I've heard great things about Burger Pioneers so I have always wanted to give them a go. I was in Pleasant Grove on a windy Saturday and Burger Pioneers was calling my name for some lunch. I am not sure what I was expecting, but I definitely thought they were in a more centralized location. They are not too far from State Street but not close to too many other businesses either. The great news is, they have a wide open parking lot with plenty of spaces. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their food truck is super cute. It hardly looks like a truck and resembles more of a massive wagon. They really went all out with the branding and I am here for it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]With it being a parked food truck, they didn't have a lobby or an inside but they did have some tables and chairs right outside their truck.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Upon approaching the truck, a guy came to stand beside me and take my order. I was not 100% sure what I wanted but I elected for their signature burger with fries. He said that he could bring it out to my car once it was ready, which I extra appreciated because it was not a very nice day out. My total was just shy of 20 bucks, at $19.27. I sorta understand. I mean, they're a local food truck and it seems that they strive to provide much better quality food than other fast food places...but this is pretty steep for just a burger and fries. The food did seem to come out pretty fast and I was excited to try it. The onion on the burger was a bit large, it was almost an inch thick and I think I would've preferred it cut up just a little more. The fries were pretty good but tasted a bit greasier than I would've liked. I did like that it came with a fry sauce. All in all, I really liked Burger Pioneers. I felt that all the flavors were a bit overpowering and almost bitter because of the greasy taste, but it wasn't a bad burger spot. I hope to be back when the weather is nicer with some friends. We ordered 2 burgers and we added bacon on both of our burgers which was extra. When we are our burgers, we couldn't even tell there was bacon on there. We couldn't taste it at all. It wasn't crispy. The bacon was really small and it was a cheap kind of bacon. We paid extra for it and couldn't even tell a difference. We ordered a side of waffle fries for our 11 month old daughter. Most of the fries were super hard and way over done. We couldn't feed them to her since she doesn't have all of her teeth. We ended up throwing them away because they were just so hard and not good. It is also super expensive. No fountain drinks just canned soda. Also, when we ordered nobody else was there and we waited so long for our food. We've passed by a couple times and have seen 4-6 people here everytime, so decided to try this! Once we arrived, I believe the owner came out to get our order. We ordered the frontier mushroom Swiss burger as a combo (with waffle fries and canned soda drink). I saw a lot of good reviews for the waffle fries, so I was excited about that. I also only ordered one to share, as the reviews said the portion was large. Taste: The burger was a little bit more on the oily side, but the meat was tender and had great flavour! The waffle fries were also nice and crispy, which I loved. Size: We ordered 1 to share for lunch, and it was the perfect amount. However, if you're super hungry, I recommend ordering your own. Price: It was a little pricey for one burger combo ($14). But I definitely wouldn't mind coming back again! Location: This truck is located on the side of the road, with rocks on the floor and by a lot of parked trailers/cars. The tables were a little wet as it has snowed this week, but the chairs were dry and comfortable. I also saw that they had a standing heater, but it wasn't turned on. It was a rainy Friday night, but Bob Marley was playing over the speakers, you can't beat that.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can tell the owner takes a lot of pride in what he does. Tonight his special was wild bison, burgers which I ordered and I also ordered the mushroom Swiss burger. I really liked the mushroom Swiss burger. He said that that's one of his favorites and I can see why. I thought the food was really tasty. It was $50 for 2 burgers and 2 fries. THE best burger in Utah county I have found. Possibly salt Lake county as well. Burgers are TOP notch, grass fed deliciousness. The waffle fries were super crispy, and both the normal pioneer sauce and the spicy pioneer sauce were fantastic takes on fry sauce. A MUST try for anyone looking for an amazing burger in Pleasant Grove. One concern I had was the dude mad my food hands were pretty dirty and should wear gloves but he was very friendly so the service is really good. Burger was way better than I ever would've expected it to be. Honestly one of the better burgers I've ever had. Their fries tho, are delicious, especially paired with their spicy pioneer sauce. That sauce is to die for. The place looked like a nice rustic place, and I loved the looked but the food was more on the pricy side, for the amount of food I cant say it was worth it, because we ate it I had the Mountain man burger, and my wife and the Swiss Burger, with waffle fries for both orders, and I they had a lot of grease on them the burger was good, could have used more seasoning, but it was good the fires had a lot of grease on them, and my wife was sick the next day from the amount of grease on the fries, so for our health i will sadly have to say will not be eating there again. read more
