eating in a children's dollhouse. And the service is terrible. The chairs, in addition to being unsightly, are extremely uncomfortable; I was seated for TWO HOURS before a gentleman sweeping the floor asked me if I needed help but said that he COULDN'T EVEN TAKE MY ORDER. So I went back into the kitchen and before I could even say one word to the chef regarding the restaurant's service he was yelling at me to get out of his kitchen and to stop throwing things into the fryer that I found on the floor. How rude! At this particular establishment the Maitr'e D station was ten feet across and plastic in keeping with the hideousness of their furniture. I asked the hostess for the wine list and she looked at me like I was growing a third head. Of course, as I had just returned from a trip to Italy, I asked for the wine list in what I'm pretty sure was Italian which she did not know a word of. Totally uncultured. When I finally placed my order I was told that I could not "have it my way:" She said that they didn't have the ingredients to make wasabi-mayonnaise for my burger, that it didn't make any sense to order my chicken nuggets "al dente," and that even if unicorns did exist they would not lay eggs from which they could make my unicorn-egg-omelet. In summation: inauthentic atmosphere, slow service, unicorn-deniers. Will never go back. read more
