Their truck at South Lake Union Park
Aaron B.

Always a pleasure whenever I run into Alaska Weathervane Scallops. Their scallops are just as enormous and flavorful as advertised. For how fresh they are mere $22 is completely worth the price. They can be slow when you find them at a shoulder to shoulder food festivals like Ballard seafood fest, but normally they are lightening quick, usually. Great service. Can't really speak to ambiance, as I've only gotten them at the food truck. However, if the outdoors and the bustling food festivals counts towards the "ambiance", I'd give them 10 out of 10 there as well. Cheers.

Yummy goodness! Quite possibly the best scallops we've ever had. Discovered them at Seafest Bellingham. Tried the bowl and the tacos! Also, very nice service. Can't wait to have MORE!

Scallop lovers, don't miss this! We stumbled upon the Alaska Weathervane Scallop food truck at Gobble Up Lake Union Park and were immediately intrigued by the long line--which moved surprisingly fast. Totally worth the wait! We tried two dishes: * The Scallad - A fresh coleslaw base topped with bacon, cilantro, and a very generous portion of perfectly cooked scallops. * Scallops with Green Chile Grits and Mushroom Marsala Sauce - Rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The scallops were seared just right--tender with a slight crisp on the edges. Highly recommend this spot if you're a fan of seafood, especially scallops. Can't wait to go back !

Adding another 5-star review after trying a delicious scallops with fresh pesto over rice at our local event. It was fabulous. And folks taking my order were beyond kind and willing to adjust to please. Such a treat.

One of my favorite food trucks in Seattle! The scallops are always fresh and perfectly cooked! They were at the SLU Saturday market and my husband and I had the scallops with red curry sauce and rice pilaf. The sauce is creamy and buttery and goes well with the rice and scallops! 10/10 would recommend! If you see them, give them a try!

Some of the best scallops in the Seattle area! We stopped by when they were at both the Fremont and SLU market. Scallops are huge, fresh, and juicy. Service was friendly! Casual spot! We paid about $20 for this bowl and it was well worth it!

Tried this food truck while at the 2024 Lakewood Fest. We ordered the scallops with mushrooms and rice pilaf. Scallops were tender, the whole dish was very delicious although I wish they added a bit more sauce, I hardly received any. While placing our order, the employee was very friendly and gave some recommendations. Will now be looking for this truck when we go to other events.

The food truck was at the Gobble Up event in Seattle and we tried it because it has the longest line. It was amazing and so delicious!!! I totally did not expect this level of food is presented by a food truck! The total is $19+tax, with this many scallops!!! The line was long, but it went pretty quickly. We ordered Marsala Mushroom flavor, with rice pilaf. The scallops were seared perfectly and they didn't put any strong spice or seasoning over it, so we can totally tasted the freshness and sweetness. The rice pilaf was topped with creamy Marsala mushroom sauce, very rich in flavor! If I see this food truck again, I will definitely go!

When my partner showed me their IG reel, I knew I had to give it a shot. I love scallops and these were cooked to perfection. I was a little worried about getting the rice pilaf because I was afraid that it wouldn't be flavorful enough. I was wrong, they gave us just enough mushroom marsala sauce to cover all of the rice and it had so much umami to it. The only complaint I had was I wish the portion was a bit bigger. I was definitely still hungry afterwards but it was good! Will be back for the scallop tacos next time!

These are the best scallops! I attended an event where the Alaska Weathervane Scallop Food Truck was serving their scalloritos, basically, tacos with scallops, which was the talk of the event, even though there was other seafood being served! They were that good. Since this food truck was here for a specific event, they were only offering their scalloritos, which was comprised of a flour tortilla with the seared scallops, bacon, cabbage and cilantro. They were amazing and there were a lot of repeat eaters, waiting in the food truck line. Of course, the star of this dish were the seared scallops. They were perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of sear and were very juicy. I could've easily eaten these alone, but served as a taco with the crispy bacon to contrast the texture of the scallops, just complemented it. I really want to find this food truck again and see what other offerings they have! But whatever it will be, scallops are to be had and devoured. I'm glad I was able to taste what was the most popular dish at the event.

Although I wasn't a huge fan of the rice that came with the plate, this food truck had quick food and amazing scallops for a decent price.

The catfish was paper thin, rubbery, and inedible. The grits were bland and unappetizing. The fried pork chops were greasy & tasted like they had been cooked in old, dirty oil. The banana pudding also did not taste homemade. After spending over $100 and only managing a couple of bites, we decided to request a refund because the food was simply unacceptable. We returned the food, but the store clerks said they couldn't process a refund and were unable to reach the owner. Two days later, the owner contacted us and refused to issue a refund. We truly value supporting small Black-owned businesses, but based on this experience, we will not be returning. Save your time and money.

