This is the best burger I've found between Oly and Seattle! The food: burgers are made with a special combination of ground chuck and short rib. The patties are thick 1/2 pounders and are cooked to perfection. We usually split a burger because they're so huge! The Seoul sauce is fantastic and they come with cheddar cheese and are served on a brioche bun. They have other variations of burgers, including the Bulgogi burger made with grilled ribeye, Seoul X with fire soul meat, the Soul burger which is a Korean grilled pork butt, and more. They have great fries, including garlic fries. Service: there is often a line because the food is great! But the folks manning the grill are fast without sacrificing quality. Service is friendly & efficient. They also have smash burgers, but we haven't tried them. The shakes are great and they make delicious pickles. Ambience: whenever we have been here, or was a food truck located in the parking lot of a mini-market. When we have eaten here before, they had no tables, so it was a bit messy in the car. We have been traveling for awhile, so it's been awhile since we ate here. It now looks like they may have a building and some outside seating. Time to go back! read more

On a whim, my spouse wanted check out a popular chicken and waffle place, however they were closed before their posted time. So we scrambled to find another spot in the area and Yelp lead us to this establishment. Upon arrival, we were expecting it to be a food truck, however it was a small store with some seatings inside with ample of lights that looks clean and simple. We ordered at the kiosk because we wanted to see what the options were, the nice cashier told us to let her know if we had any questions. We ordered the smash burgers and extra garlic fries without any expectations. One word: amazing! The burgers was super juicy, messy and delicious. I don't imagine you would take a date here as the burger was huge! The pickled cucumbers had a nice crunch and sweet taste to it. The sauce was not overpowering, it was perfect. Everything was made fresh, so it took about 15 minutes--definitely a place where ordering ahead would help. The burger was cooked medium but leaned a bit dry, and while it wasn't bad, it didn't really stand out. The fries were a bit disappointing too; even though I asked for extra crispy, they didn't quite hit the mark, and the sauce wasn't really my thing. The service was nice and we didn't wait too long. The vibe is your typical modern yet small burger joint. There was limited seating but luckily we arrived at a non-busy time. Overall, most of the burgers and fries tasted great. I love how much Parmesan they topped the fries off with. The burgers had good toppings that blended the flavors well and were humongous (8oz patty). It's definitely a messy burger but they include the wrapper which helps mitigate some of the mess. It's been a hot minute since Steve and I were at Burger Seoul. Last time we were there they just had the food truck operating and they didn't have the physical location... as in a stationary building I should say. We decided to come back after that long absence. Upon entering we had to refamiliarize ourselves with the menu and it looks like they added some new menu items... new to us at least. The guy that rang us up was quite nice. He was chatty and missed an order of garlic fries that Steve wanted but I didn't figure that out until later. Steve was fine with just sharing my regular fries and that was cool because it was kind of a big portion of them. I got the Avocaseoul burger. A beef burger with guacamole. It was fantastic! The guacamole tasted great as did the burger. Usually I want more simple, basic burger without a lot of "bells and whistles" but this burger hit the spot! We also got a milkshake, specifically a Strawberry Milkshake and it was excellent! So very fresh, creamy. Really good ingredients go into making everything here. I could have just one of their milkshakes alone! Steve got a chicken sandwich which was good as well! I enjoyed the bite I had of it. I really liked the shrimp patty burger though, they are hard to find outside of asia so I think it's worth it just for that. They make the burgers to order so it was about a 15 min wait. But there is street parking available. Once inside, there is a few tables available. So if you see an open spot, snag it ASAP, or you might have to wait to try to snag the couple benches outside. But once in, theres a huge menu ahead. You can use the kiosk or have staff take your order. If you're not a beef burger person,that's okay! They have a chicken, pork, and shrimp burgers. They have fries too, just noticed now my photo is cut off on the fry section,oops. But they have a decent variety from plain,garlic, sweet potato and if you're feeling adventurous their own burger fries! They also have cheesy fries and fire fires, both with your choice or protein or no protein. Finally this local gem has a brick and mortar storefront! I ordered my superbolgogi and garlic fries online. When I came to pick up it was ready ahead of the promised time. My burger was a good size, meat was flavorful with KBBQ marinade. It was a messy burger! It does not come with onion, tomato, or pickles. Garlic fries are thick cut with crispy exterior and fluffy interior. The pick up window is not a drive thru, there are parking spots adjacent and then you can walk up to the window. It was a bit confusing on the email stating to specify if the customer wanted curbside pickup or window pickup because I didn't see that option on checkout. While this wasn't a "bad" experience, it was expensive and just overall underwhelming. The fries were probably the best part of the meal. The Seoul Fire fries were smothered with a sauce that was slightly too sweet for my liking, I would've preferred the flavor to be more spicy. The fries also had a congealed mixture on top, that made it difficult to eat cause of the off-putting texture(it was hard to bite and cut through). I liked how they use ribeye for the bulgogiger and it was cooked well, but overall, it made for an average burger so I was a little disappointed with both dishes that I ordered. Our first experience with Burger Seoul was with the truck during the potato shortage which is wild to even think about. They were super friendly and so apologetic about having to sub sweet potatoes (which were some of the best sweet potato fries I've had). The burger was amazing. We waited patiently for the brick and mortar to open and I am so glad its here! More options, more staff, and a great sized menu. We will be back to try more- the sauces and meat are top notch. The indoor seating goes quickly but the tables turn over pretty quickly and you can always take it to go. It was awesome to see the community pour in with support for funding the opening of this location and it was nice to see how busy it was when I got there! I think this spot is good, not great. The fries were very good and so was the shake. I was slightly bummed by the temperature of my sandwiches. The Seoul Burger was warm, but not the warmth that I hope to have with my burgers. The Fire Soul was lukewarm at best, bordering on cold, which I suspect to be due to the cold produce on the sandwich. Now, I will say that I walked this food home (5ish minutes from walking out of the restaurant to starting the meal). I drove down 6th Ave from west to east and everything was packed (Valentine's Day). I was feeling discouraged and almost went home to eat cheese and crackers until I saw Burger Seoul. My husband and I have been going to Burger Seoul for years and have introduced friends and family to this place throughout the years, so we were bummed out that they closed down their 19th street location earlier than expected this year. Tacoma can now breathe a sigh of relief because Young and his team have reopened, though now, it is a brick and mortar location at the beginning of Division Ave and 6th Ave (right across Memos). They will continue to serve their OG burgers and sides (woohoo for Fire Seoul!) AND will offer new options on their menu which I am excited to try when available. I'm happy that Burger Seoul opened a restaurant. It is a big upgrade from the food truck as they also added more food items. The food has improved from when they were operating out if a food truck. I'm glad they are growing! All of my friends have so many praises for this place but unfortunately my experience with the food is different from theirs. I found the burger to be very dry. I think the burger patty itself isn't very juicy and there was a lack of sauce on my Seoul Burger. I would have liked to have more of the Seoul sauce on my burger because all I could taste was the mustard. The burger patty also needs seasoning - I couldn't taste anything, not even salt. Very plain. The fries were probably my favorite part of the meal. I love good fries. The burger fries had soo much meat, cheese, and sauce. The fries were crisp and I really enjoyed eating these. They have very limited seating inside (just a few tables) but have a good amount of seats outside so it would be good for warmer weather. Between my boyfriend and I, we have tried everything on the menu. Our favorites are the Seoul Burger, Fire Soul Burger, and pork Fire Fries. I have noticed that the sauce on their burgers are inconsistent and this is an area of improvement. Jumping forward to present day, he has now opened a storefront to serve burgers and more! The place look looks very nice and clean with a friendly staff.
