Now for the not-so-good. We usually call ahead because we have a few family members with food allergies. We called ahead and everything sounded kopacetic. We arrived and ordered our food. One member of our 6 person party ate a couple of fries (which she asked about ahead of time due to her allergies) and she noticed something different about the fries. We asked one of the workers if they put something on the fries because they were crispy on the outside. The worker said "I don't think so." We asked if he could check to be sure so he went to ask. He came back and said "it's just crispy coating." So again we asked "can you tell us what is in the crispy coating because we are trying to avoid an allergic reaction." He replied "it's just crispy coating I don't know what's in it." So we asked "is there anyway you can find out what's in the crispy coating?" He replied "there is definitely a way to find out." He goes to the back...again. When he returns he says, "we fry the fries in a fryer with our chicken tenders. I would suggest not eating the fries." His suggestion is well-taken but we still don't know what's in the 'crispy coating.' When we were ordering, one member in my group asked for the two meat plate with brisket and pork ribs. The menu says "pork ribs." The worker said "We don't have pork ribs. We have ribs." So ribs it was. Giving a little room for grace, he was a young man who seemed to be new. BUT if you are at the cash register taking orders, you really should know what's on your menu. As for the food, it was disappointing. Portions were small. For the two meat plate with brisket and sausage, I was given one piece of brisket and a small hot link. To be fair, the menu says "8 oz" for the two meat plate so you kind of know what you're getting. When the order comes out, it looks very small. The brisket was a little on the dry side. The hot link was tasty but small. Buyer beware. TLDR; not coming back

The interior is one of the most distinctive things about the place. Nearly all the Art Deco furnishings, the booths, mahogany paneling, black glass counter, and light fixtures, were salvaged from Lamb's Grill, a Salt Lake City restaurant that had operated since 1919 before closing in 2017. Eating here feels a bit like dining inside a piece of Utah history. The service is usually excellent, and you can tell they take the motto behind their name seriously: "True service is true religion." This visit, our waitress did seem in a rush to turn the table, but the quality of the food made it easy to overlook. Worth noting: they run a Second Chances charity that supports people in recovery from addiction, those reintegrating into society after incarceration, and folks rebuilding after financial hardship or other life challenges. It's a meaningful mission, and it's part of what makes this place feel different from your average breakfast spot.

However, it is 50°, I'm dressed in shorts and a T-shirt, and I would be uncomfortably chilly having to sit outside. Regardless of my comfort, this is still of course, a violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act. Service dog handlers beware, this is not a restaurant in compliance with the ADA. I will be filing a complaint with the department of justice, if this happens to you, I highly recommend you do the same.

(Dip them in fry sauce for next level juiciness.) The battered fries were good but I didnt feel as enthusiastic about them as advertising might suggest I would (same with the house sauce, its not that great.) We had to request extra napkins, ask for coffee and water refills ourselves, and rarely saw our server check on the table. One thing that really surprised us was that she brought our check while we were still eating. I've dined at many restaurants, including First Watch, and it's unusual to receive the bill halfway through the meal rather than after you're finished. After Bill was placed on the table, we didn't see our server again. The final disappointment came after we had finished eating. We stayed for a few minutes talking, and when we were ready to leave with our leftovers, we waited approximately 20 minutes without seeing our server. I finally had to find another waitress just to get a takeout box. Individually, none of these issues would have been a major concern. I also missed any flavor from the truffle cheese sauce. So it was a pretty average burger. My gnocchi definitely tasted better than it looked. Another friend also got the same dish and it looked like they just split our portions in half and served it on two separate plates. In general, I wasn't a big fan of this dish. The braised short rib was very tender, but the whole plate sat in a pool of salty sauce. I couldn't really make out any other flavors. The scoop of crème fraiche tasted exactly like sour cream and was not the consistency that I expected. The gnocchi's were made well, but I prefer mine a little firmer. However, this is complete personal preference. Overall, service was good, but food fell severely short of what I expected. I was so excited for all of these elevated flavors and ingredients, but, sadly, none of them came through.

I had a hard time eating mine so I got a to-go box to take half of it home; my fiancé also had some left over. The portion was was large which was nice, but I usually finish mine when it's not so salty. The guacamole on top was barely edible. I also noticed that here, they put a large amount of the dressing on top; at the Park City location, they put the dressing on the side. The place was nice and spacious, the staff was nice, and the service was fast. The food did look quite fresh behind the counter. I think that if they can nail the details like the dressing on the side and the saltiness, they will do great. Overall, I'm very glad that a Vessel Kitchen is finally open in the Provo/Orem area!

All the customers were happy and the employees were smiling and kind and responsive. I had the Jonny burger and my wife had the caesar salad- both of us agree they were delicious! Leslie and Megan were the two outstanding employees who helped us order and brought us our food and answered our questions. I didn't interact with the chefs at all, but they sure whipped up some good food super fast so they deserve credit too! One thing I noticed is that Megan and Leslie were super kind and cheerful from the minute we walked in. I overheard Leslie mention to Megan that she was working a "clo-pen" which is a closing shift followed by an opening shift. The thing that stood out is that Leslie was HAPPY to work the clopen. I've never heard an employee (even my wife who is a manager for Dutch Bros) not complain about doing a clopen. Props to her!! The staff who worked tonight 8/14/26 should all get raises. Management, take note. You've got some amazing employees who proved to the customers tonight that they deserve raises, and they proved it without even intending to. Great food, great service, great staff, and a lovely environment for us to enjoy!! (Of course, I wouldn't suggest everyone come in right before closing but even when we did, we only had the best experience- as if it were the starts of the staff's shifts)