I really hate to write a negative review about one of my favorite restaurants, but this experience…read morewas so disappointing. This restaurant has been one of my favorite places for the past two years. I've celebrated birthdays and anniversaries here, and I've recommended it to countless friends and family because the food and service have always been excellent. Unfortunately, my visit today was very different. My friend and I came in for lunch, and our server, Amanda, was noticeably inattentive despite the restaurant being nearly empty. She took our drink menu before we had finished looking at it, and my friend had to get up and find her to ask for it back. Throughout the meal, it was difficult to get her attention. When our food arrived, I asked for the lemon I ordered because they forgot it which is not a big deal to me they usually forget my lemon when I visit. She quickly dropped it off and walked away before I could order drinks. We then had to ask a second time just to place our drink order. The bigger issue was the food. Both seafood boils were lacking flavor, and mine seemed unusually watery, as though excess water hadn't been drained before the seasoning and butter were added. Since two seafood boils cost well over $100, I politely asked if there was any way to add more seasoning. I was respectful and apologetic because I genuinely dislike complaining about food. Amanda interrupted me before I could finish explaining and told me they couldn't add seasoning, only provide a side of seasoned butter. That would have been fine, I simply wanted a solution, but being cut off and met with an eye roll felt extremely rude and unprofessional. She then suggested the watery consistency was caused by the extra corn I ordered. I order extra corn every time I visit and have never experienced this issue before. After that interaction, she largely avoided our table. When she eventually boxed our leftovers, she immediately dropped off the check and walked away again. Upon reviewing the bill, I noticed I had been charged for the side of seasoned butter that was provided as the solution to the flavor issue. When I asked about it, Amanda explained that I was charged because I had ordered an extra side of seasoned butter. However, I hadn't ordered it as an addition to my meal, it was offered as the fix for food that she herself acknowledged was watered down. When I expressed that I felt it was inappropriate to charge a customer for the remedy to a quality issue, she responded that she could ask a manager to remove the charge if I wanted. By that point, I was very frustrated that this was even a charge in the first place and offered to just pay and leave. She quickly walked away and just removed the charge without consulting the manager like she previously mentioned which I found to be odd. This is the first negative experience I've had here, which makes it especially disappointing. I've always loved this restaurant and have recommended it to many people over the years. Sadly, after today's food and service experience, I'll likely be looking elsewhere for future celebrations and gatherings with friends and family. I've included some photos of the many visits my friends and family have had here over the years for lunch, birthdays, anniversary celebrations, etc. Please work on your customer service.

I couldn't remember the name of the place, but we found it: The Fish Peddler! We must have arrived at a perfect interval because there was a table for two that had just been bussed and ready for us near the large counter in the back where food was collected by servers and presented to hungry patrons at any of the 30-40 tables. Our server was genuinely warm and delightful and guided us to the menu and the on-line beer on tap information. Drinks were ordered and delivered in minutes - just enough time for us to announce our selections: A 3-piece halibut and chips for her, and for me, the albacore tuna with spring greens and gouda cheese on sourdough with a pint of I'm Not Afraid Of Music. It had the lowest alcohol content, and since I was driving, didn't want to push my luck. When our huge white dinner plates arrived - oh - did I mention the amazing jalapeño coleslaw? - we were amazed at the size of the perfectly deep fried halibut - which, on their own, provide a good bite, making only a smitten of tartar sauce necessary because you gotta have tartar sauce with fried fish, after all, right? I picked up one my sandwich haves and removed the toothpick with too much gusto and suffered a small splinter that I couldn't remove until I got home a couple of hours later with the help of a magnifying glass, a tweezer and some masking tape. But I ignored the splinter while I enjoyed my "this is NOT your mom's - or HER mom's - Tuna melt". The perfect balance of the albacore spread with the gouda showing up gloriously in almost every bite, the pillowy and cool greens and tomato slice that balanced the heat from the albacore between the two lightly toasted sourdough was my Valentine's Day gift to my mouth. We were stuffed, but not defeated - we ordered our cheesecake to go, and I get to have the last piece of halibut for a snack later on! It was great getting re-acquainted with This cozy, fun, busy restaurant since our last (and first) visit 3 years ago. My only regret is that for some unknown but surely inexcusable reason, I had waited three years before returning. Won't happen again.

He obviously isn't an owner and cares very little for the business establishment. I would be positive and make the sale after all it's all about customer service and the bottom line. I honestly can say that I am never going back there again. If it was my franchise I would be really upset. No body wants a employee to run off the customers. Times are tough and there no reason to run your customers out and encourage them to post a negative review. It's hard to find workers who care about the core business value. This was a location that I often went to but not anymore. The power of the purse is the only thing that matters. If you treat customers poorly, you're gonna lose business no matter how good the food is and the food is very good but not good enough to put up with a jerk. In the future what I want chowder. Honestly, I thought it was even better than La Isla before the fire that shut that place down. A few pain points. It's far.
